Razer Blade 14 (2023): Ryzen 9 7940HS and an RTX 4070 in 14 inches

Razer announced the update to its most compact and powerful portable computer, the Razer Blade 14 (2023). This equipment now incorporates one of AMD’s top-of-the-range CPUs combined with a high-end NVIDIA GPU. All this is linked to a compact design thanks to the fact that it is built around a panel of 14 inches.

The result of this is to have a team of 17.99mm thick in its thickest part. As far as weight is concerned, it throws 1.84 kilograms. It’s obviously heavier than many other models of its size, but it makes sense considering the cooling needs for its high-performance hardware.

We start with the screen, where the 2023 model offers only one option. This option goes through a Quad HD+ resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels at 240 Hz. This has a response time of 3 millisecondsa luminosity of up to 500 nits, and covers the DCI-P3 color space at 100%. This panel can be propelled by means of a processor AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS with 8 cores and 16 processing threads at 5.20 GHz under the AMD Zen 4 architecture. It integrates an AMD Radeon 780 iGPU. As dedicated graphics, an NVIDIA GeForce can be used RTX 4070 Laptop or GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop.

The rest of the hardware is completed with 16GB/32GB of memory 5,600 MHz DDR5 RAM upgradable up to 64GB. We ended up with a NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD storage drive. with 1TB capacity. At the wireless connectivity level, we have a Qualcomm WCN6856 module that provides Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3. The rest of the connectivity is completed with 2x USB-C 4.0 ports2x USB 3.2 Gen2 and an HDMI 2.1 video output.

All this is powered by a 61.6 WHr battery that promises up to 10 hours of autonomy. Of course, the laptop is accompanied by a classic power supply to supply up to 230W of power to squeeze its performance.

In addition to portability, one of the strengths of the Razer Blade 14 (2023) is being able to charge from 0 to 80% in just 1 hour. The refrigeration system is made up of a steam chamber that occupies 59% of the surface. This is accompanied by a configuration of double fan blower. The aluminum and magnesium chassis has two air inlets and outlets.
