World of Tanks: The tanks are now rolling on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S

  • World of Tanks is now also playable on the next-gen consoles
  • This brings optimized graphics and faster loading times into play
  • Comparative screenshots show improved textures on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S

As Wargaming confirms, the free online action game World of Tanks Console is now also available for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X / S thanks to backward compatibility. The version for the two new platforms is now available for free download.

The game does not have any major new features on the next-gen devices, but it runs at least faster and nicer, in better resolution, with higher frame rates and faster loading times. The action game now also manages 4K with 60fps and how the MMO looks optically on the new consoles, compared to before, you can see here in two screenshots:

At the next-gen, this first impression shows at least more detailed textures, especially with regard to the plants in the area, and more realistic contrasts of light and shadow, especially on the metal of the vehicle. If you change the game platform in World of Tanks, your own achievements and purchases will also move.

World of Tanks is team-based online multiplayer action with a focus on tank combat – as the name might suggest. You can compete against each other 15 against 15 in the huge, rolling machines. In addition to the next-gen, you can also play World of Tanks Console on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One and Xbox One X.

A somewhat unusual season is currently running in World of Tanks, which includes a somewhat weird crossover with Hot Wheels. Also in the “normal” World of Tanks, the PC version, the 3rd season is currently running again and that until December 8th, 2020 – with a corresponding Battle Pass.

Frank Lammers and Elise Schaap, who play Ferry and Danielle, will of course return in the spin-off. Whether we will also see other familiar faces is not yet known. In any case, Lammers is looking forward to it:

Will Undercover get a season 4?

The series is still in its early stages, so it will be some time before the series is available on Netflix. It is not yet clear whether we can enjoy a fourth season in the meantime. Netflix has not yet released an official statement, but Frank Lammers and Tom Waes certainly like it. Lammers indicated that he wants to keep playing Ferry as long as the scripts are good.

Xbox Series X Dashboard: This bug in Microsoft Edge is extremely annoying

Image: Microsoft

There is a bug in the Microsoft Edge browser on the Xbox console that is extremely annoying – SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED.

Maybe you’ve already had one Microsoft Edge browser used to watch a longer video on the Xbox console in the browser. If so, you too will definitely have the “SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED“-errors have seen.

The video simply stops and the error is displayed. You can then refresh the page to continue the video, but you have to log in again and after what feels like 10 minutes it happens again and again.

The error has been known for months and complaints are piling up everywhere. There has been discussion about what could be the problem for over seven months, especially on Reddit. Some of Microsoft’s suggested solutions also don’t work.

A report from May 2022 describes the annoying Microsoft Edge bug, which we also get hit with almost every day, very well:

“That’s exactly what happens to me too. Edge app on Xbox exceeds memory when playing a video above 720p on most websites. Getting the error (SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED).”

“I have to refresh the page to continue the video and that happens every 10 minutes. For some reason it doesn’t seem to happen when I watch YouTube, but it happened on every other video streaming website I tried. I can only assume that something went wrong with the last Edge update. I’ve tried every troubleshooting technique, even resetting the console to factory settings. This must be a problem with Edge. Until the problem is fixed, you can apparently still watch in 720p without any problems. I suggest reporting the issue to Edge. Click on the 3 dots in the top right, go down to Help & Feedback and then Send Feedback. If they get a few reports, they should look into the problem.”

Rumor: Codemasters is putting the DiRT series on hold for the time being and focusing on WRC games

In 2020 it was announced that Codemasters had obtained the official WRC license for the period from 2023 to 2027. This means that from next year the developer will be the only studio to make officially licensed WRC games. When that agreement was announced, Codemasters indicated that it would not be at the expense of the well-known DiRT franchise. The studio said it remained committed to DiRT and even reported that the team behind the DiRT Rally games was already working on a new part at the time. Now this seems to be turning out differently.

Insider Tom Henderson reports namely that Codemasters is now fully focused on its first WRC game when it comes to rally games. DiRT Rally 3 was indeed in development, but according to Henderson was scrapped at the end of last year. In fact, it seems that the entire DiRT series has been put on hold for the time being. Codemasters will focus on nothing but F1, GRID and WRC for the foreseeable future, Henderson said.

