EA FC 24 Xbox One and Series X|S comparison: features,…

EA Sports FC 24 is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. We highlight the differences between the Xbox One and Xbox Series Our comparison covers everything from Hypermotion to new features.

The separation between EA Sports and FIFA is official. The successor to FIFA 23 is called “FC 24”. Apart from the name and a few additional innovations, the game remains the same.

However, just like in FIFA, considerable differences exist between console generations. We’ll help you decide whether it’s worth upgrading from the Xbox One to the Xbox Series X or S, and explain how the two versions vary.

Comparison: Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions of EA FC 24

The most obvious difference is in the console. The Xbox One is far behind in capacity compared to the Xbox Series X/S, which can implement completely different technologies. And you can notice it right in the game.

However, what also stands out is the significant price difference between the consoles. If you only play a few hours a month, you don’t necessarily need to get an Xbox Series X/S.

EA FC 24: Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S comparison

Now let’s move on to the ultimate comparison between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions of EA FC 24:

Features of the EA FC 24
Xbox One Xbox Series X/S
All game modes

Fast loading times

Good gameplay

Crossplay ✅ (PS4) ✅ (PS5, PC)
Hypermotion
Accelerate 2.0
Playstyles
Early Access

Standard Edition Price

$69.99 $69.99
Ultimate Edition Pricing $99.99 $99.99
Console price version used approx. $100 Series X: approx. $499

Prices are dynamic and may change at any time, and they may vary depending on the provider. The prices mentioned are for the “normal” Xbox One (not the Pro version) and the Xbox Series X.

The Xbox One is primarily available for purchase as used. Then the $499 for an Xbox Series X/S doesn’t seem too expensive. The S series is even more affordable.

Besides, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S have the same FUT transfer market. However, Xbox One players are at a disadvantage when shooting at players due to longer loading times.

So which version is better? Our answer is clear: Xbox Series X/S. Even though the game and console are slightly more expensive, the extra cost is worth it for better gameplay and faster loading times.

EA FC 24 on Xbox One: Hypermotion V and new features will be missing again

EA FC 24 will be available for Xbox One. You can purchase or pre-order the Standard or Ultimate edition. The pre-order bonuses are also the same as the Xbox Series X/S. The Standard Edition price is $79.99, so the Xbox One version is just as expensive as the Xbox Series X/S version.

However, Xbox One owners also have to give up some things. This was already the case with FIFA 23, and we were really disappointed by EA. The image stuttered, sometimes froze, and was generally extremely slow.

Creating a relaxed Dream Squad in Ultimate Team unfortunately wasn’t fun as you sometimes had to struggle to navigate the menu, like in FIFA 09. It was definitely different on Xbox Series X/S, as the menu worked smoothly and wait times were minimal.

The gameplay of FIFA 23 on the Xbox One version was decent, although it was in no way comparable to the gameplay on Xbox Series X/S. And it will be pretty much the same this year, as there will be hardly any changes or improvements in terms of gameplay as you need to do. without Hypermotion V, different racing styles or the new Playstyles.

EA FC 24 on Xbox Series X|S: Next-gen upgrades revealed

The Xbox Series

In general, the Xbox Series Xbox Series X/S is connected via cross-play with PlayStation 5 and PC, giving you more options to connect with your friends.

Google Chrome on iOS: New Features Unveiled!

For a long time, Google’s Chrome browser has been steadily raising its bar. Google has gained significant popularity among iPhone users thanks to the ability to easily set Chrome as the default iOS browser. If you use Google Chrome as your primary web browser on iOS, get ready for a spectacular update that will completely transform your experience. Continue reading for more fascinating information!

Chrome Takes a Quantum Leap Forward on iOS!

Google Chrome’s version 114.0.5735.124 upgrade now includes the option to access a variety of Google services directly within the program, eliminating the need to exit. This suggests that Chrome is no longer just another third-party browser; rather, it is turning into an indispensable “multi-tool” for the iOS community.

