Deal : Sunbooster presents power station with smart feed-in function

The Austrian company Sunbooster is now introducing the Powerstation Grid, a mobile power storage system that can store energy even without a direct connection to the balcony power plant.

Balcony power plants often produce the most energy when you are not at home. However, if the electricity generated is not used immediately, it is returned to the public grid virtually free of charge. To avoid this, more and more owners are deciding Balcony power plants for a power station. With mobile electricity storage, unused electricity from the mini PV system can be stored and used flexibly at a later date. To do this, however, you have to connect the power station directly to the balcony power station and place it on the balcony not far from the system. With the “Grid” the company Sunbooster GmbH now has one Power station on offer, which no longer requires a direct connection to the plug-in solar device.

Protected from the elements

Like that Press portal reports, the new grid power station from Sunbooster can be connected to any socket in the house. Control is possible via app via WLAN. Thanks to this function, you no longer have to set up the energy storage device directly next to the mini PV system on the balcony. The device is therefore no longer exposed to extreme weather conditions. This in turn has a positive influence on the durability and efficiency of the power station. In addition to two USB-A and USB-C slots and a DC input, the power storage also has three classic AC ports.
If necessary, the portable power station can also be used as an emergency generator or for camping trips and recharged with solar panels from Sunbooster and Sunnybag. Sunbooster advertises that the grid power station is the world’s first balcony power station storage with such a feed-in function. However, the manufacturer Anker has been offering a power station with a similar feature for a long time.

Classic power station with innovative function

According to Sunbooster CEO Stefan Ponsold, the device should pay for itself within four years when purchased, taking current subsidies into account. However, it remains questionable whether this payback period is realistic with an average balcony power plant. In addition, precise control of the balcony power plant storage only seems to be possible with an additional Smart meter possible. The storage solution can be particularly interesting for users who have more than two solar modules in use and hardly need any electricity during the day. Interested parties can check out the new Sunbooster power station on the Manufacturer website Pre-order for currently 1,082.50 euros or 1,249.92 euros including a 420-watt solar module.

Deal : Native Discount Smart TV: Don’t fall for these ads!

The offer sounds tempting: watch all television channels and streaming providers for a one-time fee of 49 euros. But there are doubts about its seriousness!

It’s not just electricity and fuel that are becoming more expensive, watching TV is also increasingly putting a strain on household budgets: for subscriptions to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix & Co. prices are rising and the broadcasting rights for sports are being distributed among more and more providers – all of whom are asking for additional payment. An advertising offer that can currently be seen on countless websites comes at just the right time: “Only €49 for all TV channels for life” it says full-bodied or “Cheap way to get all TV channels“. What’s behind it? Who’s behind it? And can that really be true? SamaGame took a closer look.

Smart TV: What’s behind this offer?

A mouse click on the advertisement leads to a website of the seller Native Discount with the title “TechnoMag”. After all, there is also “advertorial” behind it – a reference to an advertisement disguised as a magazine article. There is talk of a Swiss genius named Rémy, of Silicon Valley and of a start-up. There is also a small streaming puck that looks like an old friend. This is followed by a whole barrage of inaccurate formulations and promises about television channels and streaming apps. But everything remains vague; “TechnoMag” refrains from making any specific statements about certain providers such as Sky or Netflix, as does technical information about the streaming dongle shown. The website contains many inconsistencies that raise strong doubts about its reliability:

  • Photos: The product shown looks suspiciously similar to older versions of the Google Chromecast. Anyone who searches Google Photos for the right half of a photo collage from the Native Discount website will find the mirrored image in a test Chromecast Audio from 2015 on www.phandroid.com. The photo of the alleged genius is obviously a symbolic image with the keywords conference and presentation.
  • Product description: The smart TV invention is intended as a “satellite” or “relay” to provide access to all channels and offers that the start-up has allegedly acquired legally. However, this type of forwarding would be anything but legal – if it even works reliably. And it remains completely unclear which offers can actually be used.
  • Imprint: At the bottom of the post there is a link to the imprint, but it leads nowhere. The same applies to contacting the provider. The only working link leads to the order and payment page.
  • Provider: At the bottom of the order and payment page you will find links to contact details; on the corresponding pages you will find a telephone number with a British area code (+44), an email address and an office address in a free trade zone in the United Arab Emirates.

Is that really legal?