Henderson relies on his sources, but there are already concrete indications that point in the same direction. EA, which acquired Codemasters early last year, has it official Twitter account of the DiRT games have changed their name. The account is now simply called “EA SPORTS Rally,” which also seems to suggest that the focus is no longer on DiRT.

In short: enough indications that we will hear little or nothing from the DiRT games in the coming years and that Codemasters will fully focus on WRC, now that the license is in the hands of Codemasters. Of course, Henderson’s report has not been confirmed, so consider it a rumor for now. It’s not yet known when Codemasters’ new WRC game will be officially announced, but it’s likely to be released next year, when the license will officially go to Codemasters.

Red Dead Redemption 2 in 4K and 60FPS on Xbox Series X?

Xbox Series X is PS5 are fast approaching and many specialized portals have received next-gen consoles by Microsoft is Sony. Among these is the British editorial staff of Digital Foundry.

John Linneman confirmed in a tweet that DF is now in possession of an Xbox Series X. Fans wasted no time and started asking about the console. Among these users, someone asked on Twitter if we will ever see on Series X Red Dead Redemption 2 by Rockstar.

Following this first question, more tweets have arrived from other users who, however, have questioned the performance of the game on Series X. For example, a fan claims that RDR2 on Series X will have the same performance as the Xbox One X version. .

In response to another tweet questioning Series X’s capabilities, John Linneman’s comment came: “you may want to save this tweet for later. I mean to say“.

You might want to bookmark this tweet for later. Just sayin?

‘Red Dead Redemption 2 will get an upgrade for PS5, Series X’

With the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, many previous generation games were upgraded to take advantage of the capabilities of the new consoles. That was mostly about recent games. Now it seems that the somewhat older Red Dead Redemption 2 will also get a version for PS5 and Series X.

According to the nice AccountNgt, Rockstar is working on an upgrade from Red Dead Redemption 2. Other than that, he had no information about it. When asked when this upgrade would be released, he also had no answer.

  • Get your hands on Red Dead Redemption 2!

Still, AccountNgt has been right more often lately. For example, the account leaked the postponement of the PS5 game Forspoken. It also announced before the official announcement that Sony was going to buy Bungie.

It is striking that there is currently nothing more to read on the AccountNgt Twitter page. You could consider that as withdrawing his claims. But there may also be another reason for the disappearance of the tweets.

Rockstar also came with GTA V upgrade

An upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 wouldn’t be too unexpected either. Rockstar, for example, released a PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade to Grand Theft Auto 5 earlier this year, after it had also been upgraded for the previous generation. It should be clear that the developer is not averse to a remaster or upgrade for a successful game.

If you like Baldur’s Gate 3, here are 21 movies and series full of fantasy, magic, and swords

Obsessed with Baldur’s Gate 3? We also. And it’s normal. Venturing into his world is a joy. Let yourself be carried away by their great stories or see the hilarious consequences derived from a bad shot even more. However, did you know that there are movies inspired by that same fantasy universe? One of the best, in fact, was released just a few months before Larian’s video game.

the saga Baldur’s Gate It is set in Dungeons & Dragons. More specifically, our journey takes place in the Forgotten Realms, a context shared by the bard Edgin Darvis, the barbarian Holga Kilgore and the rest of the characters in the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves from Paramount Pictures, the most recent foray being of the franchise on the big screen.

Logically, the current campaign the Forgotten Realms of D&D it also draws from countless previous fantasy universes and others created after the fact. From Tolkien’s signature in The Lord of the Rings to other much more modern productions created directly for small screens. And, of course, a colossal legacy of sword and magic video games.

Adapting the universe of The Forgotten Realms and the essence of Dungeons & Dragons to the new times and the concerns of those passionate about fantasy, but preserving the essentials to awaken the fascination and adventurous spirit of new generations through any medium or format.

As you already know, in LifeExtra We are true lovers of fantasy. The one we live through video games, of course, but even beyond. Precisely for this reason, we have prepared a very special selection of films and series that, we hope, you will love if you are enjoying both Baldur’s Gate 3 like us.

From animated productions to large film productions or timeless classics. Content that addresses the stories of magic and swords from different points of view, sometimes not so serious and others less orthodox. Promoting variety so that there is always something interesting for everyone. And, hopefully, inspiring you for when you resume your game.