This means that clicking on an address will no longer redirect you to Google Maps. If you want to plan a Calendar reminder, you don’t have to do it completely using the Google Calendar app. You may also enjoy real-time text translation right within the Chrome app. This improved feature considerably improves the Google Chrome app’s attractiveness among iOS users. The need to clog your iPhone with various Google apps just to use the Google browser is no longer necessary.

Increasing the Scope of Integrated Applications

Google Lens will be added to its list of connected apps in the near future. This enables you to use your iPhone camera to recognize objects, translate signage, and explore further. Nonetheless, it’s important to note that these “convenience” features have limitations. You will still need to access these apps individually for more complex activities. To enable the driving mode, for example, you’d need to launch the Google Maps app, and to add certain events to your calendar, you’d need the Calendar app, and so on.

The current integration is intended to improve your digital lifestyle while reducing the burden on your iPhone battery. This is a significant improvement than running many apps in the background at the same time.

Steam is getting its biggest update in years today, these are the new features

It has been a long time since there has been such a major update. (Image: Steam – Facebook)

No, no, don’t worry, your eyes are fine. Steam actually looks different and has also launched some new features. Valve, the company behind Steam, announced a massive update back in April. Colleague Sören is already looking forward to it:

The new Steam feature is a boon for open worlds

The update is now live and should already be on your computer. In addition to the adapted design and new features, old functions have also been revised and made more useful.

New look, new Steam

Those who liked the Steam interface the way it was will be happy to hear that the design tweaks don’t involve any fundamental changes. Valve spent more time on details than on the rough structure. Here is a list of visual adjustments:

  • Some menus have been made clearer
  • The dialog windows were slightly adjusted
  • Lots of fonts have been changed
  • Colors have been adjusted for higher contrast. Steam gets a little darker and partly bluer
  • Main header, settings and the screenshot management have been given an improved user interface

1:20 Steam announces their major Steam update

New (old) functions

Basic systems and features have been completely reworked. There is something for everyone. From the new in-game overlay to notes that you can display in-game. But one by one.

In-game overlay 2.0

The overlay has undergone fundamental changes. (Image: Steam)

The overlay, which you can call up with the key combination in the game, has been completely revised. The user interface has been redesigned and there is a toolbar. With it you can access some things you could use while playing:

  • Game overview (game time, friends playing the game, news)
  • chat
  • successes
  • guides
  • discussions
  • browsers
  • notes

Also, you can now pin windows to see them during gameplay. Then really only the content is displayed and the window can be made transparent in stages. This could be especially handy for Achiever Hunters. Or for the new notes.

New Feature: Notes

The new note tool in the Steam overlay. (Image: Steam)

If you gamble, you can also note down important information about the respective game. Thanks to Rich Text Format (RTF), you can even add pictures – even offline, by the way. Then, when you go back online, your notes will be synced across all the devices you’re signed in to.

What is rich text format? Rich Text Format (RTF) is a file format for storing formatted text. Developed by Microsoft, it allows to save text documents with various text formatting such as fonts, colors, tables, images and other elements.

Notifications 2.0

From now on, the green bell only lights up when it is useful for you. On the one hand, this is because Steam only displays new notifications. On the other hand, there are new settings for notifications, in which you choose what is relevant to you.

From now on you decide which notifications you want to see.

Steam is unified

One of the biggest technical changes that Valve has made is the new framework. This is the code base on which the various Steam clients interact. This is intended to create more unity between the desktop version, Big Picture mode and the Steam Deck.

As a result, new functions can be developed and implemented faster in the future.

The Steam deck also gets a small adjustment. The controller configurator is now part of the overlay when the gamepad is connected. Additionally, virtual menus can be used while playing on the desktop.

You don’t have a Steam Deck yet. You can change that here:

Those were the biggest changes from the new Steam update. It’s even more detailed in the official patch notes.

How do you like the new design? Would you have liked more visual changes? What do you think of the new and revised features? Which innovation do you like best and which not so much? What would you change about Steam if you could? As always, let us know what you think in the comments!

OpenAI introduces new features on ChatGPT

Sam Altman’s OpenAI startup announces a big upgrade for ChatGPT as it competes in the generative AI industry. She plans to add new text features to her powerful chatbot that will be of great use. In addition to this, it is revising its subscription offers downwards to broaden the accessibility of its product to more Internet users around the world.

New versions of GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-4

On June 13, 2023, OpenAI announced the release of new versions of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, its latest generative text AI. For this major upgrade, Sam Altman’s startup is rolling out a new feature called “Function Call.” This allows developers to describe programming functions and have GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 generate the appropriate code.

As an illustration, “Function Call” can be useful for creating chatbots with multiple features. The latter will be able to answer questions by calling external tools to help users. Beyond that, they can convert natural language into database queries and extract structured data from text.

In a blog post, OpenAI clarifies that: “These models have been refined to both detect when a function should be called… and to respond with JSON that adheres to the function’s signature. The function call allows developers to more reliably retrieve structured data from the model. »

A larger popup window for GPT-3.5 Turbo

Along with the Function Call feature, OpenAI introduces in GPT-3.5 Turbo a larger popup window. This is measured in tokens or raw text chunks and refers to the text that the model considers before generating content. The new GPT-3.5 Turbo offers four times the context length (16,000 tokens) of the vanilla GPT-3.5 Turbo at twice the price.

This is approximately $0.003 for 1000 input tokens (tokens fed into the model) and $0.004 for 1000 output tokens (tokens generated by the model). OpenAI says it can generate up to 20 pages of text at once. However, this is well below the Claude flagship model from the startup Anthropic, which is capable of processing a hundred pages. OpenAI is nevertheless testing a version of GPT-4 with a context window of 32,000 tokens, but only in a limited version.

With this new policy however, the startup announces that it is reducing its costs for GPT-3.5 Turbo by 25%. Developers can now use the model of $0.0015 for 1,000 input tokens and $0.002 for 1,000 output tokens. That equates to about 700 pages per dollar, which will save them some money.

A price reduction for TEXT-embedding ada-002

During the upgrade performed by OpenAI, the startup further lowered the price for TEXT-embedding ada-002. Considered one of the most popular text embedding models on ChatGPT, they measure the relatedness of text strings. They are commonly used for search (where results are ranked by relevance to a query string) and recommendations. For the latter, elements with associated text strings are recommended.

TEXT-embedding ada-002 now costs $0.0001 for 1,000 tokens, a 75% discount from the original price. OpenAI says the reduction was made possible by increased efficiency in its systems, a key area for the startup. It also spends hundreds of millions of dollars on R&D and infrastructure.

ChatGPT just added new features and lowered API prices

ChatGPT just added new features and lowered API prices

OpenAI continued to work on updates to ChatGPT, with a new GPT-4 language model and plugins now in public testing. This Tuesday, OpenAI has announced a major update to its API offerings for large language models : GPT-3.5 Turbo (the default model of ChatGPT) and GPT-4 (available in Bing Chat and ChatGPT Pro).

In large language models (LLM), the “pop-up window” is a kind of short-term memory that stores the content of the prompt or, in the case of a chatbot, the entire content of the conversation in course. In language models, increasing context size has become a technology race, with Anthropic recently announcing a 75,000-word popup option for its Claude language model. Also, OpenAI has developed a 32,000 keyword version of GPT-4, but it is not yet publicly available.

In a similar vein, OpenAI just introduced a new version of gpt-3.5-turbo with 16,000 popups, called, unsurprisingly, “gpt-3.5-turbo-16k”, which allows a prompt to have a maximum length of 16,000 tokens. With four times the context length of the standard version (4000), gpt-3.5-turbo-16k can handle around 20 pages of text in a single request. This is a huge step forward for developers who need a model that can process and generate responses for larger chunks of text.

