‘Peaches’ from Super Mario Bros. the Movie loses again to Barbie: ‘I’m Just Ken’ takes the award for Best Original Song at the Critics Choice Awards 2024

We are still in the Hollywood awards season and with the bad streak of Super Mario Bros. the Movie, as once again it has lost the award for Best Original Song to Barbie. Jack Black’s ‘Peaches’ seemed like the big favorite after its release… but Barbie is getting ahead of itself with the awards.

Last week at the Golden Globes, ‘Peaches’ lost to ‘What Was I Made For?’ by Billie Eilish, but this week at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Jack Black’s song lost to the other viral hit of 2023: ‘I’m Just Ken’, performed by Ryan Gosling in Barbie.