Our starting point, the work that our SamaGame colleagues crowned as the best adventure film of recent years.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Paramount Pictures shot a sensational, hilarious, and action-packed game of Dungeons & Dragons in which nods to the Forgotten Realms, the essence of the franchise, and the spirit of high-fantasy quests fill the screen. A movie that, without being strictly perfect, is absolutely essential for Baldur’s Gate 3 players.

  • Streaming: Movistar+

Dungeons & Dragons (Dungeons and Dragons)

The first major live-action production of Dungeons & Dragons for the big screen was released in 2000 and was quickly eclipsed by the success of other great magic and fantasy sagas. Which does not take away its own merits, its successes -which it has- and the fact of starting its own film trilogy whose brooch will be launched directly in domestic format.

Dragons and Dungeons, the animated series

Forty years before the premiere of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Baldur’s Gate 3which is said quickly, the first animated series based on Dungeons & Dragons, offering three seasons of adventures starring young adventurers trying to return to the real world with the help of the Dungeon Master plus one missing episode. Watch out for the theme of the Spanish version performed by Dulces.

The film saga of The Lord of the Rings

It is absolutely impossible to allude to the great adventure, fantasy, magic and sword films without recommending Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. An impeccable adaptation of the literary saga that revolutionized the film industry and, in the process, masterfully captured the essence of a work that until then was considered impossible to film.

  • Streaming: HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video

The Hobbit Trilogy

A decade after the cinematic phenomenon of the Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson himself and his team tackled the challenge of taking the YA novel The Hobbit by transforming it into a three-film saga. And despite its great excesses, which are very visible, it is still a spectacular experience of adventure, magic and swords with a huge dragon capable of amortizing that expensive sound bar that you bought for your television.

  • Streaming: Amazon Prime Video

The Flight of Dragons

Decades before Warner’s adapted Tolkien’s works, the company released the flight of dragonsan animated film based -with enormous liberties- on the novel of the same name that Peter Dickinson wrote in 1979. And despite the fact that so much animation carries many elements of its time, its way of presenting the coexistence between science and magic in a Medieval fantasy world remains timeless.

Conan the barbarian

One of the best fantasy films ever made. As it is. The adaptation of Robert E. Howard’s work starring Arnold Schwarzenegger himself (with none other than James Earl Jones replicating him) conveys the epic of swordplay and great adventures from its opening bars. Of course, its sequel, Conan the Destroyer, brims with much more fantasy, magic and elements of D&D, although as a film it lags far behind. Much further back.

  • Streaming: Disney Plus

The Princess Bride (The Princess Bride)

“” The engaged princess (The Princess Bride) is a well-deserved cult work and a true fantasy, adventure film classic with touches of comedy and fairy tales based, of course, on the 1973 book of the same name. With colorful characters, iconic and inevitable elements sword duels capable of capturing the imagination of a young reader and, by extension, of entire generations of spectators.

  • Streaming: Amazon Prime Video

Warcraft: The Origin

From the video game to the big screen with no expense spared. Blizzard and Universal put all the meat on the grill to bring the eternal conflict between the Alliance and the Horde to movie theaters, offering an authentic visual spectacle that divided specialized critics and those passionate about video games.

And despite the fact that, in this case, it is Blizzard who borrows elements from D&D to cement its background, the gratuitousness with which spells are performed or the decorations will draw smiles among Baldur’s Gate players.

  • Streaming: Amazon Prime Video, Netflix Skyshowtime

(dis)charm

Our first not-so-jarring note is very carefully chosen: (dis)charm It is the third major animation project from the creators of The Simpsons and Futurama and, at the same time, a tribute, parody and own approach to the fantasy and adventure genre; with that point of criticism and acid humor so characteristic of Matt Groening’s characters. A madness, yes, with events worthy of one of those very bad thrown in Baldur’s Gate that lead to fascinating dramas.

Streaming: Netflix

The Witcher Saga on Netflix

More than high fantasy, the universe imagined by Andrzej Sapkowski in his literary saga matches much more with dark fantasy. But, at the same time, he provides a cruder and darker portrait of the typical adventure feats in which elements of Nordic and medieval myths play a leading role. Especially when it comes to fighting against dark creatures and beasts.

