Next-gen version The Witcher 3 postponed again

The Witcher 3 is still regarded as one of the best open world games ever made. It’s no wonder then that a version for PS5 and Xbox Series X is in development. This one has just been postponed again.

According to the original plans, we should have gotten our hands on the PS5 and Xbox Series X version of The Witcher 3 last year. It was only postponed to the second quarter of this year. But now the game is not going to make it to that date either.

  • Get The Witcher 3 at home

The development of the new version is in fact taken over by CD Projekt RED itself. It was originally created by Saber Interactive, who also developed the Switch port of the game. It was the Russian arm of Saber Interactive that developed the port, so the changing of the guard seems possibly related to the war, if not confirmed.

The project is not completely restarted. But because CD Projekt RED has yet to assess how much work still needs to be done, the game has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set, but it should come as soon as possible.

What will The Witcher 3 bring to PS5 and Xbox Series X?

Basically The Witcher 3 on the new consoles is the same game you already know. You can buy it separately, or download a free upgrade for a last-gen version of the game. There will also be some new content that takes inspiration from the Netflix series.

The Witcher 3 isn’t the only Witcher game owners of the new consoles can look forward to. Recently, CD Projekt RED confirmed that a new The Witcher game is in development. Officially this one is not called The Witcher 4, because it would start a ‘new saga’ in the Witcher story.

WRC 23 may have been postponed, new details have surfaced

Leaker billbil-kun has been keeping a close eye on the development of WRC 23 for some time now. He likes to share his information via Twitter and on the French site Dealabs, but now he has to adjust one of his previous leaks.

Billbil-kun announced last May that WRC 23 would be in stores this summer, but we still haven’t heard anything about it. Now new information has surfaced which he came through Dealabs shares. The game has been postponed to later this year. The game will in any case be on the (digital) shelves before November 1.

Billbil-kun also managed to find out WRC 23’s Achievements/Trophies list. This list also reveals more about the game’s content. There is at least a career mode, Time Trial, Championship Mode, Rally School, Clubs and Quick Play Online. There will also be a new mode called ‘Moments’. This one will likely be similar to FIFA 23’s FUT Moments.

The list also mentions four cars that you can drive. These are the MINI Cooper S, Lancia Stratos, Citroën Xsara WRC and the Subaru Impreza 1995. In addition, seven rally events are cited: Monte-Carlo Rally, Rally Italy Sardinia, Vodafone Rally Portugal, Rally Sweden, Iberian Rally, Rally Mexico and Rally Estonia.

The full Achievements/Trophies list is as follows:
