[GUIDE] : How to swim and snorkel in Animal Crossing New Horizons? Part one

With the arrival of the July update (stamped 1.3.0), Animal Crossing New Horizons brings two closely related new features: the ability to swim and dive. For you the walks in the water and the small underwater trips, you will be able from this Thursday July 3 to soak in the game. Yes, but how?

From when can we swim and dive?

You must have updated 1.3.0 before launching Animal Crossing New Horizons. Indeed, if the function is added in the game, it does not mean that you necessarily have the authorization to do it immediately. Marie will warn you during the island bulletin that swimming is finally authorized, provided you have the necessary equipment.

Getting your wetsuit

So you need special clothing to go in the water. The easiest way is to go to Méli & Mélo and go to the part of the store that sells tools, seeds and other objects that are not directly displayed on the screen. It will also be the occasion for the duo to explain to you exactly how to swim and dive.

Be aware that if the base jersey does not suit you, you can find other models with a little patience. You can wait the next day for the stock change or order elsewhere and wait for delivery. The Nook Shopping offers another combination for 3,000 bells in its Selection of the day section.

Getting your diving mask

The wetsuit allows you to swim but you still won’t have access to snorkeling which is the most interesting part of this Animal Crossing New Horizons update. You therefore need a mask which is unfortunately not on sale at Méli & Mélo. Luckily Nintendo has it all figured out and sent you a mask in your mailbox.

Here too, you also have the option of redeeming 500 Nook Miles for a Nook Inc. Snorkel Mask.

How to swim faster in Animal Crossing New Horizons

I like to swim when the weather is nice, don’t I? Although I have always preferred to swim in pools by the ocean; the water on the beaches near me was always green and filled with algae… Fortunately, the waters around your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island are crystal clear and ripe for exploration. There is a lot of water to cross though, so here’s how to swim a little faster Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The ability to swim in the ocean around your island has been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in one of the summer updates. Getting in the water is as easy as walking the beach or jumping off a rock face or dock. However, before you can enter the water, you will need to purchase a wetsuit from Nook’s Cranny. Once in the water, you might notice that getting around is a little different than walking around the island. Which… shouldn’t really be that surprising, since that’s how it is in real life.

These same commands apply when diving underwater with the Y button; hold A for a basic stroke, press it repeatedly for a faster. How to swim in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has just launched the first wave of its summer update, which means you can now swim and snorkel in the ocean around your island. But you can’t dive straight without preparing yourself. In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find a wetsuit, how to swim and snorkel, and what to do with sea creatures and other rare finds.

How to get a wet suit

You cannot swim in Animal Crossing: New Horizons without a wet suit. To purchase a wetsuit, go to Nook’s Cranny. The wet suit will be available for purchase in the cabinet where you usually purchase tools, seeds, and wallpaper / flooring.

The wet suit costs 3,000 bells. You can also purchase a wetsuit from your Nook Stop terminal for 3,000 bells. They come in new designs everyday, so you can keep checking out if you don’t like what you end up on. Your Nook Stop also offers a Nook Inc. drysuit for 800 miles.

To equip the wetsuit, simply select it from your inventory, press A, then select “Wear”. The wetsuit will be fitted directly onto your clothes, so you don’t need to manually remove shirts or stockings to wear it. Your shoes and socks or tights can still be fitted – you can still swim in them, but if you want to take them off or swap them for something more suitable for the beach, you’ll have to do it manually.

Once your wetsuit is wet, you are ready to start swimming!

How to swim

Once you’ve purchased a wetsuit, Timmy and Tommy will give you a quick guide to swimming, but if you accidentally skipped it or can’t remember, we’ve covered the basics below.

To swim, you need to head to one of the beaches in your ocean. There are two main ways to enter the ocean: wading from the sandy beach or diving from your beach rocks, that narrow strip of land jutting out into the ocean or your pier.

Either way, you will have to run against the water and press A to enter the water. (You must have all tools not equipped.) To continue swimming press A. Each time you press A you will make a stroke, but if you simply hold A you will continue to paddle. You can use the left joystick to move. If you don’t press anything, your character will only walk on water. While walking you can still use the analog stick to paddle lightly, but you will be moving very slowly. Your character will never get tired of walking on water, so don’t worry about floating if you get tired of pressing A.

To get out of the water, you have to swim to a sandy beach. Just swim to the beach until your character reaches land and can get out of the water.

How to dive

No need to swim in Animal Crossing: New Horizons if you can’t dive.

To dive, just press Y while you are in the water. Your character will dive under the waves, and from there you can just use the usual swim controls to move around – A to swim, joystick to move. If you want to rise to the surface, press Y again, but don’t worry – your character won’t run out of oxygen and will seek air when they need it, so you don’t have to time your dives. .

How to catch sea creatures

New swimming and diving features are all about exploring the ocean around your island, which means there are new sea creatures to catch and rare treasure to find. All you need for this is your wetsuit – no netting or any other tools required!