With regard to this selection, we have not only wanted to keep in mind the already available seasons of The Witcher, the series, but also productions closely linked to them such as the Nightmare of the Wolf. And while The Witcher: Origin of Blood movie is in many ways a nonsense, in its own way -and with its flaws- it fits much better within the standards of D&D games than it does in Geralt’s world of Rivia.

  • Streaming: Netflix

the wheel of time

Once again, television drinks from paper by taking Robert Jordan’s High Fantasy novels (James Oliver Rigney to our close friends) to serial format. However, we cannot forget that more than 20 years ago Wizards of the Coast itself, owner of Dungeons & Dragons and by extension Baldur’s Gate, developed a role-playing game based on the rules of the third edition of D&D. They are independent franchises, for the record, but with enough points in common so that The Wheel of Time deserves a viewing if we like to get lost on the Sword Coast.

  • Streaming: Amazon Prime Video

Knights, princesses and other beasts

Recommend Knights, princesses and other beasts (Your Highness) due to its plot, its contribution to the seventh art or its themes is really complicated: David Gordon Green’s film is a true prank that not even the most warlike and charming Natalie Portman can save. And yet, the way to sweep home each and every one of the clichés inherited from the enormous legacy of Dungeons & Dragons achieves that, at least, it deserves a mention. Even if it is to add a note of color to our selection.

  • Streaming: SkyShowtime

In the name of the king (In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale)

The legacy of uwe boll and its dangerous flirtations with video game adaptations is almost a subgenre in itself from which what is just and necessary can be rescued. In the King’s name, with its flaws, manages to make the cut: Jason Statham, Burt Reynolds, Ray Liotta, Claire Forlani and even John Rhys-Davies lend themselves to adapting the Dungeon Siege role-playing saga, achieving high suspense for Boll, but also his best fantasy film , magic and swords. Another thing is where the bar is, of course.

  • Streaming: Rakuten TV

The Dragon of the Lake of Fire (DragonSlayer)

As much as we are passionate about video games, we could not close our review of fantasy, magic and sword films with a contribution from Uwe Boll. The general idea is to offer a wide variety of approaches to the themes of Baldur’s Gate 3, And the movie fits that very well. But it wouldn’t be pretty. That is why we have reserved DragonSlayer for the end.

Released in Spain under the name of The Dragon of the Lake of Fire, it is a Dark Fantasy story produced by Paramount and Disney itself that, despite its marked clichés, combines feelings of heroism, tests of courage and the determination to finish with a powerful enemy to offer the viewer the essence of great adventures.

Nvidia RTX 3070 will be a threat to Xbox Series X but not PS5, Digital Foundry explains why

The new GPUs of Nvidia, the series RTX 3000, promises to catapult PC gamers into the world of the next generation and beyond, with tech specs to make any console pale.

Precisely by virtue of their potential, second Richard Leadbetter of Digital foundry, the new graphics cards from Nvidia, in particular the RTX 3070, will pose a real threat to Xbox Series X… and only for her, why PlayStation 5 it should be safe.

The explanation behind this reasoning? Quite simply, the RTX 3070 will cost 519 euros / 499 dollars and will offer, at or near the same price as a next-gen console, much better performance and performance. This will make it a great choice for those who want to jump into next-gen gaming PCs, without spending the extra money on higher-class RTX GPUs.

While the Xbox Series X exclusives, by the express will of Microsoft, will also be released on PC, buying a console would mean playing something of lower quality than what you can get at the same price with an RTX 3070. That would, according to Digital Foundry, be the risk that newer Nvidia GPUs pose for the next one – gen from Microsoft.

Why should the PlayStation 5 be immune to all of this? Basically because, although it also has lower performance than a 3070, the first exclusive parts will remain exclusive for consoles and will not land on PC. In short, having a gaming PC and an Xbox Series X would become superfluous and redundant, while a PC and a PS5 would ensure a full range of video games available.

Obviously, we have to add the necessary premises to the Digital Foundry discourse: of course, Nvidia’s new GPUs would provide better performance than next-gen consoles, but a gaming PC is not just made up of a GPU and many other components are needed to create it; the assembly costs of such a PC would certainly exceed those of a console which, on the other hand, guarantees instant access to next-gen games, with no additional components to purchase. A different story if you already have a powerful PC and just need to switch graphics cards, but it was worth pointing out.

