Fae Farm Frozen Farm: Destroy Large Stones

How to destroy the large boulders with cracks in Fae Farm? How do you get to the Frozen Farm area? These questions may be on the minds of one or two players of the new Fae Farm in the last few days and weeks who have already spent a few hours in the game world and have now discovered the “Frozen Farm” on the northwest of the map. In this short guide we’ll show you how to unlock and enter the area.

Unlock Frozen Farm

Before you can reach the frozen farm in Fae Farm, you must first complete Chapter 8 and the quest “An Island Celebration”. To do this, you have to bring four different polished diamonds to the Mother of the Forest Light, which can be found in the Saltwater Mine and the Burning Caves. After the quest it will be displayed that Chapter 8 has been completed and you have received a new house. The new house and area is the frozen farm in the far west of the map, west of the burn caves and the icy plateau. The entrance to the frozen farm is blocked by a large boulder that already has a few cracks but cannot be removed with conventional tools.

Remove large boulders

In order to destroy the large boulder on the icy plateau, you have to use the magic wand and the newly learned spell called “Strike”. You unlocked the spell when you completed Chapter 8 and can now use it like the other spells as follows.

  • Equip the magic wand and change the spell using the L button (Nintendo Switch).
  • Now set the spell “Strike” in the selection wheel and use the Y button to cast it in front of the boulder.
  • This will destroy the boulder and you can enter the new “Frozen Farm” area, which, among other things, also contains a new house.

By the way, the large pieces of fire or lava in the area can be removed with the charm spell, similar to the large pile of lava in front of the fire caves. After completing Chapter 8 and unlocking the frozen farm, the credits roll the next day. But the game is not over yet, because you can now take care of the other side activities in the game.

Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds – Here you can farm badger bones and skins (Badger Bone & Skin Farming Locations)

Badgers are among the animals you will find in Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds can hunt. They can be found in various locations in the new area and their skin/fur and bones are used for crafting materials. They are white which is why they are often difficult to spot in all the snow. What’s more, they are rather rare. Read on to learn where you can farm badger bones and hides to make hunting easier.

Locations of badger skins and bones

Unlike what other games have taught us, badgers are in Horizon Zero Dawn quite peaceful and safe. If you approach them, they will try to run away. But since they have short legs and the snow is quite deep, they are not very fast. That’s why hunting is all about knowing where to find them. Badgers are unlikely to be able to escape Alloy, but they are quite difficult to spot even if you stand close to them.

Since these animals are rare, you should invest a point in the Expert Carver skill, which increases the chance of animal parts being dropped. A really easy lair to farm is in the Cut. It is located on the southern edge of this region, a little east of the passage that connects it to the rest of the map. You should definitely use the scanner to locate the exact location of the badgers as they are really easy to miss.
