Twitch streamer traumatized after stalker drove 1,000 km to burn her car


A streamer was the victim of a stalker who drove more than 1,000 kilometers to set her car on fire while she was on vacation. The flames from the vehicles nearly set fire to the house where his mother and her animals also live.

It was streamer Kylee Carter alias justfoxii who was the victim of one of her followers. The young woman is traumatized after this alleged stalker drove more than 1,000 kilometers to set her car on fire, creating a fire that nearly destroyed her house where her mother and animals also live.

She says in a YouTube video that she was on vacation away from home when the fire broke out. “I was sleeping, it was around two in the morning and my mother called me to wake me up“, she explains in the video, “she was crying and i knew something bad had happened“. His mother then said to him:Someone set your car on fire. The police are here.”

Android Auto 11.4 now arrives on your mobile: all the news and how to update

If Starfield is not intended to be a massively multiplayer game, it shares with Chris Roberts’ game the fact of being a particularly ambitious space game. And if the rivalry between the two titles was so far not well marked, the recent presentation of gameplay of the game from Bethesda has rekindled the flame of discord.

Now head to the Immaculate Cathedral, also found in Luculla Forest, at map coordinates X:208 Y:452. There you must defeat Mangoth to find the vial of blood.

To reach Mangoth, you must solve a puzzle to enter the temple. Light all four candles in the locked room to open the gates/doors.

How to Craft Death Knights’ Bane:

The first PCI Express 7.0 specifications validated: up to 512 GB/s in 2027


Your graphics card does not yet fully exploit PCI Express 4.0? Never mind, the standard is changing with great strides.

Better known by the acronym PCI-SIG, the PCI Special Interest Group brings together the main players in the computer world within an organization responsible for defining changes to the PCI Express standard. And it works hard!

Doubling of flows every 3 years

This is how, during the last year, the precise specifications of PCI Express 6.0 were validated. The compliance program for this future standard should thus be able to start in the middle of next year.

No, it’s not a mistake, we are talking about PCIe 6.0, and this, while the title of our news mentions PCIe 7.0. The reason is very simple, the PCI-SIG works on several versions of the standard at the same time. Thus, while PCIe 6.0 was in draft form, the organization was finalizing the characteristics of PCIe 5.0 which is only beginning to arrive in our PCs.

It is therefore not surprising to see the PCIe 7.0 project progress, since PCIe 6.0 was validated last year. To be exact, this is version 0.3 of what is called draft specs, the draft specifications for PCIe 7.0.

Up to 512 GB/s in 2027

The Bank of Norway lost 86 million euros due to an Excel error. A worker went to the wrong box


There are mistakes that are expensive. Last year, Norwegian sovereign wealth fund lost 980 million crowns, about 86 million euros, due to a simple calculation error caused by a incorrectly placed box in its gigantic spreadsheet. A human error that has caused million-dollar losses and once again shows how the lack of controls and review has an enormous impact.

Through the Financial Times we discovered the details of this story. Norges Bank explained that in February they found a “calculation error in the composition of the index.” Once the problem was discovered, they reversed it, but due to the enormous size of these national funds the impact was “0.7 points”, which forced them to reduce the profits obtained from about 118 billion Norwegian crowns to about 117 billion crowns. Specifically a difference of 980 million crowns.

Spreadsheets are too important

If this tiny error had occurred in other accounts, the difference would not have been as significant. But with national funds where an exceptional amount of resources moves, any deviation has great relevance in absolute terms.

What happened to this miscalculation? A simple human mistake. A wrong click.

As described in an internal report, the origin is an employee referred to simply as “Simon.” The description is priceless:

“My worst nightmare. It was a manual error. My mistake. I used the wrong date, December 1st instead of November 1st, as it was clearly marked.”

The error was not discovered until a few months later, since the year-end numbers did not match. The problem was quickly identified and corrected, but the damage had already been done.

The report describes how Patrick du Plessis, head of risk monitoring at the Norwegian national fund (NBIM), felt “physically ill” when he was told what had happened.

