Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Unlock Bow: Shoot Arrows

How to unlock the bow in the new Prince of Persia The Lost Crown? How to equip the arrows and use the bow? This is what one or two players might ask in the first few minutes of the game when they play the new Prince of Persia from Ubisoft. Early on in the game you walk past arrow stands where you can see some glowing arrows. The only problem is, there is no sign of a bow in the inventory. Before you can shoot an arrow, you first have to unlock the bow and this is how it works.

Unlock bow and use arrows

The bow is automatically unlocked within the first hour or two of the game during the story mission “Lost on Mount Qaf”. After the boss fight against Elrik (the wolf-like creature with horns) you come to a room with a corpse on the floor. The bow is lying next to the corpse and then the message “New ability unlocked – Menolia’s bow” appears. The bow is equipped straight away and if you have arrows in your inventory, you can equip the bow using the square button (PlayStation) or the X button (Xbox) and shoot an arrow. The direction of the arrow can be controlled with the left analog stick after drawing the bow.

Drawing the bow in the air also activates a small slow motion, making it easier to aim and target the enemy or another target.

Get arrows for the bow

Initially you can carry 10 arrows and once you have shot them all, you first have to find one of the arrow stands visible in the screenshot. You can interact with the arrow stand and use it to refill your arrow supply.

Is Prince of Persia The Lost Crown related to the story of The Sands of Time? Ubisoft…

They are new characters in a completely different historical period but being the next game in the Prince of Persia saga, it is difficult not to ask the following question: is the story of The Lost Crown related to other episodes of the series such as the classic jordan mechner or the acclaimed trilogy of the Sands? The Ubisoft Montpellier team has chosen to create a completely original story, but that does not mean that there is no relationship, as its director confirmed in an interview with 3DJuegos.

“There are some connections but this game explores the ancient age of persia, we wanted to delve deeper into its mythology. So she feels more like a prequel of sorts,” comments Mounir Radi. Still, he insists, “there are elements of The Sands of Time or even Jordan Mechner’s original.”

That’s why he invites players of The Lost Crown to thoroughly explore the settings in search of those connections. “There are some cameos to offer a nod to our players. There are lots of secrets scattered around the map, but I don’t want to spoil any surprises. What I can tell you is that players will discover that there are nods to 2D and 3D games.

Prince of Persia’s father has already played The Lost Crown

There was another unavoidable question. Have you seen Jordan Mechner this new Prince of Persia game? And the answer is yes. “He has played it. It is present in all progress of the game and we always show him how we progress”, explains a Mounir Radi exultant for having received the ‘approval’ of this video game legend. “When Jordan said ‘this is truly the design of a Prince of Persia game’ he was like hooray! So yes, he has seen it, but he is not involved in the development of The Lost Crown, ”he clarifies.

Jordan Mechner has seen it, but is not involved in the development

The Ubisoft creative was totally excited when talking about this relationship with Jordan Mechner, and took advantage of the moment to tell an anecdote. “It’s really exciting to work on Prince of Persia. Just a few days ago my wife said to me: ‘Do you realize that you are working on a game that you used to play as a child?’ And it’s a lot of fun, ”he says. “Obviously as a developer it is rare to work on the new episode of a series you have grown up with“. Does this cause you fear of pressure? “I wouldn’t say I’m scared, more like super excited.”

Presented during the last Summer Game Fest, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is released on January 18 on all current market platforms.
