There will be no DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage after its release, confirming Ubisoft’s strategy for the game

The Creative Director of the game has assured in a round of questions and answers that they are not working on downloadable content for Mirage

During the next month of October, the launch of the new installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise will take place, which this time will be called Mirage. Although the title was initially planned as a DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the development ended up becoming so big that it justified its release as an independent title in the franchise.

As we already know, the title will return to the roots of the franchise, offering an experience similar to the first installments of the same, and leaving aside the RPG approach that we have seen in games like Origins, Odyssey or Valhalla. In addition, the game will have a smaller size than these titles, something that Ubisoft has highlighted every time it has talked about the title, and what has led users to wondering if there will be DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the future.

There will be no DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage

In a Q&A posted on Reddit, the game’s Creative Director, Stephane Boudon, was asked about the possibility of us seeing downloadable content post-launch. Nevertheless, Boudon assured that there will be no DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage after the title hits the marketor at least, that at the moment they had nothing planned on this topic.

It is quite logical that there is no downloadable content for the title, especially if Ubisoft is faithful to its own approach with the game. As we mentioned, the studio not only initially proposed Mirage as a downloadable content for Valhalla, since it will star Basim, one of the Assassin’s that Eivor meets shortly after his landing on British lands.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a minor game, to the point that it will hit the market with a lower recommended retail price than the rest of Ubisoft’s catalog. Users would not receive very positively that the studio was already working on DLC apart from the game, especially due to the image they have given in this regard since the title was announced.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will hit the market next October 12, 2023, and will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC consoles. The title will have three different editions, with which we will have content for the title, as well as products designed for the most collectors, depending on which one we choose.