The blog and sales pages garnish the advertising with the usual ingredients of windy online shops: with alleged user quotes, with ongoing displays of alleged sales and a display of the supposedly still available number of items – which of course is visibly shrinking. In this way, the provider builds up pressure, so instead of thinking about it, it’s better to take out your credit card straight away. But given the number of inconsistencies, one can only advise against it. It is absolutely unclear what the hardware shown actually does. The manufacturer only reveals that the streaming puck has a USB port for power and a HDMI output for connection TV has. He doesn’t say a word about the operating system, functions and performance data.
There are also doubts about the promised television channels: everyone brings free-to-air TV programs Streaming stick for free on the television, which is available for less than 49 euros Amazon, Roku and other providers. On the other hand, offers that are usually paid for can never be legally viewed for free – regardless of whether they are pay TV or HD channels or content from large streaming portals. Even the most brilliant start-up founder can’t change that. In addition, orders with unclear addresses are always a risky business, if not a waste of money. So it’s better to stay away!

Android TV in x86 version exists: it is now possible to turn an old PC into a Smart TV

A Android TV version for x86 processors opens the door for anyone to turn an old PC into a practical Smart TV. With Google services and applications included, although without the possibility of having the Chromecast integrated, at least for now.

Android is developed for the ARM architecture, although Google created versions for x86 processors of this operating system (there is even a project that adapts it to PCs, Android x86). What we didn’t have was a Android TV version for CISC-type processors, a stumbling block that has been saved by independent developers. In this way it is possible to install the Google operating system for televisions on a PC, with all the possibilities that this entails. Now, it still has too many bugs to be 100% functional.

Remarkable possibilities, although limited in time

Image from RIMI 2k17 (XDA Developers)

The x86 version is an adaptation for PC processors developed by AmznUser444 Dev and posted on the popular XDA Developers forum. The version is fully functional and allows installation on a PC. Requires a 64-bit dual-core processor with at least 1.2 GHz speed, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 64 MB of video memory and a minimum resolution of 1,280 x 720. It is also recommended that you can connect to the TV if you want the Android TV x86 to be the player, but a computer monitor also works.

Since development is experimental, and evolution still has a lot of room for improvement, this version of Android TV for x86 SoCs has several problems. One of the main ones is that Chromecast built-in does not work, one of the notable hardware advantages with Android TV. There are also problems with video playback since there are native apps for that operating system that do not finish working, such as Netflix. Although, according to those who have tried it, the version of Netflix for mobile can be installed, that does seem to work.

This type of development allows you to take advantage of a somewhat old PC, although Windows probably offers more playback options than an adapted Android TV (and a Google TV is so cheap that it is probably not worth fighting with an old PC). Even so, it is still an important advance that should be tracked: you can download the latest ISO with Android TV 9 Pie from the project page.

Deal : Unistellar introduces the Odyssey smart space telescope

With smart telescopes from Unistellar, even laypeople can quickly achieve success in space observation. With the Unistellar Odyssey, a particularly versatile model is now appearing.

Planets, stars and galaxies: countless celestial bodies in space are waiting to be observed. However, this is not exactly easy for laypeople, as observing with conventional telescopes often requires prior knowledge and practice. It should be easier with automatic telescopes, such as those offered by Unistellar with the eVscope 2 and eQuinox 2. This means that even complete astronomy beginners can quickly achieve success – thanks to a smart app and automatic alignment. At CES 2024 (January 9th to 12th in Las Vegas, USA), the French manufacturer is now presenting the Unistellar Odyssey, a new flagship model that promises even greater convenience.

Reflector telescope without tricky adjustment

The new Unistellar Odyssey differs externally from its two previous models. Because with a weight of 4 kilograms and dimensions of around 43x20x13 centimeters, it is only half as heavy and only half as big as the eVscope 2 and eQuinox 2. Unistellar also wants to have improved the interior. The Unistellar Odyssey is said to be the first reflecting telescope that does not require regular manual readjustment of its mirrors. According to Unistellar, this is made possible by special optics developed in cooperation with Nikon, the Nikon High Precision Optics. Another advantage of the new Odyssey automatic telescope: Thanks to a new multi-depth technology and automatic focus, the Odyssey is intended to provide detailed images when observing nearby planets as well as distant galaxies and up to 150 million stars are visible make. This means that detailed images of Jupiter’s large red spot can be taken without changing the set-up, but the spiral arms of the vortex galaxy, 23 million light-years away, can also be observed. Thanks to a smart app, the celestial body to be discovered should always be just a few clicks away.

