Since Pokemon Unite was only released for smartphones a few days ago, it will probably only be a matter of time before the game gets controller support, since you can also play cross-play against players on the Nintendo Switch.
Play on your cell phone with a controller via a detour
If you can’t handle the touchscreen controls in Pokemon Unite on your cell phone at all, you can do so as an alternative via “detours”with so-called KeyMapper apps play the game with the controller. With the KeyMapper apps such as the Mantis Gamepad Pro or Octopus, you can assign a controller button to touchscreen buttons (i.e. specific areas on the touchscreen). When you then press the controller button, the app virtually “tap” the selected area, allowing you to play mobile phone games with controllers that do not have controller support themselves.
