Elden Ring multiplayer not working? Try these fixes!


Can’t challenge other players because multiplayer isn’t working in Elden Ring? You are not alone – this is a common problem that plagues players around the world. If your multiplayer game isn’t working on PC, PS, and Xbox, here are some troubleshooting tips you can try to fix it.

Troubleshooting Elden Ring multiplayer on PC, Xbox, and PS

These methods are not guaranteed, but they are worth a try as many players have reported that they helped them resolve the issue on PC, Xbox, and PS.

  • Make sure you have updated your game to the latest patch.
    • PC players:
      • Open your Steam library.
      • Select Elden Ring > select Manage > Properties.
      • Select the Updates tab and click on Automatic Updates.
    • Xbox players:
      • Update your Xbox Series X/S game manually by going to My Games & Apps > Manage > Updates.
    • PlayStation players:
      • Open the library and select a game > click the Options button > select Check for Update.
  • Update your graphics drivers to the latest version.
    • Go to the manufacturer’s official website and download the latest files. You can also uninstall and reinstall these drivers.
  • Update your Windows OS to the latest version.
    • Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Select Check for updates.
  • Check to see if the Elden Ring servers are down at this time. Also find out if the Xbox Live and PSN servers are down.
  • Check the integrity of your Steam files.
    • Open the Steam client.
    • Find the Elden Ring in the library.
    • Right-click on its name and select Properties.
    • On the left is the Local Files tab, which you need to go to.
    • Click on Verify integrity of game files.
    • Once the verification process is complete, launch the game again and see if it crashes midway or at startup.
  • Restart your console or PC.
  • Restart your router if you think the problem is with your Internet connection.
    • Use a wired connection to check if you can connect to multiplayer mode.
    • Unplug the network cable connected to the console and check it. Make sure that the connector is free of dust and dirt particles. After that, connect the wire back.
