LoL URF (Ultra Rapid Fire) mode explained: rules,…

URF is one of the most popular game modes in League of Legends and it will be returning soon. But what exactly is URF? Let’s go over everything you need to know about this fun mode, which will be playable in the first half of Season 14.

The first time URF (Ultra Rapid Fire) was released was in 2014. Since then, it was a fan favorite and was playable for 3 whole months (much longer than Riot Games actually anticipated ). However, the last time the game mode returned was in February 2023, almost a year ago now.

Now, URF will finally make its return for 2024. But what if you just started playing LoL and don’t really understand all the hype around this game mode. Well, we are here to tell you everything, including rules, release window, leaks, and anything else you could ask. So, let’s dive right in!

URF | All rules and changes

URF is a fast-paced League of Legends game mode designed for shorter, more action-packed matches in Summoner’s Rift. Champions can reuse their abilities extremely quickly and at no cost.

Awesome Buff from Incredibly Awesome Buffing

All champions have an insane permanent buff that changes the way the game is played. The two most important effects are on the one hand 300 haste abilities (equivalent to 75% reduction in recharge time) and on the other hand the removing mana and energy costs capacities.

For more details on the buff, check out the list below (there are tons of adjustments in URF). By the way, the buff is called “”. It’s something?

  • Reduced mana and energy consumptionby 100%
  • Healthcare costs reduced by 50%
  • +300 AH, Summoner Spell Haste and Item Haste
  • +25% tenacity
  • 60 Bonus movement speed
  • Bonus attack speed is multiplied by (1.5 for the melee/2 for distance)
  • Agreement on critical strikes 25% additional damage
  • Champions who use mana conversion 35% from Mana Bonus to Health Bonus, and 100% from Bonus Mana Regeneration to Bonus Health Regeneration

There may also be specific buffs or nerfs for champions, especially for URF. These are displayed as follows:

  • This unit treats X% from its normal damage
  • This unit receives X% from its normal damage

Some of the upcoming champion and rune changes for URF have already been leaked on Twitter/X:

URF changes:
– Ezreal Q cooldown refund reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.33
– Gragas E cooldown refund set to 0.25 seconds
– Tahm Kench Q cooldown set to 14-10 seconds.
– Zilean Q cooldown is set between 18 and 14.4 seconds.
– Zilean W cooldown is set between 25.2 and 10.8 seconds. pic.twitter.com/UXVT5j8TQH

– Spideraxe (@Spideraxe30) January 18, 2024

But what about all those heals and shields? So are Soraka and Karma directly OP? Below you can see other important adjustments specifically for URF:

  • Embargo on care
    • Healing effects are only 50% effective at the start of the game.
    • efficiency increases by 1% every 30 seconds, up to 100% efficiency after 25 minutes
  • Shield Overload
    • Shield strength (excluding Ultimate shields) is reduced by 30%

Champion cannon

Usually there is a cannon in front of each team’s fountain. By clicking on it, you have 10 seconds to jump anywhere up to maximum rangewhich is located on approximately half of the Summoner’s Rift map.

By getting started, you will fly to your target location and deal 120 to 460 (depending on level) magic damage and knock down all enemies in the area. Imagine your enemies dying just because you land on their heads. Just the thought makes us smile.

Gold Income, Level Cap and Early Redemption

Top 5 URF champions in League of Legends

View the gallery

Since the game will end much faster, Riot has added additional adjustments regarding gold income, level cap, and buyback option.

You obtain increased gold for minions. When a nearby minion dies, you will also receive an amount of gold, regardless of whether the last hit was successful or not.

Then the maximum level is increased to level 30which means you will get a lot more bonus stats for your champion throughout the game.

Last but not least, you can also go early to 8 minutesor go normally to 10 minutes instead of waiting 15 minutes. If someone is AFK, you can of course go to any point in the game after a few minutes.

Changes to Summoner Items and Spells

With all of these improvements and changes for URF, some summoner items and spells simply don’t fit the game mode and need to be adjusted or removed.

This is why articles like Gather, Dark Seal/Soul Stealer of Mejai And Vigilant Protection Stone/Vigilant Protection Stone are all disabled.