Into space via app

Because the free Unistellar app is the control center of the smart Unistellar telescopes. Users connect their smartphone or tablet to the Odyssey via a WiFi signal and activate the automatic alignment. Afterwards, countless celestial objects can be selected from a catalog and automatically controlled and focused by the telescope. The Unistellar star hunter determines where to point its lens based on the user’s GPS position and the current time. Using the app, users also observe the telescope’s current camera image and, if desired, take pictures of the observed celestial object and save them on the telescope’s device memory. The application also provides more detailed information about planets, stars and galaxies and suggests celestial objects to observe.

Price and availability

The Unistellar Odyssey is now available at a price of 2,499 euros. The smart space telescope is also available in a Pro version for 3,999 euros, which has an electronic eyepiece from Nikon. Stars and galaxies can therefore be observed not only via the tablet or smartphone, but also directly on the telescope. The Odyssey Pro will also soon be available in an eye-catching “Red Edition”. Its price is 4,499 euros.

Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag 2 with new design appears in online store

Samsung hasn’t officially launched the Galaxy Smart Tag 2 yet, but the design has already been leaked. An online store published images and specifications of the Bluetooth tracker.

New design of Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag 2 leaked

Samsung will soon release a successor to the Galaxy Smart Tag and Smart Tag Plus. Although this Bluetooth tracker has not yet been officially launched, we already know what it will look like. The British online store has simply placed the device online. This shows, among other things, that the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag 2 will have a new design.

While the old version was square with a small hole in it, its successor is elongated. Moreover, the opening is much larger, making it easier to attach it to your key ring, for example. The Smart Tag 2 is a bit like the signs you can hang on the door of your hotel room if you don’t want to be disturbed.

The webshop also confirms that the tracker uses Bluetooth 5.3, as we read earlier. This makes it more energy efficient and you don’t have to replace the battery as often. The location of your belongings can also be determined more accurately than with its predecessor. In addition, there is less delay in the signal. This is useful if you attach the Smart Tag 2 to your pet’s collar. You can then follow him or her closely.

In addition to Bluetooth, the tracker also has ultrawideband. If you have a recent smartphone from Samsung itself, you can detect the device with an accuracy of up to 10 centimeters.

Price seems to be going up

It is not yet known when Samsung will launch the Galaxy Smart Tag 2. However, we probably won’t have to wait much longer. According to Mobile Fun, the recommended retail price is approximately 70 pounds, or 80 euros, for two copies. That is slightly more expensive than the Smart Tag Plus. They sell for about 65 euros per duo. However, it is not clear whether the prices of the webshop are final.

13 tips for Amazfit and Zepp: get the most out of your smartwatch or smart bracelet

We are going to teach you some of the best tips and tricks for Amazfit and Zepp smartwatches, Huami smartwatches. Both are managed with the same app and they have almost identical configurations. So, we are going to go over the key functions to set up a new Amazfit and Zepp smartwatch, so that you can get the most out of it step by step.

This guide is general, so it works for almost all of the company’s models.. There might be slight differences between the one and the other (for example, if you have a simple bracelet you will have less functions than in a watch), but the vast majority of the tips and tricks that we are going to provide you are worth whatever device you have.

Set an alarm from your mobile

Amazfit and Zepp watches and bracelets allow you to set different alarms from the device itself. However, if we want to organize some alarms in a more comfortable way, we can do this process from the phone, to easily program alarms. Just open the Zepp (Amazfit) app and click on the “Enjoy” section. Here you will find as the first option ‘Alarm clock’, where you can program them in an easy way and send them to the clock.

Change the order of the menus on your watch

Amazfit and Zepp watches have various settings in the interface itself, although we don’t need all of the options they offer. To configure the content that we will see on the clock screen, just follow these steps:

Schedule push notifications with weather information

A very useful feature of the Zepp app is that we can receive push notifications with weather alerts. This will help us to know the weather changes in our area, even if we do not have weather apps on our mobile for this purpose.

  • Open the Zeep app on the mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • Enter Time setting
  • Tap City
  • If you want your current location to be used, check Obtain location automatically
  • If you prefer to enter the location manually, uncheck the box and search for the name of your city

Configure button behavior

Amazfit and Zepp watches usually have one or two buttons with different functions. If we want, we can change what happens when we interact with these buttons. To be able to modify these options, just follow these steps.

