What is “Varyag”
Robert Eggers is a director, as they say, not for everyone. In his two films he pays much more attention to the characters’ inner experiences than to action and special effects. The trailers looked all the more unusual like “Varangian” – a straightforward, brutal and straightforward film about revenge, blood and battles. The videos skillfully mislead, hiding the main thing – the new picture is not a fantasy action film, but a psychodrama.
Of course there are fights, and they’re cool. However, it quickly becomes clear that this part of the film is not the main part. The director is more interested in exploring the characters’ personalities and pushing the atmosphere. Sometimes the narrative becomes snappy and abrupt, and other times the characters just stare at the camera for a while (hello new Batman). All of this is done intentionally and allows you to almost physically feel what is happening.
A seasoned viewer will feel something familiar in the plot from the first few minutes, and for good reason. The protagonist is Prince Amlet, who became the Icelandic prototype of the same Hamlet from the play by William Shakespeare (William Shakespeare). The director, of course, seriously reworked the original source, adding color and making the Varyag more dynamic, but the theatricality remained. The characters speak in old-fashioned and flowery phrases, and the action is divided into acts, each of which has a clear beginning, climax and finale.
Seeing something like this in 2022 is very unusual, but the more valuable Varyag is for the cinema. The film combines incompatible things, but remains understandable and accessible to both the general audience and connoisseurs.

An important plus point is that the themes raised in the film about the dismantling of medieval Vikings are unexpectedly relevant and close to modern man – the choice of life priorities, the negative influence of parents, the inevitable responsibility for actions. Even if you have previously watched exclusively attraction films such as Sonic 2 at the Movies or Project Adam, Varyag will not leave you indifferent.

The plot seems too simple at first. The king returns to the castle after another war. The people and soldiers celebrate, the queen is happy about her husband and the little prince is happy about the arrival of his father. After the feast, Vladyka confesses to his wife that he is seriously wounded, so it’s time to prepare his son as his successor.
The king takes an oath from Amlet – if anything happens to him, the prince must avenge his father. Almost immediately the ruler is killed by his own brother and the boy flees. He must gain strength and experience to take revenge, save his mother and kill the traitor.
The plot of “Varangian” is presented schematically, showing events only from the perspective of a child in trouble. Connoisseurs of Hamlet’s misadventures will see direct parallels with the classics, but further stories differ, so it will not work to fully predict the plot.
The drama turned out to be personal and even chamber – we will only see four locations and a small group of characters. However, there were some strange plot twists. For example, the whole arc with the search for a “special” sword looks illogical and too theatrical. In order to forgive the director for such decisions, one must regularly remember that “Varyag” is not a historical-realistic film, but a legendary epic.
Players will definitely remember Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Ubisoft’s hit was criticized for being overly romanticized with Viking imagery. Always clean, noble and friendly pirates even went on raids carefully to avoid casualties among the civilian population.
There is nothing similar in Varyag. Before us lies a banal and brutal story with inglorious deaths and dirt. The parallels are reinforced when it is revealed that Amleth is called “The Wolf.” Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has also been linked to this beast. It’s a shame, but we’ll probably never see a character as harsh as a young Varangian in Ubisoft games.
In general, the story develops logically. The characters make the right decisions and the ending is the natural result of a protracted conflict. Even local magic that adds mystery to events looks more like a visualization of medieval beliefs and a broken psyche than real witchcraft. The director repeatedly demonstrates to the audience how far blind trust in the divine plan, evil spirits and oaths can lead. This has now become an important part of people’s lives back then, which has a further positive effect on the atmosphere.
“Varangian” is that rare case where the simplicity of the story doesn’t equal failure. Many modern paintings are oversaturated with events and details. Meanwhile, the legends and myths of ancient times did not require a large number of characters and plot twists to evoke emotions in people. Robert Eggers reminds us of this masterfully.

According to our research, similar to its predecessor in the form of NfS Payback, there are no integrated cheats in the new Need for Speed Heat. So you can’t unlock everything at the push of a button and cheat money, at least as far as the console version on the PS4 and Xbox One is concerned.
Similar to its predecessor, it will probably only be a matter of time in NfS Heat before the first glitches appear in the game, with which you can earn money faster or level up very quickly and farm REP points. However, so far we have not been able to find any working glitches.
Need for Speed Heat: Cheating via Trainer?
Unlike the PS4 and Xbox One versions, you can cheat in the PC version of Need for Speed Heat, although not using cheat codes, but rather using a trainer. Just a few days after the release, the first trainers are available on various websites with which you can, for example, get infinite nitro, freeze opponents or deactivate damage. We haven’t been able to find a working money cheat here yet, but that will most likely only be a matter of time.