Additionally, although Sony is a fan of console exclusives, it has recently observed the PC market with great interest and excluding Death Stranding, exclusive PS4 console, but developed by a third-party studio, Horizon Zero Dawn has shown that the arrival on PC of its first parties can now not be ruled out.

Of course, even if the PS5 titles end up on the PC, they will first have to spend a long time in “isolation” on the Sony console.

In short, despite a few snippets, Digital Foundry’s reasoning makes sense. What do you think about it? If you have a powerful PC, would you still buy an Xbox Series X? Or do you share DF’s thought?

PS5 and Xbox Series X: the list of all games with 120fps support – guide

Microsoft recently confirmed that Halo Infinite, the flagship game of the Xbox Series X, will support 120fps gameplay in multiplayer mode. This led us to question what other games have 120Hz support confirmed on compatible 4K TVs and screens.

So we did some research and this article is the result: an exhaustive and detailed list of all the games for PS5 and Xbox Series X that go beyond the historic 60fps refresh limit of the consoles. In addition to the list of titles with such support, we have also included the connection technology of 4K 120Hz TVs (HDMI 2.1) and also the best 4K TVs for next-gen gaming.

While many users will be playing next-gen consoles on TV, we’ve also covered the other option, which is high-refresh PC monitors. These have in fact been available on the market for several years, so we have compiled a list of recommended models that support at least 120Hz or more at different resolutions. We have in fact included monitors with native resolution 1080p and 1440p, and also the very first models equipped with an HDMI 2.1 interface, necessary for 4K at 120Hz.

In addition to the games and screen recommendations, we’ve also included a short guide to gaming at a120fps. Scroll the page or go directly to the section that interests you most using the navigation guide below:

Before we begin, let’s ask ourselves a simple question:

Why is 120fps better than 60fps?

Answer: The higher the frame-rate, the lower your input lag and the higher the temporal resolution.

These two side effects make the gameplay of frenetic games such as shooter or racing easier, being able to react more readily to the appearance of an enemy or to perceive in advance the approach of a sharp bend. You can see all of this demonstrated in our “Over 60fps” video.

High-refresh monitors had a big impact on PC gaming when they were introduced years ago, and we expect a similar effect on consoles now that 120fps is on the plate.

Obviously there is a trade-off between high frame-rates and graphics fidelity. For games where fast-paced sections are rare, or where developers want to emphasize the visuals of their worlds through higher resolution or enhanced effects, sticking to a more traditional 30fps or 60fps may make more sense.

Which PS5 and Xbox Series X games support 120fps?

At the moment, we know that there are eight games on PS5 or Series X that support 120fps, and the spread is nowhere near even.

While the PS5 has an innovative design in many ways, we’ve heard very little about which games will support 120fps. The PS5 slate currently only contains a handful of titles, but it is sure to grow over time.

The full list of 120fps PS5 titles

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • Dirt 5
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
  • Rainbow Six Siege

Now let’s take a look at the other side of the coin with the Xbox Series X. Given that Microsoft balances the situation with PC gaming on Windows, perhaps it’s not surprising to see more games with 120fps support on consoles. Here is the list of games confirmed so far.

The complete list of Xbox Series X games at 120fps

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • Dirt 5
  • ExoMecha
  • Gears 5
  • Halo Infinite (multiplayer)
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Metal: Hellsinger
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps
  • Orphan of the Machine
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Second Extinction
  • The Falconeer

Backward compatibility can send some titles at 120fps as well: the Series X doubles the original 60fps refresh, sending it to 120fps.

However, we still have no confirmation of any visual compromises in 120fps gameplay.

Best TVs and monitors for gaming at 120fps, recommended by Digital Foundry

If you like fast-paced titles like first person shooter or racing, we recommend a TV that supports high refresh rates with the new consoles, as long as your budget allows it. Here are our recommended models for each category, including LG’s gorgeous OLEDs and competing alternatives from Samsung and Sony. Each model chosen offers 120fps at 4K, variable refresh rate and low input lag, making them perfect models for gaming. By clicking on each model you will access our detailed article The best TVs for 4K gaming with HDR.

