Monthly updates on One take a holiday at Christmas

Microsoft intends not to stop in its momentum of improvements for the Xbox One. The now famous monthly updates that took place in 2014 will therefore continue in 2015 after a short break during the Christmas period, as confirmed by the director of the Xbox division, Phil Spencer.

We’re not used to doing big updates in December. It’s a time of year when a lot of gamers will turn on their console for the first time, play games for the first time. Traditionally we stay away during November/December. However, we have announced an update for November this year. But in December we’re going to let people turn on their consoles and play while being sure that everything works well. This is our priority.

When we arrive in 2015, we will clearly have a schedule of monthly updates. When we resume, we will observe. We’re working hard on these things, but it’s a commitment we have as a platform development team.

This month’s update should bring, among other things, personalized wallpapers, more detailed profiles and even video sharing via Twitter.

And you, what do you think of the pace of updates on the Microsoft console?

Amazon launches in Spain a new monthly subscription of 4.99 euros for Amazon Prime

Amazon just announced a new monthly plan for Amazon Prime, its premium service under subscription with which users can enjoy advantages in shipments, offers and other services such as Prime Video. In this way, if you don’t want your subscription to last a whole year, you can also use the program for just one month.

This new monthly subscription will have a price of 4.99 euros, which makes it a good short-term option to do a punctual test of the service. However, with the price of the annual subscription remaining at 19.95 euros, it is not a very viable option in the long term.

“We are excited to launch an Amazon Prime monthly subscription plan on Amazon.com as it will bring flexibility. Now customers can enjoy the many benefits of Prime such as free and fast shipping, access to Prime Video content and much more. with a convenient monthly or annual plan, “said Lou Santini, Prime Director for Europe, in the press release.

Amazon Prime was launched in September 2011 in Spain, and since then it has been adding new features little by little. With them and its price of just 20 euros per month, the Spanish Prime has become one of the most profitable when compared with the € 49 they pay in France, the 84.21 euros at the exchange rate in the United States or the 89 , 21 euros from the United Kingdom.

Currently, the subscription includes digital benefits such as access to the Prime Video series and cinema service, as well as unlimited photo storage on Amazon Drive, access to the Twitch Prime program, and exclusive Flash Deals every day. For being a Prime user, you also have a discount with two months of savings on the annual subscription price of Amazon Music Unlimited.

The announcement coincides with the start of the first strike called by its workers in Spain, specifically in the largest logistics center they have in the country located in the Madrid town of San Fernando de Henares.

Waiting for the announced price increase

However, this surprising price could have its days numbered. In October of last year it was leaked that the online store could be considering raising prices in Spain to equal the service to that of other countries, although as of today we have not heard about this hypothetical change.

However, in the event that they have not yet ruled out the option, a good first step to pave the way could be this new monthly fee, since it makes the annual fee save 67%, which seems too good for last a long time. But these are just assumptions, and Amazon has not yet made any kind of official announcement regarding this issue.