The history of this excel error has been a lesson for the managers of the Norwegian fund. Nicolai Tangen, its CEO, explained in a conference in January 2024, how a “decimal error cost about 900 million.”

And the impact this has. As the manager himself describes: “Imagine that you come home from work one day and discover that a mistake has cost 40 hospital beds, 80 football fields and a tunnel on the west coast.”

Anyone makes a mistake

The most surprising thing is perhaps the reaction. “Simon” was not fired. As explained by the NBIM, this error made them more aware and if it could be solved quickly it is because “no one tried to cover it up and no heads were cut off.”

Android Auto 11.3 is now available to everyone on Google Play with a great new feature


Punctual as a clock, Google has just released stable Android Auto 11.3, exactly one week after Android Auto 11.3 beta and exactly two weeks after the latest Android Auto 11.2. As usual, We have tested Android Auto 11.3 in search of new features and surprisingly on this occasion we have found a fairly clear one: message summaries with AI appeared, something that we already knew was on the way and Samsung announced as part of the Galaxy AI package, but which also reaches those who have other brands of phone.

Android Auto is updated literally every week and it is not always possible to find that something has changed. On this occasion, it was not necessary to dive too far to see differences, since in the Android Auto settings an option already appeared that was not there before: Play AI-generated message summaries.

As its name indicates, this new feature implies that the Assistant is responsible for making a summary of pending messages in a conversation, instead of reading them all one by one. It is a very good idea because if you have many pending messages, having the Assistant read them all one by one, in addition to being able to distract you, it will probably be difficult for you to follow the thread.

As is often the case with these types of AI functions, in our tests the Assistant there has been a bit of a mess with the languages and it told us a text in Spanish with English pronunciation explaining that it would proceed to give us a summary of a string of messages after we tapped on the notification.

To test it, I sent a tirade of messages telling a story and the Wizard’s summary was pretty good, but in english. Unfortunately, this is going to be the trend to follow in AI functions and we can only cross our fingers that it works just as well in Spanish and without making a mess with the languages.

Transparent solar panels are not a distant dream. A school in Japan is using them as windows


What if instead of limiting solar panels to rooftops, we made them transparent to use as windows? The idea of ​​generating energy with the glass of our buildings and vehicles is nothing new, but it is increasingly viable thanks to research into new materials.

The Japanese company inQs pursues this idea with the quartz photovoltaic solar glass: SQPV, for its acronym in English. It is not the first company to develop a crystal capable of producing electricity and letting light pass through at the same time, but instead of staying in the prototyping phase, it is already testing it in the real world.

The future of sustainable buildings

Producing electricity and letting light pass through to illuminate our buildings requires a simpler technology than it may seem. Instead of opaque (black or blue) silicon cells, solar glass uses transparent silicon quartz capable of harvesting solar energy through catalysts and electrodes. The key is that it does not capture all the visible light: it lets 75% pass through to illuminate the room and compensates for the loss of efficiency by capturing ultraviolet and infrared light.

Unveiled at CES 2024, inQs’ SQPV has been described as the “world’s most advanced and efficient transparent solar glass.” It is manufactured by sandwiching nanomaterials of various types between two 2 mm sheets of conductive glass. It can capture energy on both sides of the glass and, thanks to the use of infrared light, it also works on cloudy days and even indoors.

In addition, it reduces the increase in interior temperature by up to 44%, a thermal insulation effect that helps save energy while generating it.

Paradoxically, the first use that has been given to the SQPV in the real world is a greenhouse. Kaijō High School in Tokyo installed a greenhouse with the windows made of transparent solar panels from inQs. The purpose of this collaboration is to inspire students with technology, especially technology that helps reduce our carbon footprint.

“The inside of the product itself, everything inside it, is made from very, very easy to find materials,” inQs international director Rike Wootten told CNET. “There are no metals or rare earths, and the panel itself can be easily and safely recycled in contrast to conventional solar panels, which can be difficult to recycle due to the materials they use.”

What we do not know, because inQs has not revealed it despite winning an innovation award at CES 2024, is the electrical power and energy efficiency of its product, basic data to compare its performance with conventional solar panels.
