EA Sports FC 24: the differences between the PS4 and the PS5…

EA Sports FC 24 is under development for both old and next generation. But what are the differences between the PS4 and PS5 versions? Is the expensive upgrade to the next generation worth it? We explain it to you!

The separation between EA Sports and FIFA is official. The successor to FIFA 23 is called “FC 24” or “Electronic Arts Sports Football Club Twenty-Four”, as they say here at the office of SamaGame.com. However, aside from the name and a few minor innovations, the game remains largely the same.

Where there are sometimes significant differences is between different console generations and platforms. We will explain if upgrading from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 is worth it.

The differences between the PS4 and PS5 versions of EA FC 24

The most obvious difference is the console. The PS4 is far from having the capabilities of the PS5, which can implement completely different technologies. And you can notice it directly in the game.

However, what you also notice is the significant price difference between the consoles. If you only play a few hours a month, you don’t have to buy a PS5.

There is no longer a shortage, and the PS5 is available everywhere, for example at Amazon.

EA FC 24 on PS4

EA FC 24 will be available for the PS4. You can purchase or pre-order the standard or ultimate edition. The pre-order bonuses are also the same as for the PS5. The standard edition will be priced at $79.99, making the PS4 version the same price as the PS5 version.

However, PS4 owners also have to do without a few things. This was already the case in FIFA 23, and we were very disappointed with EA. The game stuttered, sometimes froze, and was generally extremely slow.

Building a casual dream team in Ultimate Team unfortunately wasn’t fun at all as navigating the menus felt like FIFA 09 at times. It was definitely different on the PlayStation 5 as the menu worked fine and the wait times were boundaries.

How much this will improve for EA FC 24 remains to be seen. However, you can expect EA to prioritize allocating its resources to developing next-gen games, because that’s quite simply the future.

In a few years, the majority of gamers will own a PS5, and developers will no longer prioritize PS4 gamer satisfaction.

The FIFA 23 gameplay on the PS4 version was decent, although it couldn’t compare to the PS5 gameplay at all. However, we do not know what new technological features are supposed to be used for EA FC 24 (in terms of resources).

So EA will try to sell you a refurbished EA FC 24 for the PS4, even though there will be virtually no gameplay changes.

The PS5 is the console of the future, integrating various new technologies like Hypermotion. The gameplay is completely different as the old PS4 cannot implement features like AcceleRATE.

Features such as AcceleRATE or the latest Hypermotion animations provide a more realistic yet refreshing gaming experience.

In general, the PS5 has much faster load times, it’s not noisy, and the game just looks so much better.

PS5 is connected via cross-play with Xbox Series X/S and PC, giving you more options to connect with friends.

The PS5 is obviously superior to the PS4 in every aspect. It would be sad if Sony released a console upgrade with no noticeable differences.

However, you notice the high price… It’s different.

EA FC 24: comparison PS4 and PS5

Now for the ultimate EA FC 24 comparison between PS4 and PS5:

standard edition price

$79.99 $79.99
ultimate edition price $109.99 $109.99
console price approximately. $300 approximately. $550

Prices are dynamic and may change at any time, and the price may also vary from supplier to supplier. However, the consoles are in this price range. Prices shown are for the “regular” PS4 (not the Pro version) and PS5 with drive.

But did you expect the PS4 to cost another $300? Pretty expensive for a console that’s been around for a decade… Then the $550 for a PS5 doesn’t seem that expensive.

By the way, PS4 and PS5 have the same FUT transfer market. However, if you want to snipe a player on the PS4, you have a downside due to loading times.

So which version is the best? Our answer is quite clear: PlayStation 5. Even though the game and console are slightly more expensive, the extra cost is worth it for better gameplay and faster load times.
