The new Razer Blade 14 ‘gaming’ laptop, with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor, will arrive on June 20 for 2,800 euros

Razer has presented its new laptop designed for gaming Razer Blade 14, which ensures great power with the AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics, as well as a range of up to 10 hours with its 68 battery. 1 Wh, all for 2,799.99 euros.

The technology company has defined this new model as a device focused on gaming users and creators looking for “high performance in a compact and fully transportable design”.

Thus, the Razer Blade 14 stands out for the power driven by its AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor and its Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics, as well as fast DDR5-5600MHz SO-DIMM memory. With these characteristics, Razer has designed a laptop that is capable of supporting very demanding games and creative workloads, as it has pointed out in a statement.

As for its design, it has a 14-inch QHD+ screen with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 screen-to-body ratio. Likewise, it has a response time of 3ms and AMD FreeSync (TM) Premium, which allows for a crystal-clear gaming experience.

Also, the screen achieves a maximum brightness of 500 nits and DCI-P3 color space coverage of 100 percent, in order to obtain “rich and detailed” images. With all these features an “immersive” experience is achieved, with depth and color contrast.

On the other hand, Razer has stressed that it is the “most portable” chassis of this line of ‘gaming’ laptops. So much so, that it has a thickness of 17.99 millimeters and a weight of 1.84 kilos, which makes it easy to transport and use “anywhere”.

The new Blade 14 has been presented in both classic matte black and white (Mercury white). In addition, it is made with an anodized aluminum body, which ensures rigidity and durability.

What the company has highlighted the most is its new processor and its graphics processing unit. Specifically, the Razer Blade 14 uses an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor, which increases its speed up to 5.2 GHz.

As for the GPU, the device features the GeForce RTX 4070 laptop graphics card, which is capable of up to 140W TGP. That is, thanks to the capacity of this GPU, more graphics power is offered per cubic inch. In addition, this GPU is capable of taking advantage of Nvidia DLSS 3 frame generation powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), thus “multiplying its performance even more”.

In addition, the Razer Blade 14 also includes AMD Ryzen AI, the first dedicated AI engine on a Windows x86 processor. Thus, AMD Ryzen AI is integrated directly into the processor to handle AI workloads in a “faster and more efficient” way. In addition, as the company has explained, it also frees the CPU and GPU from “traditional” tasks that are not AI.

This feature means gamers and creators have faster multitasking capabilities, greater productivity, advanced collaboration, and improved efficiency.

On the other hand, the Razer Blade 14 processor also has Microsoft Pluton in order to guarantee security. With this, greater protection of user data is achieved, regardless of whether the laptop is used at home or in other places such as the office.

Added to all this, this device makes use of a custom designed vapor chamber cooling solution with 0.05mm exhaust fins. With this solution, it is possible to increase CPU cooling by up to five percent while maintaining the compact form factor.

As for its memory, the Blade 14 includes up to 32GB of ultra-fast DDR5-5600 MHz memory. However, the company points out that this memory can be made expandable up to 64GB. Likewise, for those users who need more storage, the device also allows upgrading the NVMe SSD from 1TB to 4TB.

LONG-LASTING BATTERY

Razer has also detailed that it pursues the goal of ensuring that all users, both gamers and creators, can customize their system to the point of “meeting their specific needs.”

The battery is another of the strong points of this device, which has a power of 68.1 Wh and ensures autonomy of up to 10 hours. Additionally, it includes a battery optimization feature within Razer Synapse. With this option, users will be able to keep the computer connected, but limit the charging capacity to protect the battery.

Conversely, for users who use the laptop outside of their home or office, it also includes fast charging support via USB-C, which reaches 80 percent in one hour.

On the other hand, the two front speakers of this laptop are located behind “flush laser milled” grilles, as detailed by Razer. The device also has a connection through the 3.5mm audio output that “further” improves the sound experience thanks to THX Spatial technology, which provides immersive positional audio.

The Razer Blade 14 will hit the market for 2,799.99 euros next Tuesday, June 20. However, it can already be reserved at Razer stores.

Razer has opened pre-orders for Blade 14 2023 with Ryzen 9 7940HS and RTX 40 graphics starting at €2,400.

He Razer Blade 14 It has long been one of my favorite gaming laptops, especially when it comes to extremely compact yet powerful options. For 2023, Razer has announced an update to the machine, bringing not only the latest RTX 40-series graphics, but also the anticipated new AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor.

I call it “ambitious” because it was an attempt to shrink the popular Razer Blade formula down to something even smaller: a true “stealth” gaming laptop and a great vehicle for AMD’s Ryzen platform.

New processor and graphics options are claimed to bring more performance, of course, and we’ve already seen how good these new RTX 40-series graphics are. On the CPU side though, the Ryzen 9 7940HS also has much hype behind. It’s another one of AMD’s 35-watt pieces, built for efficiency in designs like this, but also with plenty of power under the hood. These Zen 4-based chips are pretty hard to come by so far, only being announced in the competing Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 so far.

Interestingly, the Razer Blade 14 now stops at an RTX 4070 in terms of GPU. In previous generations, for example, the laptop offered configurations with up to an RTX 3080 Ti. For now, it looks like Razer is saving the RTX 4080 and 4090 for the larger laptops in its lineup. It’s worth noting that Asus has also started offering the ROG Zephyrus G14 in an RTX 4090 configuration.

In addition to the spec upgrade, other changes to the Razer Blade 14 this year include a slightly larger battery (now 68.1 watt hours), upgradable memory (up to 64GB), and options for a faster refresh rate display (now a 1600p 240Hz panel). It’s a little thicker and bigger this time around too, now weighing 4.05 pounds and measuring 0.71 inches thick.

The new Razer Blade 14 starts at $2,400, a significant increase from the $1,800 starting price of last year’s model, which continues to sell at that price.
