The Witcher 3: Patch 3.7 for Switch solves problems with cloud saves

  • Witcher 3 has received a new update for the Switch
  • This should solve problems with the data transfer from and to Steam or GOG
  • There is also a new patch for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received the new update 3.7 for the Nintendo Switch.

The Complete Edition of The Witcher 3 for the hybrid console was released over a year ago. This should now be even better with another update. The patch notes show that problems with cloud saves from Steam or GOG in particular have been resolved.

A bug blocked the game progress when transferring saved games. Furthermore, the language and font for simplified Chinese in the game are said to have been improved. There are also numerous bug fixes and general stability improvements.

Switch update 1.0.2 for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales improves data transfer

The spin-off RPG Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales also received the new update 1.0.2 for the Nintendo Switch version. This is also primarily intended to improve the data transfer of saved statuses between the PC and console version. With the update, Thronebreaker also gets bug fixes and an optimization of the stability, as the patch notes reveal.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is based on the online trading card game Gwent, which was also released as a free-to-play title in 2016 as a spin-off of the Witcher series. In Thronebreaker, Gwent becomes an RPG: The combat mode consists entirely of card game duels.

With Thronebreaker, CD Projekt Red created not only a small franchise offshoot, but a surprisingly extensive, independent single player campaign. You can read whether the role-playing game was able to convince in the test of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

The Witcher 4 will not be an Epic Games Store exclusive

The announcement of the new Witcher game went hand in hand with the announcement that CD Projekt RED has partnered with Epic Games. For some fans, this quickly led to the fact that the game on PC would only be available in the Epic Games Store. But that is not the developer’s intention.

Unlike previous installments, ‘The Witcher 4’ is not created in CD Projekt RED’s REDengine. Instead, Unreal Engine 5, a game engine from Epic Games, is used. This is because the two companies have entered into a multi-year partnership, which also focuses on the further development of Unreal Engine 5.

  • Get The Witcher 3 at home

The partnership with Epic Games alone quickly raised concerns among fans that The Witcher 4 would only be available through the Epic Games Store. But CD Projekt Red says on Twitter that there are no plans to make the game exclusive to one storefront.

The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are both available on the Epic Games Store, so the new game will likely be available there too, especially now that there’s a partnership. But CD Projekt RED does not intend to fully bet on that store. The Witcher 4 will likely also be available through GOG, CD Projekt RED’s proprietary platform. There’s also no indication that the developer plans to drop Steam.

What do we know about The Witcher 4?

At the moment little is known about the new Witcher game. He is described as starting a new saga in the franchise. CD Projekt RED has also announced that it does not want to crunch to finish the game. When it will be released is still unknown.

Well, it will be a while before the game actually comes out, but there is certainly something to discuss when it comes to possible The Witcher 4 gameplay innovations.

Next-gen version The Witcher 3 postponed again

The Witcher 3 is still regarded as one of the best open world games ever made. It’s no wonder then that a version for PS5 and Xbox Series X is in development. This one has just been postponed again.

According to the original plans, we should have gotten our hands on the PS5 and Xbox Series X version of The Witcher 3 last year. It was only postponed to the second quarter of this year. But now the game is not going to make it to that date either.

  • Get The Witcher 3 at home

The development of the new version is in fact taken over by CD Projekt RED itself. It was originally created by Saber Interactive, who also developed the Switch port of the game. It was the Russian arm of Saber Interactive that developed the port, so the changing of the guard seems possibly related to the war, if not confirmed.

The project is not completely restarted. But because CD Projekt RED has yet to assess how much work still needs to be done, the game has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set, but it should come as soon as possible.

What will The Witcher 3 bring to PS5 and Xbox Series X?

Basically The Witcher 3 on the new consoles is the same game you already know. You can buy it separately, or download a free upgrade for a last-gen version of the game. There will also be some new content that takes inspiration from the Netflix series.

The Witcher 3 isn’t the only Witcher game owners of the new consoles can look forward to. Recently, CD Projekt RED confirmed that a new The Witcher game is in development. Officially this one is not called The Witcher 4, because it would start a ‘new saga’ in the Witcher story.

Here’s the Witcher trailer rap you’ve been waiting for

“I’m built hard to deal with Nilfgaard and real scarred.”

Netflix recently released the first trailer for his new TV series based on the popular The Witcher books based. This video inspired an enterprising nerdcore MC to create Geralt and the Witcher Universe to write appropriate lines and underlay the trailer with it. The English rapper Dan Bull combines his track “The Bestiary” with the footage showing the fierce looking Henry Cavill shows. That expression fits perfectly with the rapped list of Geralt’s monstrous enemies. The result is reminiscent of you Pokemon Rap, only here Alghouls take the place of Articuno.

Dan Bull pleased us beforehand a Borderlands 2 track, which gave us the phrase “Vault Hunter S. Thompson”. That’s very good, even if he’s not quite there (yet). Mega Ran reaches.
