Play Pokemon Unite with a controller on your cell phone?

How can you Play Pokemon Unite on mobile with a controller? Does Pokemon Unite on Android or iOS even support controllers and if so, how do you get them to work in the game app? These questions may concern one or two Pokemon MOBA players who simply can’t get to grips with the touchscreen controls on their cell phones and would like to play with the controller similar to the Nintendo Switch. But can you actually play Pokemon Unite on your cell phone with a controller and, for example, connect an Xbox or PS5 controller to your smartphone and then play it?

The short answer to the above question is, no, you can’t use Pokemon Unite when it’s released Do not play with a controller on your Android smartphone or iPhone. The mobile version of the Pokemon MOBA Unlike the Nintendo Switch version, it does not yet support controllers and you can currently only play using touchscreen controls. Since Pokemon Unite was only released for smartphones a few days ago, it will probably only be a matter of time before the game gets controller support, since you can also play cross-play against players on the Nintendo Switch.

Play on your cell phone with a controller via a detour

If you can’t handle the touchscreen controls in Pokemon Unite on your cell phone at all, you can do so as an alternative via “detours”with so-called KeyMapper apps play the game with the controller. With the KeyMapper apps such as the Mantis Gamepad Pro or Octopus, you can assign a controller button to touchscreen buttons (i.e. specific areas on the touchscreen). When you then press the controller button, the app virtually “tap” the selected area, allowing you to play mobile phone games with controllers that do not have controller support themselves.
