Open NfS Heat Live Tuning: Change drift setting

How do you actually open the live tuning in Need for Speed Heat? What exactly can you set with live tuning in NfS Heat on the PS4, Xbox One or PC? If you accidentally come across the control pad while playing and press the D-pad to the right, a small window opens with the live tuning. Using live tuning, you can change various settings directly in the game (and of course also in the middle of a race). These include, for example, steering sensitivity, downforce, traction control and drift style. The Drift Style setting is quite handy, as NfS Heat defaults to drifting using the throttle. To drift you have to pump the shoulder button, i.e. keep pressing and releasing it. The drift control will certainly not please everyone and that’s why you can switch the drift style from “Gas” to the classic control with the “Brake”. Changing the traction control is also very practical in most cases when drifting in the drift zones.

This is how you open the live tuning

  • PS4: Press the control pad to the right twice
  • Xbox One: Press the control pad to the right twice
  • PC: Press 6 on the num pad

In the live tuning you can now make various settings and, for example, change the drift style as described above or activate/deactivate the traction control.

If you want to close the live tuning, you simply have to press the control pad to the left twice. We have summarized further tips and tricks for Need for Speed Heat on our subpages. So we have listed the fastest cars in NfS Heat and we also show how you can farm REP and level up quickly.
