The Witcher 4 Gameplay Innovations The Game Needs – SamaGame Cast (Ep54)

This week we finally got confirmation from CD Projekt Red that a new saga for The Witcher is in the works. Well, quite a few open-world RPGs have been released in the meantime that have renewed the genre considerably. That is why in the SamaGame Cast we discuss which The Witcher 4 gameplay innovations are needed to keep up with all these top titles and whether CD Projekt Red itself might also be able to pull a special innovation out of the hat.

With Cyberpunk 2077 still fresh in their minds, CD Projekt Red has chosen to reveal that the latest installment in The Witcher franchise is in development. Well, it will be a while before the game actually comes out, but there is certainly something to discuss when it comes to possible The Witcher 4 gameplay innovations.

It is true that RPG enthusiasts have been spoiled lately with excellent games such as Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West. Both games have done new things with the genre, so you would think that The Witcher 4 will have to innovate a lot in terms of gameplay in the coming years. What exactly should happen with The Witcher 4 gameplay innovations Luuc and Roland discuss in episode 54 of the SamaGame Cast.

The Witcher 4 gameplay needs to change

We are used to telling a good story from CD Projekt Red, so there is confidence in that. So the question is whether the Polish studio will also lean a bit into the design of Elden Ring, where discovery and exploration are central to the gameplay loop. You can hear whether it is really necessary in the latest episode of the SamaGame Cast below!
