The list of PS5 games that support VRR


In an update in April, the PS5 has officially launched the VRR, this new variable refresh system of the console which avoids the tearing effect on your games. Many titles have been patched and are now compatible, others will arrive soon. In addition to 15 original gamescurrently, there are about 20 games that support Sony’s VRR.

What is VRR?

Acronym of Variable Refresh Rate, for variable refresh rate, VRR is a technology that allows the rate to be adapted to your screen. So you avoid the tear effects (tearing) that can occur on monitors that are out of sync with a game’s refresh rate. a smoother picture, because you don’t lose your FPS when moving on the screen.

How to enable VRR on PS5?

If you have updated your console with the update from last April, you can activate the VRR in your PS5 console. Of course, you must have a compatible screen, equipped with an HDMI 2.1 port. Go to the console settings, then to “Screen and video”, and “video output”. You will see the VRR option which can activate automatically or switch to total stop.

On this screen you can also choose apply VRR to unsupported games. This option allows you to attempt to apply the technology to PS5 games that do not yet have an official support patch. The console will do its best to apply an automatic fix to avoid tearing and improve fluidity.