  • Open your watch menu
  • Go to setting or more
  • Select the function you want to assign to the button

Use the watch as a flashlight

A somewhat unknown feature of Amazfit and Zepp watches is that we can use them as flashlight. It may seem unnecessary, but in total darkness situations it is much faster to activate the clock flashlight than it is to unlock the mobile for this purpose. To activate the flashlight, you just need access the watch’s quick access menu and click on the flashlight icon. The panel will be fully illuminated and sufficiently bright with white light.

Search for your mobile if you don’t know where it is

From our Amazfit watch we can find our cell phone. We have to open the menu and click on “Find a phone”. In the case of Zepp watches, we have to open the quick settings menu and click on the phone icon, it will start ringing automatically.

Or search for the watch on your mobile

We can do the same process in reverse, to find our connected watch from the Zepp app.

  • Open the Zeep app on the mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • press Find a watch
  • Pay attention to the sound of the watch vibrating

Activate incoming calls

Some Amazfit watches and bracelets do not have the ability to receive phone calls on the device by default. portable, a basic function. We can activate it manually, to make sure we don’t miss any incoming calls when we have the watch on.

  • Open the Zeep app on the mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • Enter Incoming call
  • active Incoming call alerts

Enable app alerts

Likewise, in most cases the Amazfit app it does not inform about all the applications that we have installed on the mobile, but we have to select them manually.

  • Open the Zeep app on the mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • Enters App Alerts
  • Tap Manage apps
  • Check all the apps you want to receive notifications from

Eliminate inactivity notices

By default, Amazfit and Zepp watches They usually send notifications every hour if they detect that we are not moving. It’s usually quite complicated (at least if you work in the office) to get up every hour, so we can turn off these notices so they aren’t that intrusive.

  • Open the ** Zeep * app on your mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • Go into Inactivity Alert
  • Disable Inactivity Alerts

Unlock the mobile with the watch

If you wear the watch you can use it to unlock the mobile. This is thanks to Google’s Smart Lock, which allows you to set up the watch as a trusted device. So, if you take the watch with you, you won’t need to unlock the phone as it will happen automatically.

  • Open the Zeep app on the mobile
  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch
  • Click on ‘lock screen’
  • Click on ‘Go to settings’

You just need to go to the settings of the Zepp app, click on the smartwatch and click on ‘Bracelet lock’

Change the detection method

  • Enter Profile
  • Tap the name of your smartwatch

The best apps for your LG Smart TV with WebOS

Today we bring you a small compilation with the best applications for your LG Smart TV with WebOS operating system , so that you can install the ones you want to improve their functionalities. Unfortunately, the WebOS catalog is quite scarce in terms of applications, but we have managed to, as we did with Tizen televisions, bring you our list.

The idea is to offer you the most essential applications. Most of them are sure that you already know them well, although you will like to know that they are native to WebOS so that you do not have to connect any external devices or dongles to the TV to use them. But in addition to the famous ones, we have also included some lesser known ones that we have tried and it seemed to us that they deserve to be in the twenty that we include in the list.

We have tried that if you buy a WebOS TV, with this list you cover the most essential functions and the best ways to obtain all kinds of content. But as we always say in SamaGame Basics, if you consider that we have left out any other that you know and is recommended, do not hesitate to propose it in the comments section . Thus, all our readers will benefit from the knowledge of our Xatakers.

What smart TV to buy to play: best advice from the specialized editors of Engadget and 11 models from 300 to 1,300 euros

AccuWeather

And we start with what is one of the most popular weather applications in the field of smartphones, which also has its own application for televisions. With it you will be able to obtain weather information for any town in the world , perfect both to know if it rains tomorrow in your city and if you will be able to have a sunny weekend on the getaway you are planning.

The application will allow you to store your most visited locations to obtain detailed weather information, with radar or satellite, as well as the forecast for the next few days. There is little more to say, if you are one of those who wants to watch these things on TV, it is the best alternative.

Amazon Alexa

An application created by Amazon to turn your TV into a smart screen with Alexa. Using voice commands, you can make the same interactions that you do with Alexa on other devices, and even control other devices or your smart home from the TV. It also serves to put music or other content without having to search for anything, Alexa does it for you.

Amazon Prime Video

If you have Amazon Prime, you also have Prime Video, and with this platform access to hundreds of series and movies of all kinds. You also have your own productions, which without being as large as Netflix or having that halo of HBO quality, they try to find a balance between both concepts.

