All the winners of the ESLAND Awards 2024

The ESLAND Awards close their particular circle in Andorra. With this third edition of the awards, TheGrefg closes the circle by visiting the three areas that make up the acronyms of these awards (Spain, Latin America and Andorra). From here on, the creator residing in Andorra wants to make these awards without the strict obligation to hold events in these areas every three years, and look for where they value it most.

After the formal red carpet and arrival of the content creators, the awards ceremony began. This year another great novelty was also included, by having for the first time with a multiplatform live. TheGrefg ended his exclusivity contract with Twitch, and therefore, he can do live streams on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. David Cánovas chose to do two signals at the same time, one horizontally for Twitch and YouTube and another vertically for the two mobile platforms, which had Suja and Marina Rivers as presenters.

Without further ado, here we leave you the list of the winners of these ESLAND 2024 awards, to whom we will underline in bold, in addition to all the nominees for the various categories that made up these awards. The speech of the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 after receiving the GOTY at the DICE awards is to frame

A year ago no one could have expected it, but the Belgian company Larian Studios He hasn’t gotten tired of collecting awards and giving speeches. The reason is Baldur’s Gate 3, its monumental classic RPG that offers a practically unlimited amount of options to face the adventure. Now those also responsible for Divinity Original Sin have once again won some awards and continue to have interesting things to say.

And it is that the speech of the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 after receiving the GOTY at the DICE awards is to frame. In this case, it was not only Larian’s top executive, Swen Vincke, who gave the speech that echoes many of the current issues in the industry, but other heavyweights of the company have also appeared to thank everyone. the support they are receiving.

The speech of the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 after receiving the GOTY at the DICE awards is to frame

These have been the words of Larian in his GOTY pickup speech at the DICE awards, as the developer has reported on Twitter Sarah M..

“Many, many people have been laid off at the beginning of this year. Don’t let the flame go out because of our collective mistakes. We don’t have shareholders, but we don’t think about them either.

(…)

We ask you to pay only one price for the game, and that’s it. You can own the game for the rest of your lives. “Building a community, building a player base, building games that are actually fun is what is going to make you money.”

In just a few sentences, Larian Studios has addressed and given its opinion on some of the hot topics in the video game industry right now, such as mass layoffs, ownership and creative freedom of studios and the most profitable business models. All of this at a time when the unviability of single player experiences is once again in the spotlight. Baldur’s Gate 3 has proven all the critics of this format wrong.

Remember that Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on Xbox and other platforms, which has a physical edition on the way and which has not stopped adding awards and recognitions over the last few months. And all of them deservedly so.

Saxxy Awards 2015 – this was the best Source Filmmaker video this year

Once again this year, Valve handed out prizes for the best Source Filmmaker videos, of which a brilliant Team Fortress 2 work was the absolute winner.

Valve famously made good promotional videos for its games, just remember the “Meet The…” series, which was used to establish the backstory of Team Fortress 2’s characters. Since then, the baton has been handed over to the community, who can now not only create trailers for official updates, but also collect prizes.

This year, the brilliantly named Saxxy Awards were awarded to the best Source Filmmakers for the fifth time, and this year, of course, Team Fortress 2 works were also included. The only category where a Dota 2 video could win was best drama, the winners of best action, comedy, short and long video were all TF2 works. The absolute winner was Dunkle’s video, the excellently successful Turbulence, which included his own voice acting and, of course, plenty of his own character models in addition to jokes and flawless action scenes. It might be worth taking a look at the other winning and nominated videos as well, you can find them on this year’s Saxxy Awards website.

We still have a lot to tell you, you can find everything interesting here!

BIG Festival 2023 Announces List of Finalist Games for the BIG Awards

BIG Festival announced the list of finalist games selected for the BIG Awards of the 11th edition of the event. Brazil is the country with the highest number of finalists, with 26 representatives in 12 different categories.

In total, 626 games from 55 countries were entered, a record number for the festival, and 110 of them were selected for the competitive showcase. Games from 28 countries compete among the finalists.

Check out the details, via press release. The complete list of finalists can be found at this link.

After breaking the record number of 626 games entered, the BIG Festival, the largest games festival in Latin America, announces the list of finalists selected for the BIG Awards of the 11th edition of the event. In all, the Festival Committee selected 110 games from 28 countries for the 18 different categories.

Brazil is the country with the most games at the festival, with 26 nominations in all, and competing in 12 categories, including two games nominated for Best International Game, the most prestigious award at the event: Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles and Dungeon Drafters.

Some games stood out in the jury’s evaluation and received multiple nominations. Titles like Dead Pets Unleashed, from Denmark; SEASON: A letter to the future, from Canada; Stray Gods, from Australia; and Canada’s Sunday Gold were nominated for five different awards. All of them are on the Best International Game list. Among the games produced on Brazilian soil, the highlight goes to Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles, which was nominated in the Best Sound, Best Brazilian Game and Best International Game categories.

“We are very happy to continue breaking records at each edition of the BIG Festival. This year we received 626 games submitted from over 50 different countries and that is just a reflection of the success of not only BIG but the industry as a whole. It is a demonstration of how the game development sector has been getting stronger every year”, says Gustavo Steinberg, director of the BIG Festival. Seeing so many national games being chosen as finalists in several categories, including Best International Game, is very rewarding. This only reinforces the competence of all professionals in the country and the solidification of Brazil as a creator of games”, adds the festival director.

In addition to the exposure and prestige that the games receive at the festival, the winners of the Best Game, Best Game: Latin America and Best Game: Brazil categories will receive, in addition to the trophy, cash prizes worth R$5,000. The public will also be able to participate in the selection of the Best Popular Vote Game, where the winner will be awarded R$ 3 thousand. To vote, the public must test the game at the festival and, at the end of the game, will be able to vote for that title.

All selected games will be able to be played by BIG Festival visitors at the face-to-face event and part of them can also be tested online, free of charge. The ESLAND 2024 finally receives a change that will greatly benefit TheGrefg’s awards gala. There will be a professional jury away from fanaticism

2024 will begin in style with the celebration in Andorra of the ESLAND. The live content creation awards gala directed by TheGrefg will return in the best possible way, as it has finally announced that there will be significant changes regarding voting.

Through a live video with Pol, a content creator who explained last year the most effective process for this type of awards, all the changes that will come to the third edition of the ESLAND were announced, being the selection of nominees and the final votes the most outstanding.

After several discussions, it has been concluded that professionals should have much more weight in the votes than the general public. This has led to the fact that, after two years of controversy, the distribution of votes is 25% for the public and 75% for the creators of content.

Important and necessary changes for ESLAND 2024

They will exist two types of categories: the professional ones and the popular ones. In the popular ones, the public will have 50% of the votes and those that have the most weight in the community will be included, such as ‘clip of the year’ or ‘anger of the year’. As for the professional categories, instead of being chosen by the people, will be decided through statistical analysis to avoid meaningless nominations. Thus, the 10 best in each category in terms of views and hours recorded will go to the final phase.

Once the content creators have been chosen in each category, you can vote for 4 candidates from all the nominees in order of preference. It should be noted that these votes will not begin until next year, since this will allow an analysis to be made based on the entire year. It seems that Grefg wants to find the formula for the ESLAND to last beyond a trilogy that stands out more for its controversies than for the awards themselves.