The best 4K and 120Hz TVs for PS5 and Xbox Series X

  • LG CX OLED (via HDMI 2.1)
  • Samsung Q80T QLED (via HDMI 2.1)
  • Sony XH9005 / X900H (via HDMI 2.1, which will arrive via software update)
  • LG NanoCell 85

Note: The 49-inch Q80T has a 60Hz panel instead of the 120Hz one used in the larger variants. And it also lacks support for variable refreshes, as well as having worse viewing angles, so we recommend getting the 55-inch variants.

Gaming monitors are also a great choice for PS5 or Series X, but be warned that at the time of this writing, no models support HDMI 2.1 input. Of course, this doesn’t stop you from enjoying 120Hz at resolutions below 4K, such as 1440p or 1080p, as the HDMI 2.0 standard supports 120Hz for these resolutions. To reach 144Hz at 1440p you’ll need to turn off adaptive V-Sync. This is an option to consider because these monitors are significantly cheaper than the 4K and 120Hz alternatives. The first monitor announced with HDMI 2.1 support is the Eve Spectrum, linked below, but we expect more compatible models to arrive later this year.

Best 120Hz gaming monitors for PS5 and Xbox Series X

  • AOC 24G2U (1080p 120Hz via HDMI 1.4)
  • BenQ EX2780Q (1440p 120Hz via HDMI 2.0)
  • LG 27GL850 (1440p 120Hz via HDMI 2.0 w / VRR disabled)
  • Eve Spectrum (4K 120Hz via HDMI 2.1)

Digital Foundry’s guide to 120fps next-gen gaming

What is HDMI 2.1?

Long story short, HDMI 2.1 is the new standard that increases the amount of data that can be carried over an HDMI cable. While the ports may always look the same, increased bandwidth requires new cables, new source devices (consoles and next-gen graphics cards), and new output devices (TVs and monitors). If the whole chain is upgraded to HDMI 2.1 support, then you will get several features.

The most important feature for us is to send more frames per second at a given resolution. On the previous HDMI 2.0 standard it was possible to send a maximum image 60 times per second. On HDMI this amount doubles, becoming 120 frames per second for 4K.

Other features include an automatic low latency mode that basically allows the TV to disable certain processes to lower input lag, and support for variable refreshes, which eliminate screen tearing and judder artifacts without adding side effect of the increased input lag of v-sync. Other features also include HDMI VRR (included with the HDMI 2.1 standard), FreeSync (for AMD graphics cards) and G-Sync (for Nvidia graphics cards).

What is the difference between 120Hz and 120fps?

The Hertz (Hz) indicate the number of times a screen refreshes in one second. The maximum refresh rate is an intrinsic part of every model of TV or monitor; most screens stop at 60Hz but some go as low as 120Hz. Gaming monitors are notoriously available at refresh rates above 60Hz, some models even go up to 360Hz, with the most common supporting 144Hz or 240Hz.

THE Frames per second (fps) (fps) indicate the number of images generated by the console or PC in one second. This can be locked to some degree, normally to keep new frames constantly updated, or unlocked to allow for higher frame-rates in less demanding games to render.

Halo is for everyone. We can confirm #HaloInfinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support 120FPS on Xbox Series X. More details will be shared later! pic.twitter.com/9bIrppFiON

– Halo (@Halo) July 31, 2020

Manage cookie settings

Ideally, these two parameters should be similar most of the time to take advantage of the low input lag and improved temporal resolution mentioned earlier. For example, if your screen is at 120Hz and your console is delivering 120 frames per second, then you will make the most of your setup.

If your console only delivers 60fps, then you won’t have an advantage in using a 120Hz screen over a 60Hz one. Conversely, if your console generates a fixed 120fps but is connected to a 60Hz screen, you will get a boost in responsiveness. * but not comparable to the 120fps and 120Hz pairing.

If you like fast-paced games, it makes sense to have a 120Hz screen. Even though the console produces a frame-rate between 60 and 120fps, you’ll get a more and more responsive image on a 120Hz screen versus a 60Hz one.

We’re still a few weeks away from the launch of the consoles, so we’re still not sure how the games will run, if the frame-rate will be completely fixed at 120fps or if there will be dips here and there. But considering the powerful processors mounted on the fixed 120fps consoles they are sustainable, and we’re thrilled to see the new machines in action.

What about the Xbox Series S?

