Need for Speed Unbound: Play split screen for two on one console?

Can you play the new Need for Speed Unbound in split screen? Is there a game mode in NfS Unbound that allows two players to play together on a console in front of a TV with one player offline? This may be the question asked in the last few days by one or other player who has bought the new Need for Speed part for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One or even the PC. In addition to a single-player mode with an extensive campaign, the game of course also has an extensive multiplayer mode. When it comes to multiplayer, the question that often arises is, what does offline multiplayer actually look like and can you also play NfS Unbound in split screen?

Offline multiplayer and split screen?

The short answer to the question is, no, the new Need for Speed Unbound does not have offline multiplayer. As in the last NfS part Heat, there is no split-screen mode in the new Unbound where you can play together with another player on one screen. This applies to both the PC and console versions on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

Since NfS Heat didn’t get split-screen support even after the release, you probably shouldn’t have the highest hopes that anything will change in the new NfS Unbound in the future. If you want to play Need for Speed Unbound with friends, you can only do so via online multiplayer. Thanks to crossplay support, you can now play together on the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series regardless of platform.

If, contrary to what is currently expected, something changes regarding offline multiplayer and split-screen mode, we will of course add the information here.
