Solution : Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth difficulty settings and which ones to choose explained

If you’re just starting Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for the first time, choosing the right difficulty level may prove to be a challenge as there are several to choose from.

Below I’ll give you the most important information you need to know to decide which one is best for you, whether you’re a seasoned FF&Remake veteran or just starting out as a novice.

FF7 Rebirth Difficulty Settings

Difficulty mode Details
Easy “Choose this option if you want to enjoy the story without worrying about battles.”
Normal “Standard difficulty level. Choose this option if you want to fully experience the battles and story.”
Dynamic “Enemy difficulty automatically adjusts based on skill level. Choose this option if you like the thrill of combat.”

All of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth difficulty settings you can choose from are listed in the table above, from Easy to Dynamic, along with details on what they add to the game.

Are there any difficulty trophies in FF7 Rebirth?

Yes, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has one difficulty wall trophy:From Hardy Stock“, requiring you to “complete all chapters on Hard difficulty.”

How to unlock hard mode

Hard Mode in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth becomes available after completing the game, but it is not available as a typical difficulty mode like the three listed above, but instead via Chapter selection menu.

Playing any chapter allows you to replay a selected part of the story with your progress, level, equipment and material transferred. Complete each chapter on Hard and the “Of Hardy Stock” trophy will be added to your FF7 Rebirth collection.

Which difficulty level should I choose?

The Normal difficulty would be best in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for a typical first playthrough – so you can enjoy the full balance of combat and story as intended. However, if you’re already confident in your skills from playing FF7 Remake or similar games, there’s nothing wrong with switching from Rebirth to Dynamic for a bit of a challenge.

If you want to switch to easy mode and prioritize delving into the story, choosing the appropriate difficulty level comes down to personal preference.

For more information about the game, check out all the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth trophies, voice cast, whether you want to play the INTERmission DLC first, and whether the game will be available on PC or PS4.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Yes, Gilgamesh is new to the game and the quest line will absorb you

Well, did you notice him in the last trailer? In the current “Final Trailer”. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Square Enix shows the silhouette of a monstrous creature on a roof. It’s dark, you can’t see much. But the creature obviously has multiple arms and many swords. It’s Gilgamesh, there can be little doubt about that at first glance for Final Fantasy fans.

Famitsu also noticed Gilgamesh and luckily the Japanese magazine had Tetsuya Nomura and Naoki Hamaguchi in front of them to ask directly. Gilgamesh will therefore appear as part of a side quest chain that will extend across the entire map of the game.

The quest series will be titled “Ancient Matters” and Gilgamesh will appear in the fourth mission of this series. Sounds like there are other creatures awaiting us in this quest line. Famitsu asked the creators how Gilgamesh found his way into this world. Accordingly, it was one of many suggestions from Hamaguchi himself. The quest series, which will run through numerous regions of the world, has already been determined.

However, Nomura – who was often read as taking a more conservative approach to many things – had suggested that the inclusion of Gilgamesh could clash with the setting of Rebirth. However, Nomura eventually made adjustments to the character for this questline to better align his appearance with the tone and setting of Rebirth.

Either way, the fight against Gilgamesh has to be epic, right?

Solution : Here are the best team combinations in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Finding the best team combinations in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is key to success, as I spent a lot of time throughout the game trying to find the perfect balance between different team members.

Each team member has their own specialization in the game, from Aerith’s magic-focused kit to Barret’s long-range abilities. That’s why you often have to change things up and try new combinations to find your ideal, but I have some fantastic suggestions that you can use right away.

What are the best party combinations?

Party Style/Focus
Cloud/Yuffie/Tifa Damage / Healing and Range / Damage
Cloud / Red XIII / Barret Damage/Healing/Distance
Cloud/Aerith/Barret Damage/Healing/Distance
Cloud/Tifa/Cait Sith Damage / Damage / Healing and luck
Cloud/Aerith/Tifa Damage / Healing / Damage

Cloud/Yuffie/Tifa

This was by far my favorite team combination while playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth because you get a lot of damage from all three members while also having Yuffie’s healing abilities.

You will of course need to include Yuffie in your party, so this combo won’t be possible from the start, but once she joins your party, you’ll be all set. I made sure I had Cure and Revival (the two best Materia) on Yuffie to increase her healing, and I also had Cure on Cloud for extra help.

I made sure to leave Tifa for damage-dealing duties only, as she has the potential to deal some serious pain and can easily stagger even the toughest enemies.

Cloud / Red XIII / Barret

While I’ve never really been a fan of the Vengeance Red XIII system, combining it with Cloud and Barret creates a wonderfully balanced party.

You can always hit some healing Materia, I definitely recommend it using the Watchers’ Respite ability which you can use around Chapter 10, as it allows you to convert your Revenge Meter into healing your entire team – and it’s incredibly powerful.