In theory, the Xbox Series S should run games at 120fps like the Xbox Series X but at a lower resolution. Little is known, but Ubisoft has outlined the performance of some of its games for each next-gen console. We hope to know more as the launch approaches.

Sports documentary series All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma to Prime Video

The sports documentary series All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in the Benelux on March 1.

A look behind the scenes of the world’s best cycling team, in which Jonas Vingegaard wins the Tour de France thanks to team play, Wout van Aert the green and Tom Dumoulin directs his farewell.

The six-part sports documentary series All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma, the best cycling team in the world according to UCI ranking, was followed behind the scenes for a year. In the successful year 2022, in which the team wins the Tour de France, nothing has been hidden from the cameras, which provides an insight into the success formula of the cycling team. In the sports documentary series, produced by Southfields Stories, we see the leaders Wout van Aert, Tom Dumoulin, Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic not only on the bike and around the race, but also in their private lives.

Nothing secret in All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma

It results in a document in which nothing remains secret. The fierce discussions on the bus, doubts in the hotel room, the pain of losing and the sweet taste of winning: everything is in the picture.

In the sports documentary series, the viewer is there from the very first moment. At the training camp at the end of 2021, sporting director Merijn Zeeman lays the foundation to dethrone two-time Tour winner Tadej Pogacar. The preparatory races and altitude training courses show from the inside how the greatest ambition is being fulfilled: winning the Tour de France. While everyone counts on the experienced Primoz Roglic to be the right man on behalf of Team Jumbo-Visma to conquer the yellow, it is precisely his student Jonas Vingegaard who wins the largest cycling race in the world.

Wout van Aert completes the success story by also winning the points jersey. It is the first time in 25 years that a team takes home both the yellow and the green jersey and the team also takes home the polka dot jersey and six stage victories.

But there is more than just the Tour de France. We also see Tom Dumoulin getting back on his bike after a sabbatical. His quest starts with an altitude internship in Colombia, but in the Giro d’Italia it turns out that a return to the top is no longer possible. Soon after, he decides to put away his bike for good, which leads to a candid Dumoulin on the beach in Sydney.

All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma is a sports documentary series about friendship, team spirit, doubts, the pain of falling and the joy of getting up. All-in: Team Jumbo-Visma is produced by Southfields Stories. Author Frank Heinen has actively co-written the series. Independent experts will also have their say, such as cycling journalists and former top cyclist Tom Boonen.

Powercom begins supplying Sentinel series UPS to the Russian market

Powercom announced the start of deliveries of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) of the Sentinel (SNT) series to the Russian market. These are online UPSs with pure sine wave output, designed to protect power supplies and ensure continuous operation of servers, as well as network, telecommunications, medical and other equipment that impose strict requirements on power quality and/or support critical processes.

The series includes models SNT-1000, SNT-1500, SNT-2000 and SNT-3000 with a nominal power of 1; 1.5; 2 and 3 kV•A respectively. The new products are made in universal 2U high cases, which can be installed in a standard 19-inch rack or on the floor using the removable supports included in the delivery package.

To connect protected devices, the SNT-1000 and SNT-1500 models have six outputs with IEC320-C13 connectors. In turn, the SNT-2000 and SNT-3000 UPSs are equipped with eight outputs with IEC320-C13 connectors and one with a C19 socket.

The load is powered in autonomous mode from sealed, maintenance-free lead-acid batteries located in the UPS housing. It is possible to connect external battery packs to increase battery life. The design of the Sentinel series models allows for hot-swappable batteries. Thanks to their placement in rigid trays, the process of replacing and maintaining batteries is extremely simple.

An important advantage of the Sentinel series models is zero switching time to battery power. High power factor (PF=1) ensures maximum performance. It is possible to segment the load to increase battery life. High efficiency mode reduces energy and UPS maintenance costs.

All Sentinel series models are equipped with a control panel with a rotating LCD display. There are USB and RS-232 ports for connecting to a PC, as well as a slot for installing an optional SNMP adapter card. The latter allows you to monitor the status of the UPS and manage its settings from a remote workstation.

Case dimensions of the SNT-1000 and SNT-1500 models are 428x425x84 mm; SNT-2000 and SNT-3000 – 428x635x84 mm.

The Sentinel series UPS will be available in warehouses at Russian Powercom distributors in August.