Another advantage of this service is that the remote controls of many high-end LG televisions have a dedicated button for it, which makes it extremely easy to access your catalog immediately.

Apple TV

Apple may have been one of the last to get to this of content streaming, but it is making a lot of effort and spending a lot of money on proper names to try to gain a foothold in the sector. Even so, it is an application a bit Frankenstein and confusing, since it really is like two services in one , something that if you are not used to it can confuse you.

On the one hand, there is Apple TV, the service that offers you a wide catalog of films and productions that you can buy or rent. And then you have Apple TV +, the streaming service created by Apple itself and with its own content. At the moment it does not have much, but it has great names in film and television.

BlackDove

One of the tricks of WebOS is its function of turning your TV into a digital frame on which relaxing pictures are projected. Well, with the application of the BlackDove platform, you will be able to take this concept to a new level. Your TV will have amazing artistic screensavers perfect to leave in the background while you’re together.

The application has a series of free backgrounds that will already serve to give a touch of color and distinction to the room. And in exchange for some micropayments, you will also be able to buy some more. But again, if you like the feature but don’t use it too much, the free model should suffice.

DAZN

DAZN is a streaming service dedicated entirely to sports broadcasts , such as the Premier League, Moto GP, the Copa del Rey soccer, UFC, boxing and more. Therefore, if you are a sports lover and you are subscribed to this service, its application for Smart TV will facilitate its viewing without having to resort to third-party devices.

Device Information

It is an application with which you can view a file with all the data of your television , from its measurements and resolution to the firmware version, through the network to which it is connected or the name of the specific model or even if it is connected to the Internet or your IP address.

Here I do not want to deceive you. The interface of the application is very ugly and takes very little use of the space you have on the screen. However, if you always want to have your most essential information at hand without having to resort to the classic of looking for the model on Amazon to get your file, it can be useful.

Earth Online

If you are fascinated by outer space, this is a great little application that you cannot miss. With it, you will connect directly to the live streams of the International Space Station without having to look for the specific applications where they are broadcast and the channel on which they are broadcast. It is to open the app and start to see the planet earth from space.

HBO

HBO is another of the largest streaming platforms in the world, and it is especially popular thanks to the high quality of almost all of its own productions . Against it, it can be said that the Smart TV application is not as polished as that of other competitors, and that it does not have a dedicated button like Netflix or Prime Video, but in its favor you have the undeniable reality that in its catalog there are absolutely essential series.

Internet Speed 2

An application as simple as it is effective. As its name indicates, it knows how to do a connection speed analysis of your TV. You will be able to know the PING, the download speed and the upload speed that are reaching the device.

“8K Ready” on a TV is not the same as real 8K: what are the differences and why is this label now just marketing

MyTuner

Ok, yes, your smart TV is already capable of capturing radio stations through the antenna, but you may not capture all of them or you prefer to have an interface that unifies them better. If so, MyTuner is an Internet radio application with which you will be able to capture the most important stations in your country in a very similar way to their official website.

And there is more, because MyTuner also allows you to choose podcasts in your country, and if you are not satisfied, you can change the country to search for the main stations and podcasts of any country in the world that you select from your list.

Netflix

Netflix does not need an introduction either, as it is one of the best streaming services you can find. It is famous thanks to a good collection of world-class productions and international fame, and especially for the large amount of its own content it generates so that you always have something to see and that is not available on other platforms.

Its application for WebOS is practically the same as what you can find in other devices oriented to the television, and it does not lack functions. What’s more, Netflix has the honor of being one of the two services that has its own button on the control of many LG TV models of higher ranges.

Plex

Plex is one of the most loved services by all those who want to set up their own Netflix or their own Spotify. You just have to install its server application on the device that is always connected and with the content you want to see, and then you can see that content on any other device .

And of course, the native application for WebOS means that you will not need to connect external devices to the television to be able to receive all the content you have in Plex on it. A good solution for seriéfiles and music lovers, which improves with advantages such as the free movies offered by the service or its Plex Pass paid subscription to obtain even more benefits.

Rtve.es a la carte

Radio Televisión Española is not only a public entity, but the first television channel that began broadcasting throughout Spain. That makes this app interesting not only to watch contemporary programming with your favorite shows whenever you want , but you can also browse the vast amount of older content it offers.