Barret is also a great addition to this team as it gives you ranged capabilities that will prove very helpful in countless fights. There are a lot of enemies in Rebirth that characters like Tifa and Red will have a hard time hitting, so having Barret deal constant damage and knock them down is very helpful.

Cloud/Aerith/Barret

Aerith isn’t just my favorite character, but she definitely is the best healer in the gameso having her at the party will always be a good thing.

She’s definitely not as strong and versatile in combat as the other five members of the team, but she more than makes up for it with her support capabilities.

Combine this with Barret’s ranged options and you’ll be able to handle almost all fronts, as Cloud himself deals more than enough damage to carry the team on his own.

Cloud/Tifa/Cait Sith

This is a wild card option that could backfire, but Cait Sith is just a lot of fun if luck is on your side. While not strictly a healer in the same way as Aerith, she uses him Dice Roll skill it can heal your entire party for 5 or prevent them from taking damage if you’re lucky enough to land it on 6.

Of course, you won’t always be that lucky, but it’s more than enough fun to add some spice to the second half of the game once you have Cait Sith on your team – so definitely give it a try.

You can largely swap out Tifa or Yuffie, Barret or Red as damage dealers, but Tifa’s strength definitely shines here and will more than make up for the times when Cait Sith doesn’t quite hold her own.

Cloud/Aerith/Tifa

The combination of Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa is almost too obvious not to include because it gives you that excellent physical damage, elemental abilities and healing – what more could you want?

This is a combo I used for most of the early game before Yuffie came into the team, and it proved effective in almost every situation. If you’re not sure who to choose for your party and just want to stick to the basics, then you really can’t go wrong with Aerith and Tifa. However, considering how long Rebirth lasts, I highly recommend trying everything out to see what works best for you.

Another thing to consider when choosing your team is each character’s unlocked synergy abilities and folio status, as well as their weapon proficiency.

All of this will have an impact on each character’s strength, and you’ll want to make sure you have synergy options between all three party members, as they are essential to taking down the toughest bosses in the game.

Square Enix hosts “Fireworks & Music” show for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake

Video games not only like to conquer your hearts, sometimes they also conquer the sky. Drone shows, like those organized by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company from time to time, are particularly popular in Japan.

Square Enix doesn’t let this go and also lights up the Japanese night sky. “Final Fantasy VII Remake / Rebirth – FIREWORKS & MUSIC” was specifically announced. The event is scheduled to take place on March 23, 2024 at the Expo Commemorative Park in Osaka, entry costs 8,800 yen – around 55 euros.

The event is expected to combine music, lighting, lasers and fireworks to create a “new type of entertainment.” Famous songs from the first two parts of the remake trilogy are performed.

There are tickets available for a “dynamic area” near the fireworks and a panoramic area a little further away. Children up to 6 years old can participate free of charge.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review – In the Clouds of Cloud

Square Enix surprised friend and foe with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The first title in a trilogy of remakes turned out not to simply retell the story of the 1997 game, but to supplement (and even continue) it. It was a bull’s eye, but will the sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, also surprise as much? Find out in our Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake managed to delight old fans again in 2020 with a retelling of the game that once appeared on the original PlayStation, while creating many new fans. One thing was certain: everyone was presented with a big cliffhanger. Four years later, it’s finally time for the sequel that continues the story of Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII.

Feast for the eye

This time that happens on the PlayStation 5. While Remake was developed exclusively for the PS4, the next part was developed specifically for Sony’s latest hardware and that is noticeable. The game looks stunning in 4K 30 fps, but plays even better at a tight 60 fps in Performance Mode.

It is clear that the PS5 has allowed Square Enix to make the game a lot more graphically impressive. Many of the vast locations in the open-world look stunning, while we encountered few or no bugs in our 50-hour adventure.

Combine it with lightning-fast loading times and it quickly becomes clear that the game runs like a charm. That’s a good thing, because Final Fantasy 7 Remake sometimes had some strange problems (such as the low texture door that quickly became a meme).

On the hunt for Sephiroth

Our heroes leave Midgar behind as they search for the big villain of the story: Sephiroth. It soon becomes clear why he must be stopped, after which the search begins. You are soon thrown into the open world, but the story sometimes gets a bit stuck here.

Here and there, just like in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the story deviates from the 1997 original. The changes are often pleasant, but that will ultimately depend on how much you stick to the story that was originally presented on the PS1 .

Fortunately, the core of that 1997 story is still present in Rebirth, including quite a few memorable moments that are sometimes completely crazy. Final Fantasy 7 Remake featured a much-discussed moment where Cloud was put in a dress. Without giving anything away, we can say that the second part also offers crazy antics.

