The PS4 is approaching a million in Japan

Although we celebrated one year of life of the PlayStation 4 in the USA and Europe a few days ago, Japan will still have to wait a few weeks before being able to blow out the console’s first candle. We learned today that in forty weeks of marketing, 809,074 units have been sold across the archipelago.

As shown in the graph available below, after a great start, the machine experienced a spectacular fall and stagnated at a rate that Sony would undoubtedly like to see it take off very quickly, like what is happening in the rest of the world.

As we can see, the last three weeks of the console’s life seem a little better than the rest of the year with a score beyond 10,000 machines sold. Considering the fact that console sales in Japan increase significantly in the weeks of Christmas and New Year (mainly due to “Otoshidama,” the tradition that invites parents to donate their money for children on New Year’s Day), If Sony manages to maintain weekly sales at more than 10,000, they will total 90,000 machines during the end of year holidays (which is certainly achievable looking at historical data), the console could thus get very close to the million units sold over the year.

A dongle for the PS4 Jailbreak approaching?

Since the end of last year, we have known that different groups of hackers are at the bedside of the PlayStation 4 in order to break through its security. As we were able to see in the video, the FailOverFlow team is able to run Linux and run a Rom of the Pokemon game. However, the team announced thatshe would not make her technique public to achieve this feat, but only their Linux patch for the PS4.

CTurt for his part claimed to have succeeded in jailbreaking Sony’s machine, but later revealed that he did not wish to go any further in his research, while confirming that other groups of hackers were in possession of a PS4 Jailbreak and that they would make it public soon.

Today it is perhaps one of its famous groups which sets the web on fire by announcing its arrival on the PS4 case. The famous group Cobrawho made a name for himself during the PlayStation 3 era, reveals that he is preparing a new dongle for the PS4 and that the latter would be compatible with firmware 3.15 of the console.

Announcement: usb whistle February 20, cfw no later than March 20.

— Ha4cker4net (@H3ck34) January 21, 2016

The device is announced at the price of 70$ and should see the light of day in the during the month of February. Obviously, this statement should be taken with caution, because the group does not hesitate to say that the dongle will be on sale on Amazon, which we know will never be possible.

As always, we advise you not to embark on this adventure, remembering that playing with pirated games is illegal and that buying your games remains the best way to thank the developers for their work. From now on, we just have to wait to see what Sony’s reaction will be to this new attack against the security of its machine.

[HOT] : Windows 12 makes a quiet appearance in Build 2023, launch is approaching

During build 2023, which took place last May, Microsoft quietly teased the “next generation of Windows”. There is little doubt that this is Windows 12, the development of which has normally already begun. In addition, we already know several of the novelties that the operating system should bring.

Microsoft has yet to officially announce Windows 12 and yet rumors are already swirling about the future operating system. Indeed, if the Redmond firm redoubles its efforts to remain discreet around the project, it obviously cannot help but teaser it somewhat. Thus, as our colleagues from Windows Latest have spotted, this one included a seemingly innocuous little mention during its Build 2023 event.

“Next generation of Windows”. Here is what the attentive spectators were able to see during one of the conferences of the events. Of course, it could just as well be the next big update for Windows 11. But everything suggests that it’s actually a teaser for its successor, if only by the terms used. We remember in particular that the OS was previously renamed “prototype of the next Valley design”.

Microsoft discreetly reminds that Windows 12 is in preparation

This design, precisely, has already been dissected by the experts. One of the big novelties should be the floating taskbar, an experiment already tried in the first builds of Windows 11 before being abandoned. To do this, Windows 12 could allow removing system elements, such as the clock and the date. This option would give the user much more control over customizing their desktop.

Another major rumor announces that the Redmond firm would internally develop its own in-house chip, which would therefore compete with the Apple M3. Finally, the next operating system should give pride of place to artificial intelligence, with further integration of Copilot, in line with Microsoft’s efforts in this area this year.

Windows 12 should be released in 2024. In theory, development has already started.
