It seemed like it was no longer going to happen, but the sequel to a great apocalyptic blockbuster in a pandemic gets underway with Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin


Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin and director Ric Roman Waugh have confirmed that They will reprise their roles in the sequel ‘Greenland: Migration‘, whose production will begin in the United Kingdom in April and had already been announced a couple of years ago, when the first part, ‘Last Refuge’ was a small success in the middle of the pandemic, grossing $52 million at the box office despite it.

A surprise hit and a belated sequel

Chris Sparling and Mitchell Lafortune have written the script in which the plot is officially summarized as follows:

“The Garrity family must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker after Comet ‘Clarke’ decimates Earth, and the family embarks on a harrowing journey across the wasteland of Europe to find a new home.”

Greenland premiered in theaters in the summer of 2020 and after its successful run, the film was released on VOD followed by an exclusive showing in the United States on HBO Max. Sébastien Raybaud, producer, has expressed:
