PS5 Camera Green Screen Setting: Remove Background

How can you do that? PS5 camera remove the background? Where can you get it? Activate the “green screen” effect on the PlayStation 5 and adjust? If you want to stream with the PlayStation 5, you will probably also want to incorporate a facecam into the stream. When setting up a facecam, the question often arises: How can you activate the green screen and thus remove the background so that only you can be seen on the facecam? In this guide we show how you can activate and set the feature on the PlayStation 5.

PS5 camera: set up green screen

Similar to its predecessor in the form of the PlayStation 4, you don’t necessarily need a capture card and a PC to stream with the PlayStation 5, you can Record gameplay using on-board resources and also on Stream on streaming platforms such as Twitch or YouTube. Even if the PS5 does not yet support “normal webcams”, you can get the PS5 HD camera and connect it to the console. In the Camera settings you can also have one Set green screen and so on at the push of a button remove the background (By the way, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a green screen, you can also use a blue screen, the only important thing is good lighting or illumination of the green screen).

  1. Start the PlayStation 5 and connect the HD camera using the USB cable.
  2. Open the settings in the main menu using the gear symbol and select “Camera” under “Accessories”. If the camera has not yet been set up, you must now follow the instructions displayed again and focus on the face.
  3. You can then show the camera via “Recordings and Broadcasts”, “Transmissions” and “Camera” and then set the “Cut Mask” to “Chroma Key”.
  4. Last but not least, you have to play around a bit with the “Level” setting and adjust it to the holiness in the room so that the background is removed correctly.

Some players are reporting problems with the chroma setting or the green screen on the PS5. The cause of the problems is usually due to the poor illumination of the green screen or the incorrect “level” setting and as a result the background is not removed properly.