In Need for Speed Heat there is again a large selection of different cars. You can gradually unlock the cars by collecting more REP points by racing at night and thus increasing the REP level. The REP level not only unlocks the cars at the car dealer, but also other parts for performance tuning and optics tuning. Under the “Optics Tuning” you will find things like this, similar to some other Need for Speed parts Nitro paintthe Tire smoke but also one Underbody lighting (just called Neon in the game) and that Air suspension. Upgrade KDE Plasma 5
With each release, KDE Plasma 5 gets performance improvements. Adjust desktop effects
One of the most common reasons why KDE Plasma 5 slows down on low-resource computers is graphical effects. They take a significant toll on system resources (mainly your GPU). Therefore, a quick way to speed up the KDE Plasma 5 desktop is to drastically reduce or disable fancy graphical effects on the desktop.
To disable graphical effects in KDE Plasma, press the Windows key on the keyboard and type “Effects”. Launch the application that is labeled “Desktop Effects”.
Once in the effects area of the desktop, you will be able to see many of the graphical effects that the KDE Plasma 5 system uses. Scroll down and uncheck the boxes next to all enabled effects and you should see a slight increase in speed and performance.

Composite effects are awesome in KDE. They add shadow and depth to your applications. These effects also add a beautiful translucent effect to open windows (when you drag them) and other attractive effects.
It goes without saying, but these compounding effects play a big role in making KDE Plasma slow, especially on low-end computers. Fortunately, the KDE developers make it easy to disable compositing.
To disable composite effects, press the Windows key and search for “Composite.” An app icon labeled “Composer” should appear. Click on it and you will be taken to the Plasma Desktop Composite Settings.
Inside the Composer window, uncheck the box next to “Enable composer at startup”. Then click on the “Apply” button, close the window and restart your PC. When you log back in, the compositing effects will be turned off, which will speed things up.
Uninstall Akonadi
KDE has a central database system known as Akonadi. It’s a solid service and helps many applications access information on the Plasma desktop. While you won’t notice Akonadi running in the background in KDE if you have decent computer specs, those with lower-end machines may notice that it’s slowing down your KDE session at times.
Uninstalling Akonadi and disabling the database system is very easy, but it differs depending on which Linux distribution you are using. To disable the service, open a terminal window and follow the command prompts that correspond to the operating system you are using.

Switch window managers (optional)
The Window Manager plays a huge role in how heavy a desktop environment is. In KDE, the window manager is not inflated by itself. However, replacing it will make a big difference to memory, GPU, and CPU usage, so it’s a good idea to swap it out for something slimmer if necessary.
Openbox is an ideal replacement window manager to combine with KDE Plasma. Best of all, the Openbox developers provide a KDE/Openbox session, so no configuration is required. To get your tuned KDE/Openbox session, open a terminal window and follow the instructions next to the Linux operating system you’re running Plasma on.
Note: You should only switch from the KDE window manager to Openbox if you have gone through this list and are still running into a slow KDE session.

Log in to KDE/Openbox
To log into your new KDE / Openbox session, click on the KDE application menu and then click on the logout button. Once you have signed out, you will see the login screen. On the login screen, find “session” and click the dropdown next to it to reveal the desktop sessions that are available, then select “KDE/Openbox”.
After selecting the “KDE / Openbox” option, click on your username and enter your password to log in. When you’re done logging in, you’ll see the KDE Plasma 5 desktop, but with Openbox, a much lighter window manager.

It’s quite simple, because in addition to the integrated speed test when setting up an Internet connection and the connection test, you can also use a trick to carry out a speed test with another provider using the integrated and still hidden browser. We have already written a detailed guide on how to open and use the browser on the PS5. Below we have summarized the steps again in short form.
Start the PlayStation 5, open the settings and select the menu item “Connect to other services” under “Users and accounts”.
Then select the sub-item “YouTube” (no YouTube account must be linked yet) and after “Link account” DO NOT enter the access data, but click on the “Data protection” link below.
On the data protection page you can now use the menu button (3×3 or 9 dot symbol) at the top right to open the Google search and search for a speed test, for example speedtest.net.
If you now carry out the speed test via the PS5 browser, then not only the download speed but also the upload speed corresponds more closely to reality than the results from the integrated connection test.
In summary, one can say that the upload speed test on the PlayStation 5 in particular is probably not entirely correct at the moment and shows a significantly lower bandwidth than is actually the case.
