LS22 manure heap does not work and does not fill


Anyone who has bought a cowshed in Farming Simulator 22 and has already acquired a few cows can not only produce plenty of milk with the cows, but also produce manure and manure. When it comes to manure, the question often arises: what can you do if the manure heap doesn’t fill up? Why doesn’t the dung heap work even though it was placed right next to the cowshed? In this article we have created a short tutorial on what is usually the cause of the problem and how you can store the manure.

Dung heap doesn’t fill: why is that?

If the manure heap in the LS22 does not work and does not fill with manure even after days, there can be various reasons. The first thing you should check is whether the cows are in a good mood and have enough food or feed. You should also check whether the dung heap is close enough to the stable and whether it is the “right” dung heap. In construction mode there are two dung heaps. A pile is located under the “Buildings – Silos” category and a dung heap is located under “Buildings – Silo Expansion”. The right dung heap for the cowshed is the one under “Silo Extensions”. The other dung heap is probably used purely to store the collected dung.

By the way, if the dung heap is placed too far away from the stable, the message “A dung heap can only be placed near a stable” appears. When you are close enough to the stable, the price appears and the pile can be placed. If it still doesn’t work, you might want to move the stable one space to the left and right or forward and back so that you can try it again.

Fill and empty LS22 silo


Anyone who has grown a lot of grain in the fields in Farming Simulator 22 will sooner or later ask themselves where you can store the wheat, millet, barley or oats. Storage not only makes sense if you use the grain to feed the animals and want to store it temporarily, but also in order to achieve higher sales prices outside of the harvest season, you need a silo to store the grain safely and dryly. In this guide we show how you can build a silo in the LS22, fill it with grain and empty it again.

Buy and build a silo

Depending on which map you start on in Farming Simulator 22, there are usually one or two silos on the farm. Of course, you can purchase additional silos at any time, provided your virtual account balance allows it. The silos can be purchased via the construction mode (Shift key + P key) under “Buildings” and “Silos” as well as “Silo Expansions”. The silos from the manufacturer Unia can be filled relatively easily as described below, for the silos from the manufacturer Meridian you still need a screw conveyor.

There are also silo extensions that can be used to expand the storage capacity of the silos. The silo extensions simply have to be purchased close to the existing silos and the capacity is increased.

Fill and empty the silo

The simple silos can be filled more easily with a tipper or directly with a thresher via the pipe. To do this, simply drive/stand over the unloading point and the message “Start overloading” should appear on the screen. To empty the silo again, you can drive the tipper/trailer under the silo and when you are properly positioned under the pipe, “Start filling” appears and you can select the desired grain from the silo and empty it.

LS22 Change silo fill level


Anyone who has already harvested one or two grain fields in Farming Simulator 22 will certainly not always want to immediately sell the wheat or barley and oats, process them or use them as feed for the animals, but also store them temporarily . The silos, which you can buy in different sizes via the building menu and set up in a free place on your own property, are suitable for the interim storage of grain. If you want to change the fill level, you can plant new grain and unload it at the silo, but like in LS19 there is also an option where you can change the silo fill level using a “cheat”. So if you urgently need more grain, you can change the filling level of the silos at the push of a button using the following steps.

First of all, it should be said that the easiest and quickest way to change the silo fill level is when there is already grain in the silo. The corresponding silo can then be found by simply searching for the current fill level and editing the values. Alternatively, you have to search for the silo yourself in the XML file.

  1. Save the current game in the LS22 and switch to the main menu or end the game.
  2. Open the save game folder from Farming Simulator under “C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022” in Windows Explorer and, to be on the safe side, you should copy the folder to the side again as a backup in case something goes wrong.
  3. In the savegame folder, open the “placeables.xml” with a text editor such as Notepad++ and search for the silo.
  4. For each silo there is a element and below it a element. Under the you can see not only the “fillType” (what is in the silo), but also the “fillLevel” (how much of the grain is in the silo).
  5. To change the fill level, you can now simply adjust the fillLevel to the desired value, save the changes in the file and start the LS22 or load the save.

In the coming weeks there will certainly be the first mods that will allow you to change the silo fill level at the push of a button. We have not yet been able to find a console command for the fill level. As soon as we have new information on the topic, we will of course add it here.
