Not only Disney seems eager to make “flesh and blood” some of its greatest successes in animation. A few days ago, filming began on the live-action film adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon which will feature, among others, Geralt Butler as one of its supporting stars.
We learned about this project for the first time at the beginning of 2023, and although it soon raised doubts among the audience, even more so if we take into account how its last installment hit theaters a little less than five years ago, it seems that DreamWorks and Universal Pictures have made its development a priority with the goal of being able to have the film ready for release in mid-2025.
Geralt Butler repeats as Stoick the vast
This new feature film seeks to be a gateway to the franchise for new viewers, and although the details about its plot still remain strictly silent, it seems that it will quite respect the pillars of the original films, so much so that they wanted to have Geralt Butler again as Stoick the Vast after his unquestionable work giving voice to the character in the animation tapes. Mason Thames and Nico Parker will play Hiccup and Astrid, with Dean DeBlois returning to the saga to write and direct the adaptation.
How to Train Your Dragon was released in 2010, being a critical and audience success and presenting “a film packed with dizzying action, epic adventures and loads of fun,” its distributors sell, where we travel to a fantasy world where a young Viking finds himself. makes friends with one of the most dangerous enemies of his village, a fierce dragon he calls Toothless.
Both this film and its sequels were successful at the box office, making a total of 1,631 million dollars. We’ll see how the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon does once it hits theaters this year. June 13, 2025.