Also, updated models include a new feature called Function callingwhich makes it easier for software developers to create chatbots who answer questions using external tools. This should improve plugins and other services that use ChatGPT or official APIs.

The GPT-3.5 update also includes a “more reliable orientability”, which means she should give you more control over her personality in the responses. Orientability is what makes prompts like “pretend you’re a hacker” work well, and previously worked much better in GPT-4 than in GPT-3.5.

A better price

OpenAI also reduces API access prices. The cost of GPT-3.5 input tokens is now 25% lower, at $0.0015 per 1,000 input tokens and $0.002 per 1,000 output tokens. The more powerful 16K version of GPT-3.5 costs $0.003 per 1K input tokens and $0.004 per 1K output tokens, and GPT-4’s costs don’t seem to have changed.

Finally, OpenAI opens the waiting list for the GPT-4 API to more people. The company hopes to remove the waitlist entirely soon, which could be a sign that GPT-4 will be available to free ChatGPT users in the not-too-distant future.

Cyberpunk 2077 receives a new patch: these are its main new features

CD Projekt has released a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 that features some exclusive changes for the Xbox version

Cyberpunk 2077 It has become, albeit with delay, what CD Projekt wanted it to be from the beginning. Over the last couple of years, many players have been enjoying the open-world action RPG and have seen all its virtueshidden at the time after a disastrous launch.

Now, as we approach the premiere of the Phantom Liberty story expansion, the Polish company continues working on its game. And it is that Cyberpunk 2077 has received a new patch of which, below, we will tell you its main new featuresas it has corrections and improvements in multiple areas.

Patch 1.63 for #Cyberpunk2077 is being rolled out on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This update contains various gameplay and quest fixes.

For details, check out the list of changes: pic.twitter.com/Zj9FaFGqID

— Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) June 20, 2023

These are the news of the new Cyberpunk 2077 patch

First of all, it is important to note that this is an update that should be available later today on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PCsince CD Projekt has already abandoned the old generation versions, at least as far as the creation of new content is concerned.

The first part of the patch talks about a multitude of corrections to small bugs related to mission objectives that could not be fulfilled under certain circumstances. This being the case, it will now be much less common to see errors in this field. As for the open worldthe main solution that this Cyberpunk 2077 update has provided is the one that prevented a mission from being activated when approaching it, which caused it to remain undiscovered.

What is most relevant to us, however, are two modifications that exclusively affect the Xbox Series X|S version. CD Projekt explains that the maximum number of manual saves is now twenty, while the maximum number of saves at points of no return is ten. If you have more of those saved, you will have to make room for the next ones. Likewise, the Polish company reports that it has resolved an error that affected the performance of the Xbox version when the gaming session had extended several hours.

Remember that Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on Xbox Series September 26 only to the new generation and with a huge update that, according to those who have seen it in advance, will completely change the game.

Huawei P40 Pro +, analysis. Review with features, price and specifications.

The more adversity Huawei seems to face, the more its P40 family has expanded. Now there are four members of this lineage and in the Huawei P40 Pro + review we have the opportunity to see the maximum grade reached by the first round of the manufacturer’s high-end ranges, the flagship of the brand so far this year.

It is a configuration very similar to that of the Huawei P40 Pro, but with some “plus” (pun intended) focused on the design and the cameras. The potential protagonist: again a “super” zoom to which more and more rivals appear, starting from their own home.

From matte to ceramic, but with an almost identical mold

One of the main changes that this Pro + has with respect to the standard Pro is in its design and construction: that matte finish of the glass is blurred to make room for a ceramic back. In the case of white, this part supposes a shiny back, like piano lacquer, with a touch reminiscent of glass.

There is no play with colors as we are seeing lately and in this case it is something that favors them: they seem to have searched certain sobriety and elegance that they certainly achieve (and that we may like more or less). The white contrasts with the considerable module for the cameras, black, and with the silver edges that are practically the same as those we saw in the P40 Pro (with those corners that seem to embed the screen).