Yet Rebirth especially shines when more depth is given to the cast surrounding Cloud. Barret and Aerith play a major role in this, as do newcomers Yuffie (who you could already play as in Intermission) and Cait Sith (who was briefly seen in Final Fantasy 7 Remake).

Get lost full of joy

New to the game is that there are large open areas to explore, which are seamlessly stitched together. This makes it an open world, but you can’t always go everywhere. Sometimes that’s not possible because of the story, but when that lock is off the door all those areas are full of things to do.

Each of the areas has large towers to discover, after which you unlock new interesting locations on the map with small activities to do. Think of defeating specific enemies, where you are encouraged to do this in a certain way.

By completing some of these monster challenges you’ll unlock challenges in Chadley’s fighting simulator (which is back in Rebirth). Beating those challenges in the simulator will yield useful rewards, such as new Materia that Cloud and the rest of his friends can use in future battles.

There are also various animals that lead you to interesting locations, like Ghost of Tsushima did with foxes that took you to hot springs. In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, young Chocobos and owls act as guides during the moments when you are on a journey of discovery.

Together you are strong

All these interesting locations also provide XP points for your Party Level, a new mechanic in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This means you gradually unlock more skills and abilities in the skill tree, called Folios. This allows you to, among other things, unlock new attacks for each character.

Considering Rebirth continues the tactical edge that was on the combat in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, that is a great pleasure. This means you no longer have to rely solely on Materia for magical attacks that cause extra damage, because via the skill tree you can choose new attacks that have a magical edge.

You can also unlock new Synergy skills through the Folio system. These are new in Rebirth and provide new ways to unleash powerful attacks on bosses. During a battle, a meter builds up for each character and when it passes a certain point, two characters can perform a special Synergy attack together.

Fighting with all three characters within your party provides many more options. It’s a good evolution to let you switch more between Cloud and the rest of the crew. Sometimes it’s just more convenient to fight Barret or Aerith who do good damage from a distance, while Tifa, like Cloud, is good for close-quarters fistfights.

On foot or by bird?

You do enough fighting during the adventure that it can easily keep you busy for 40 hours. Especially if, like the undersigned, you want to explore every region. Then there is a greater chance that you will double the number of hours, although fortunately you do not have to cover everything on foot.

Chocobos are soon introduced as a method of transportation, including a mini-game where you can dig up treasure as an inspector gadget. While they are walking, you can also easily pick up materials lying around the world. You can use this for the game’s new crafting system, so you never have too little or.

Mini games galore

Other types of side activities come in the form of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s array of mini-games. Racing with Chocobos, Fort Condor and Queen’s Blood are the most notable three, but one beloved location from the original game serves up plenty of others.

Yet it is Queen’s Blood that will conquer hearts after just a few hours. The card game is introduced in a similar way to how Gwent was woven into The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt in 2015. Numerous characters you’ll encounter in each town are looking for new Queen’s Blood challengers.

By defeating them one by one, you collect new cards, which can also be purchased at stores. In the meantime, you make a name for yourself as a good Queen’s Blood player and unlock new challengers who want to play a game of tactical cards against you. The undersigned lost quite a few hours left and right playing this fun game.

The Chocobo racing is also a wonderful distraction between all the developments of the story, while Fort Condor has been further expanded. That mini-game was introduced during the Episode Intermission expansion of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This is only the tip of the veil, because that is far from all the mini-games (which can also be found here and there outside that beloved location of the PS1 game).

Choices full of character

Just like in the previous part, it is possible to make choices in the story. What’s different is that this time you influence the relationship you have with different characters in your party. Tifa, Aerith, Barret and Red XIII; everyone has a little emoticon above their head that changes based on the conversations you have with them.

At least that is the idea, but in practice this does not always work well. Although the game indicates that the bond you have with your team members is changing, you initially cannot keep up with this. While your relationship with the characters changes based on side missions you do with them and through mutual conversations between you and someone from your team.

Several times we tried every voice option that Cloud could choose from, but the story turned out the same. So there is sometimes an illusion of freedom, but fortunately that does not take away from the conversations you have.

The conversations between Cloud and Tifa about their shared history are always interesting and you feel the bond between Barret and Cloud growing stronger. The same goes for any conversation with Aerith, whose relationship with Cloud is especially interesting if you’ve played the 1997 original.

The fact that you have free choice in who is under the control is a great pleasure and gives more than ever the feeling that you are not simply going through Cloud’s story. This is just as much the story of Tifa, Aerith, Barret (and to a lesser extent Yuffie and Cait Sith).