Spotify

The quintessential music streaming service also has its place in the application catalog of your Smart TV with WebOS, which will allow you to listen to your favorite music on the TV. This can be quite practical especially if you have a good sound system connected to the TV, since you can get the most out of it.

Best of all, Spotify allows you to manually decide on which connected device you want to listen to the playback in its mobile application, which means that you can choose to play it on the TV and use the mobile app as a remote control . And it is not that the interface of the TV app is bad, but surely you control it better with your mobile.

This is how Dolby Vision IQ works, the system that comes to improve the image on compatible televisions.

SS IPTV

This is a great little update if you’re a fan of being able to watch IPTV channels. I have to say that I have been testing several apps to take advantage of this technology in WebOS, and this has been the easiest to use. You don’t have to register or do anything from your PC, all you have to do is write the URL of the PlayList with the channels you want to watch online and that’s it.

The application is of Russian origin, and when you install it you have a handful of channels from that country and access to all the national channels that reach you by antenna. However, you can create playlists in which you write down the URL from which you want to download them by hand. By the way, here is an open project with channels that you can add.

Twitch

Twitch has become a heavyweight in the world of video content platforms in its own right, specializing in live broadcasts and pampering creators, so many YouTubers have a Twitch channel. It is owned by Amazon, who has the benefits of Prime Gaming, formerly called Twitch Prime, available to its users.

Twitch will allow you to follow the channels of your favorite broadcasters so you don’t miss their streams, and if you want to support one of them, you can also buy a paid subscription from them to help them monetize. In any case, it is a perfect site for streaming video games or creators talking about their things.

YouTube

Although other platforms are winning battles such as broadcasting, YouTube is still the one where everyone has to be. This makes it essential when it comes to finding all kinds of free content, from our review videos to all kinds of music, outreach or entertainment videos.

Its version for Smart TV is quite acceptable, with an interface adapted to be easy to use with the remote control , option for subtitles and to navigate through all the channels that you have followed with your user account. All this with its free mode with ads or a paid version without them.

YouTube Kids

And we are going to finish with YouTube Kids, the version of YouTube designed so that the little ones in the house have a safe application to watch their favorite content. There are always creators who manage to bypass their algorithm, but generally, you will always find children’s content here. All this in a colorful and easy to navigate environment.

Comparison of the television of Movistar, Vodafone, Orange, Yoigo, Virgin and others: channels, price and advantages

Bonus: The rest of streaming services

And to finish, although I think we have covered the quota of streaming services quite well, you should know that ** webOS has apps for many other services available in Spain. For example, you have the Atresplayer, MiTele, Filmin and FlixOlé applications, there is also Google Play Video, Rakuten, and even LaLiga Sports TV for sports lovers.

New Movistar Smart WiFi 6 Go router: everything we know about it

Of all the routers that Movistar customers currently have, the most widespread is the HGU model with WiFi 5, but the most advanced is the xHGU with Wi-Fi 6. The latter, which the operator launched commercially a few months ago under the trade name of Smart WiFi 6, will soon coexist with a new variant.

According to Banda Ancha, Movistar has introduced some modifications to the equipment’s hardware and has renamed it Smart Wi-Fi 6 Go. Next, we will tell you everything we know about this renewed router and its future arrival on the market.

Same on the outside, slightly different on the inside

Movistar’s new Smart WiFi 6 Go router received certification last May and has already begun to be distributedin Spain. From Telefónica, they assure that they are deploying several thousand teams to do network stability tests.

Image | Broadband

It is, yes, a controlled deployment for clients who they still have an old ONT and routerSo the operator is taking advantage of this testing phase to update the old equipment that is still present in many homes.

The date of mass commercialization is not yet known, but they anticipate that will be availablein the coming months”. It is very likely that it will also end up reaching O2 customers, as has happened with other teams, but it will go on sale first with Movistar.

The price is not confirmed either, but we can get an idea by seeing how much does the Smart Wifi 6 model cost current: 50 euros if you install it yourself or 100 euros if you want a technician to come to your house to configure it and start it up.

And how is the new Smart WiFi 6 Go different from that current model? Its design is exactly the same, the only thing that changes is the WiFi. Instead of the Onsemi chips that the first generation mounts, the new variant (MitraStar GPT-2742GX4X5 v6) opts for those of the Airoha brand (owned by MediaTek).

With that, lose an antenna in the 5 GHz bandSo the new router includes four antennas in the 2.4 GHz band and another four in the 5 GHz band. The rest of the features are exactly the same.
