Enable couch co-op in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Yes, you can also play Animal Crossing New Horizons in local multiplayer with two people on one console. Unfortunately, the whole thing doesn’t work in split screen. Alternatively, you can of course also play together with friends and other players in local multiplayer with multiple Switch consoles and in online mode. However, if you want to play couch co-op with a friend in front of a console, then you have to proceed as follows.
- First, you have to create a second profile or user on the Switch and this person must also have their own character in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
- If this is the case, then the first player can start the game as normal and load their save.
- Once in the game, open the NookPhone and select the app called “Call Residents”.
- Now you can select a resident, set up the controller assignment and play the game with two people.
The camera is always aimed at the first player, but the other players can move freely (by the way, it doesn’t only work with two people, but also with three and four people).
Splitscreen mode in Animal Crossing New Horizons?
As mentioned above, there is currently no split-screen mode in Animal Crossing New Horizons. You can’t enable split-screen view so that each player has a camera above their head.
