Can you believe it’s almost 2024? Where does time go? Another new year brings a host of new events to Pokemon GO, and it’ll start with a bang with the 2024 New Year’s event which features one of the cutest Pokemon debuts in recent times!
Pokemon GO New Year 2024 Full Event Details
When Pokemon GO launched in 2016, I had no idea that I would still be playing it eight years later, in 2024. It’s been a long journey, and a lot has changed over the years. What better way to celebrate by bringing the new year into gaming and in style! Additionally, there will be fireworks in the sky again.
Event date and time
The Pokemon GO New Year 2024 event will begin on Monday, January 1st, 2024has 10:00 a.m. and last until Wednesday, January 3, 2024has 8:00 p.m. local time.
Pokémon debut
The following two Pokémon will debut during the 2024 New Year’s event.

Encounters with wild Pokémon
The following Pokémon will be available to catch in the wild for the duration of the 2024 New Year’s event, and yes, the dapper Hoothoot is back.

Tip:
Note that the Ultra Beasts that can be found in five-star raids are regional, and you will only be able to find those that are local to you. Unless you are able to remote raid to a raid in another region.

Field Research Task Encounters
During the event period, trainers will be able to encounter certain Pokémon as rewards for completing field research tasks which will be rewarded by rotating PokéStops and obtaining event-specific tasks. In addition to the Pokémon below, trainers will also be rewarded with Stardust for completing these tasks.

Event Bonuses
The following event bonuses will be active for the duration of the 2024 New Year’s Eve event.
- Trainers who place Eggs in an incubator during the event will receive 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance.
- Trainers will receive 1/4 egg hatch distance for the first three eggs they hatch via the egg hatch widget.

One-off paid study exclusive to the event
Players can purchase an event-exclusive paid One-Time Research for $1 or the equivalent in their local currency. Purchasing this research will allow trainers to obtain the following rewards upon successful completion.

The search for paid time will be posted online at the same time as the event and must be completed before January 3, 2024has 8:00 p.m. local time to take full advantage of its benefits.
