Anyone who owns the PlayStation 5 from Sony will probably hear the sound via a connected headset or headphones or even via the connected television. PlayStation 5: Sound via TV and headset at the same time?
The short answer to the question is, at least with the current firmware version of the PlayStation 5, No, it’s not that easy, as you might initially imagine (similar to the PlayStation 4, by the way). - To do this, you first have to open the system settings and under the menu item “Sound” and “Audio output” change the output device to “HDMI device” and then the “HDMI device type” to “TV”. You also have to deactivate the “Switch output device automatically” option.
- Next you need headphones with a 3.5mm jack plug, which you have to plug into the audio output of the DualSense controller. The sound from the voice chat should then also be played through the speakers of the connected television.
