EA Sports FC 24 is under development for both old and next generation. But what are the differences between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions? Is the expensive upgrade to the next generation worth it? We explain it to you!
The separation between EA Sports and FIFA is official. The successor to FIFA 23 is called “FC 24”. Aside from the name and some additional innovations, the game remains the same.
However, there are significant differences between the different console generations and platforms. We’ll explain if upgrading from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S is worth it.
The differences between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions of EA FC 24
The most obvious difference is the console. The Xbox One is far behind in terms of capacity compared to the Xbox Series X/S, which can implement completely different technologies. And you can directly notice it in the game.
However, what is also noticeable is the significant price difference between the consoles. If you only play a few hours a month, you don’t necessarily need an Xbox Series X/S.
EA FC 24 on Xbox One
EA FC 24 will be available on Xbox One. You can purchase or pre-order the Standard or Ultimate edition. The pre-order bonuses are also the same as for Xbox Series X/S. The standard edition price is $79.99, so the Xbox One version is just as expensive as the Xbox Series X/S version.
However, Xbox One owners also have to give up some things. This was already the case with FIFA 23, and we were really disappointed with EA. The image stuttered, sometimes froze, and was generally extremely slow.
Creating a relaxed Dream Squad in Ultimate Team was sadly not fun as you sometimes had to struggle through the menu, like in FIFA 09. It was definitely different on Xbox Series X/S as the menu worked well and game times Expectations were minimal.
As for how this improved in EA FC 24, remains to be seen. However, you can assume that EA will focus its resources more on developing next-gen games, because that’s the future.
In a few years, the majority of gamers will own an Xbox Series X/S, and developers will no longer prioritize Xbox One gamer satisfaction.
FIFA 23 gameplay on the Xbox One version was decent, although it was in no way comparable to gameplay on Xbox Series X/S. However, we don’t know what new technology features are intended to be used for EA FC 24 (hint: resources).
So EA will try to sell you a refurbished EA FC 24 for Xbox One, even though there will be hardly any gameplay changes.

EA FC 24 on Xbox Series X/S
The Xbox Series X/S is the console of the future and can handle all new technologies like Hypermotion. The gameplay is completely different since the old Xbox One cannot implement features like AcceleRATE.
Features like AcceleRATE or the latest Hypermotion animations offer more realistic yet refreshing gameplay.
In general, the Xbox Series X/S has noticeably faster load times, its drive (if any) is quiet, and it just looks cooler.
Xbox Series X/S is connected via cross-play with PlayStation 5 and PC, giving you more options to connect with friends.
Xbox Series X/S is clearly superior to Xbox One in every way. It would be sad if Microsoft released a console upgrade where you wouldn’t notice any difference.
However, what is noticeable is the high price… It is quite heavy.

Xbox One is primarily available for purchase as used. Then the $499 for an Xbox Series X/S doesn’t seem too expensive. The S-Series is even more affordable.
By the way, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S have the same FUT transfer market. However, Xbox One players are at a disadvantage when shooting players due to longer loading times.
So which version is the best? Our answer is clear: Xbox series X/S. Even though the game and console are slightly more expensive, the extra cost is worth it for better gameplay and faster load times.