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review – Bigger than ever

Although the story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a bit slow to get going, it cannot be denied that it is more than worth playing. With a more in-depth combat system that improves the interaction between Cloud and the rest in many areas, defeating the many bosses (and enemies via optional missions) feels even better than in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

You will encounter more than enough of those bosses during the crazy story that takes some time to get going. Fortunately, the PS5 game manages to do that well and when the pace picks up, the story is both impressive and dizzying.

There is also plenty of room for extras, because the open world is full of valuable side missions and extras to look for. The fact that it further provides the bonds between Cloud and his friends is an extra icing on the cake, although we would have liked to be able to track the progression of these relationships more conveniently.

  • Order Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth here now!

8.8

The plus and minus points

  • Impressive (and dizzying) story
  • Improved combat system
  • Open world full of valuable extras
  • Tons of mini games
  • Runs like a charm
  • The story sometimes falls a bit short
  • Keeping track of relationships is sometimes confusing

Aerith or Tifa? Toxic fans threaten to ruin Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, says Cloud spokesperson

Cloud and Tifa? Cloud and Aerith? Or Aerith and Tifa? Voice actor Cody Christian, who plays Cloud in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth plays, is not very enthusiastic about “shipping”. He believes that “shippers” who “overtly ___ualize any relationship can ruin the development of a great story.”

Christian commented via Twitter, following the latest Rebirth trailer shared by Square Enix. Longtime fans of the original (as well as the remake) have many opinions about who should be Cloud’s love interest in the love triangle between Tifa and Aerith, which has sparked many heated debates online.

Toxic fans threaten to ruin history

“’Shippers’ fails at the idea that one character can have meaningful relationships with MULTIPLE characters. That ensures comprehensive depth,” says Christian. “The need to overtly ___ualize any relationship can ruin the development of a great story.”

While the relationships between Cloud, Tifa and Aerith could be interpreted as platonic, the subtext of “who will he choose?” certainly appealed to many players – although the discourse around choices often veers into toxicity. However, Christian developed a thick skin after gaining fame on Teen Wolf, which prepared him for Final Fantasy VII Remake.

“The majority of people wanted me fired and replaced without ever hearing me speak,” he says. “To do what we did and make it successful and mean so much to the core audience, I’m not afraid of Rebirth.”

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to release exclusively for PS5 on February 29th. Want to stay up to date on all things Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? Here you can find all articles from our detailed reporting.

Polygon replenishment with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Cid, Yuffie and Co. will also appear soon

You may remember the low-poly characters from Final Fantasy VII Remake. If not, Square Enix released a set of polygon figures in 2020 that are literally just that.

They’re based on the polygon models from the original Final Fantasy VII. That’s charming, some might say. That’s really ugly, many others. Either way: These things are sold out.

Additional supplies are available in the form of additional figures. At the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix exhibited Cait Sith, Cid, Yuffie, Rufus, Tseng and Rude, as well as a Shinra guardsman and the save point. The save point was placed next to Yuffie. Fans of the original might smile.

Square Enix also presented a pack of the first figures released in 2020. Some people are probably hoping for a resupply of the figures that are out of stock today. But nothing has been announced yet.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: “Super weird” Red XIII on a Chocobo – it was Nomura’s idea

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth you will probably ride chocobos a few times. And if Red XIII is on the team, then Red XIII also rides a chocobo. We’ve known this since the current trailer and it’s also possible in the TGS demo. Some fans find this funny, but some also find it quite strange.

“Super weird,” comments Gregor “Chaz Ashley” Kartsios, for example, in his video for the demo. And a “bit ridiculous” even. When he saw this for the first time, he fell away from the faith. In fact, Red XIII looks a little, shall we say, awkward on the Chocobo. Why doesn’t Red XIII just follow? The muscle pack would certainly be able to do that too.

IGN also finds it at least strange and asked whether it wasn’t a little uncomfortable for Red XIII and whether he wouldn’t have to worry about back pain. “Yes. Thank you for this great question,” replies director Naoki Hamaguchi. Red XIII and the way he rides a chocobo was also a “hotly debated topic” among the developers.

“So we discussed it a lot and agreed on Mr. Nomura’s idea of how he should ride the chocobo,” Hamaguchi said. So it was Tetsuya Nomura’s idea. Ultimately, it is also the opinion that this represents the “comical elements” of the series, which are also representative of the FF7 games, even against the background of the serious plot.

IGN immediately follows Cloud on the Segway. “Yes. The fact that Cloud rides a Segway in the trailer also caused a stir in Japan,” says Hamaguchi. Fans will travel to many places, such as Costa del Sol, the resort town.

They were thinking about a “more exciting way” the group could get around there. “So when we were thinking about a hand-controlled wheeled transportation device, some kind of Segway-like device came to mind, and we’re really happy that this is being noticed not only in Japan but also worldwide,” says Hamaguchi.
