Cyberpunk 2077 Wanted Level stars – the police explained

The police in Cyberpunk 2077 is a factor that you should always consider, even if you are playing a mercenary who does not always obey the law. In general, you rarely run into the police, it is mainly the crime gangs that demand your attention.

But what if you accidentally run over a pedestrian walkway? Or one of those grenades you throw at an enemy accidentally ends up at the feet of a bystander? Then the police take action. You can read how hard the police are after you blue stars (1) next to your mini-map. These indicate your Wanted level.

The star system that indicates your Wanted Level is similar to that of GTA 5. They show how the police are after us. When the first star appears, a police officer and combat drone will appear in your area. They will shoot you without warning and you cannot surrender. Either you beat the cop (and make yourself worse), or you walk away.

The more police officers you take out (or innocent victims you make), the more stars you get. At two stars, more police officers will appear to attack you. At three stars cyborg police officers appear, who are already a lot stronger.

The maximum number of stars for the police is a Wanted Level of four stars. Then the Elite officers (2) in action. These can move very quickly and are definitely not easy to beat.

Escaping the police is pretty easy. You can see this as a good thing, but there are undoubtedly people who miss the challenge of games like GTA to escape their Wanted Level.

The only thing you have to do is drive away. If you do manage to get into a car, you can most likely walk away from the situation without trying too hard. The police do not use police cars or other vehicles to chase you. After a few seconds you will notice that the stars that indicate your Wanted Level start to shine and lose their color. Then they disappear completely.

However, remember that cars can be destroyed. If you summon a car in the middle of a shootout with police officers, there is a chance that they will destroy this car before you can get in. So you have to get behind the wheel as soon as possible, and best when the first star appears.

Need for Speed Unbound Lower wanted level: delete heat level?

Anyone who has already driven one or two races in the new Need for Speed Unbound will certainly have already made the acquaintance of the police. Depending on the offense or which race you have run and whether it is day or night, the wanted level can increase from 1 to level 5. While it is usually quite easy to outrun and escape the police at the first two levels, it becomes more difficult at the higher levels. This is partly because the police are reinforced with better vehicles and there is even a helicopter circling above you, which you can’t shake off so easily. In this situation, the question often arises: How can you lower the wanted level and get rid of the police completely?

NfS Unbound: Lower the wanted level and delete it?

If you manage to get out of the police’s field of vision and escape, the wanted status remains intact and the police continue to search for your car. While most races increase the wanted level, especially the night races, there are also some activities that can reduce the heat level. This includes some activities such as taking a car from A to B, which can be used to reduce a heat level of 5 to level 3. Otherwise, you can only lower and reset your wanted level by either going to a garage or hiding place and taking the money you earned during the session to safety, or by allowing yourself to be arrested by the police. If you get caught by the police and arrested, then the money you earned in the session is lost.

Unlike in other racing games or open-world games like Grand Theft Auto 5, in NfS Unbound you cannot get rid of the wanted level from level 2 onwards and completely remove it by simply hiding somewhere, turning off the engine and waiting. There are also no NPCs or buildings where you can lower or reset the wanted level for payment.

If you can’t escape the police at wanted level 5, we have a little trick on the next page that you can use to always escape the police.

Tip: You can use this trick to quickly earn money in Need for Speed Unbound.