HitThe billing rate is reduced to 30 seconds from 75 seconds, and the cooldown time between charges is also reduced to 10 seconds from 15 seconds. Teleportation on the other hand it is direct disabledsince you can still use the Champion Cannon.

Changes in the Jungle

We’ve also made some changes to the jungle for Dragons and Baron Nashor:

Duck

  • Initial spawn time reduced to 4 minutes
  • Respawn time reduced to 2 minutes and 30 seconds
  • Health is dramatically increase

Baron Nashor

  • Initial spawn time reduced to 10 minutes
  • Respawn time reduced to 5 minutes
  • Health is dramatically increase
  • Grants both the Hand of the Baron (enabled recall + Baron buff) and generates a Eye of the Herald when he is killed

Alternative URF versions

There are additional alternatives in the game mode, such as URF like All random fashion and a Blind choice fashion. Usually only one of them is released within a certain time frame. But to be honest, Blind Pick URF is much more fun than other game modes, since you can have a lot of bad luck with your champions in All Random URF.

URF release date

Even though we don’t have an exact release date yet, we did receive some information from Riot Games itself. In their season 14, Escape from a riot that the URF, as well as One for All, will return in the first half of this year.

However, URF is rumored to be released with Patch 14.3 February 7 and will last until the end of patch 14.4 with the Lunar Revel 2024 event. In addition to this, we can also salute the new ADC Cover with patch 14.3. If not, what would be the best time for URF to release!

Exclusive leak: a glimpse of the Galaxy S24 Ultra before its time

Meet the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a revolutionary smartphone ready to redefine user experience. With a sleek design and unrivaled performance, Samsung promises a true renaissance in mobile telephony.

The rumor of a revolutionary new smartphone in the world of mobile telephony is brewing on the web. From the whispers of virtual hallways to the conversations of technology experts, everything seems to converge towards a major revelation: the Galaxy S24 Ultra from Samsung. Get ready to delve into the future, because a leaked video has brought to life some breathless speculation on what was previously thought to be just guesswork.

A design that contrasts with the past

The world witnessed, almost through the unexpected, a video that had the effect of an earthquake in the tech community. The sequence, although brief and already removed from the digital spaces where it had furtively surfaced, shows a device which seems to reconnect with a more refined and angular aesthetic, contrasting with the voluptuous curves of its predecessors. The screen of this technological jewel reveals itself to be remarkably flat, echoing a trend which returns to the fundamentals of ergonomics.

Is flat the new curvy?

Samsung fans may remember that the Galaxy S23 Ultra had already started this shift with a less curved panel than usual. But this time, the flat takes over, revealing almost imperceptibly rounded corners. The message is clear: Samsung could well redefine the contours of its future flagship, advocating sophistication in simplicity.

Refined borders and a discreet selfie sensor

By scrutinizing the details of this ephemeral video, we see that the borders of the screen are thinner than ever, highlighting Samsung’s desire to optimize viewing space. In addition, the central punch dedicated to the selfie sensor seems to have decreased in size, suggesting a renewed immersive experience.

When power meets elegance

The world of telephony is in turmoil, because the Galaxy S24 Ultra promises performance that exceeds expectations. Recent benchmarks reveal that future models in the S24 series could pack remarkable power, heralding a new era for high-end smartphones.

Pricing and availability: the mystery remains

Although pricing has leaked and suggests a slight increase over the previous model, the release date remains a mystery. Rumors speak of an imminent presentation, followed by availability for pre-order which could occur without warning. Aficionados of the brand will have to keep their eyes open and their ears alert so as not to miss the boat.

Conclusion: towards a new era of the smartphone

THE Galaxy S24 Ultra is at the heart of conversations, fueling hopes and speculation. With a design that seems to revisit the fundamentals of high-end smartphones, Samsung could well redefine our perception of technological luxury. Stay tuned, because the revelation is approaching, and it promises to shake up the standards established in the world of mobile telephony.

Deal : Six reasons why the Samsung S24 Ultra could be really good

On January 17th, Samsung will present its new S24 series at Galaxy Unpacked 2024 – we’ll reveal why the top model S24 Ultra in particular has what it takes to be the most important Android smartphone of the year.

Since the publication of the Galaxy S20 Ultra Samsung combines the best possible technology in its Ultra models Samsung 23 Ultra With this concept, it was the first cell phone to stay at number 1 for a whole year best smartphones from our test. The expectations for the successor Galaxy S24 Ultra are correspondingly high. Based on the current (already pretty watertight) rumors, we show the six most important strengths of the S24 Ultra.

1. Artificial intelligence for everyday life

With the S24, Samsung is making artificial intelligence (AI) the center of a new generation of smartphones. With the one from Samsung already officially announced Live translation will even be usable for telephone calls and will apparently even enable live translation in at least the most important languages. All S24 variants have this strength, but the Ultra has a little more performance under the hood for AI applications thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (see point 3).

2. More flexible telephoto shooting

The combination of two telephoto lenses and 200 megapixel main camera made zooming with the predecessor S23 Ultra very powerful. The triple optical telephoto and the tenx optical telephoto together covered an enormous zoom range and the 200 MP sensor had more than sufficient sharpness reserves for double zooming. But there was a larger gap between the two zoom lenses. When zoomed between magnification factors between 4 and 9, the 10 MP sensor of the smaller telephoto no longer offered sharp images. With the S24 Ultra, Samsung is reportedly adapting the telephoto pair better to the requirements of everyday life. The second telephoto intervenes at zoom factor 5 (with 5x optical magnification), and a 50 MP sensor should ensure sufficient sharpness, even at 10x zoom. This means that the image quality remains consistently high over a larger zoom range. The only weak point: the smaller telephoto unfortunately remains at only 10 MP, so the quality of photos with 4x zoom will not change much. The main camera will probably stay at 200 MP, but will supposedly spit out standard photos in 24 MP instead of 12 MP – if that’s true, Samsung learned this trick from Apple. According to rumors, a new sensor will also be installed that can absorb more light thanks to larger sensor pixels. The camera of the basic models S24 and S24 Plus is much simpler, only has a telephoto and no 200 MP main camera.

3. New super processor only on the S24 Ultra

The S24 series comes with new processors. But the S24 Ultra will probably be the only model that will benefit from the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It has what it takes to be the fastest processor in the Android world and, in addition to a slightly faster CPU (only clocked higher for Samsung), offers stronger graphics, for example for games and, above all, a much stronger neural processor unit (NPU), so that AI Applications run directly on the device even without the cloud. Let’s hope that Samsung gives the S24 Ultra an improved cooling system, like we saw with the Fold 5. The basic models S24 and S24 Plus also get a new processor, but “only” the Exynos 2400 directly from Samsung. In some details the Exynos is behind the Snapdragon, but the general level is probably similar.

4. OLED display – brighter than Apple!

The S24 Ultra is rumored to have a display with a brightness of up to 2,600 nits. This is a huge leap compared to the already good 1,750 nits of the predecessor, and therefore overtakes it Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max (almost 2,100 nits or candelas per square meter).

5. Wifi 7: More speed, less disruption

2024 will be WiFi 7 is picking up speed – also because Germany’s most important router manufacturer AVM is finally bringing new FritzBox models with Wifi 7 onto the market. Wifi 7 offers more robustness and speed, especially in congested metropolitan areas. Since Wifi 7 is integrated directly into the new Snapdragon processor, the base models could remain with Wifi 6E.

6. New design with titanium power

Model Apple: Like the iPhone 15 Pro models, the S24 Ultra comes with a frame made of titanium alloy. Basically, titanium as a metal is lighter than steel but stronger than aluminum. However, the test of the iPhone 15 Pro showed that titanium does not work wonders when it comes to robustness and scratch resistance – but the price could be slightly higher than its predecessor at 1,469 euros for the 256 GB version (smallest storage size). But titanium looks and feels great and will probably also come with a matt surface that is easier to grip. The new design also has measurable advantages: the display frame should be slightly narrower. And S-Pen users will be pleased that the display is no longer so rounded at the edges. This leaves more space for drawing and writing.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: An assessment

Faster, better camera, new WiFi – the S24 Ultra could actually top last year’s high-flyer. But if the new Samsung really wants to overtake its predecessor, it also has to score points in terms of battery, charging speed and the standardized camera tests (including the 4x zoom level, which is unfortunate for the S24 Ultra). However, the charging speed is likely to remain low and there can always be surprises, especially when it comes to the battery.