Of course, this rear is not saved from traces and although at first glance they may not be noticed gets dirty easily. It is comfortable in hand partly thanks to the curves and the thickness, which goes hand in hand with a considerable weight especially considering that it is relatively compact seeing other mobiles with an approximate screen (it weighs almost 20 grams more than the P40 Pro with the same volume).

Height (millimeters) Width (mm) Thickness (millimeters) Weight (grams) Screen (inch) Drums Surface (cm2) Volume (cc)
Huawei P40 Pro + 158.2 72.6 8.95 226 6.58 4,200 114.85 102.79
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 166.9 76 8.8 220 6.9 5,000 126.84 111.62
OnePlus 8 Pro 165.3 74.35 8.5 199 6.78 4,510 122.0 104.47
iPhone 11 Pro Max 158 77.8 8.1 226 6.5 3,969 122.92 99.57
Pixel 4 XL 160 75.1 8.2 193 6.3 3,700 120.46 98.78
LG V60 ThinQ 169.4 77.7 8.9 219 6.8 5,000 131.62 117.15
Sony Xperia 1 II 165.1 71.1 7.6 181.4 6.5 4,000 117.39 89.21
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 157.8 74.2 9.67 208 6.47 5,620 117.09 113.22

Speaking of the screen, this is a 6.58-inch OLED panel with FullHD + resolution (2,640 x 1,200 pixels) and refresh rate of up to 90 hertz. A resolution that although it is correct is more of the mid-range and that in this Pro + is strange, with the competition accommodated in the QHD +.

This aside, it gives a good experience in terms of contrast, brightness and definition. The 90 Hz refresh rate is especially noticeable in scrolls and transitions (somewhat heavy in this software layer) and it comes quite well calibrated from the factory, although very saturated. This can be corrected in screen settings, just as we found the possibility of “hiding” or not the front camera island (which leaves a fairly wide bar) and we maintain the sensations regarding curvature: there are no accidental touches (except very occasionally), but it does not provide any advantage and we have to get used to the shadows that occur naturally on the screen.

Regarding the Audio, the system is maintained so that the handset is the screen itself and there is a main speaker at the bottom. Although it is not strictly speaking a stereo sound, the sound is quality, clean and with good dynamic range. Speaking of the headphones, USB type-C is delivered that give a good experience and there are also some software options that allow us to adjust it a little more to our liking.

Use experience: a known configuration for more than sufficient performance

With the Kirin 990 and 8 GB of RAM, the Huawei P40 Pro + performs very well and there is no sign that the hardware could fall short, neither for games nor for other demanding tasks. There is no lag or jerk and although the temperature rises in the area around the rear camera module, we have not noticed anything worrisome. We show you the benchmarks that we have been able to pass (with some absence due to problems in the installation or execution).

Huawei P40 Pro Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Nubia Z20 LG V50 ThinQ OPPO Reno 10x Zoom OnePlus 7 Pro Honor View30 Pro iPhone 11 Pro

PCMark Work 9,681 9,476 10,426 8,948 9,364 8,649 9,991 8,712

We can speak fairly about the software since we have seen in depth what we can do with a Huawei mobile currently without Google services. But we can comment that this mobile launches Petal Search, a search engine that unifies web results with apps and even metasearch on the phone itself with which we will obtain results from the App Gallery or APK from known repositories (here it will indicate with a warning that it may be a installation not secure and that Huawei is not responsible.

With a 4,200 mAh battery, the same capacity as that of the P40 Pro, the average autonomy is practically the same, around the 28-30 hours. There is no marked difference between one screen frequency or another, and it can reach 2 days if we use less intense (listening to music, browsing, social networks, etc.) and less than a day if we continuously pull multimedia and games.

Some cameras that maintain the level of their younger brothers

The camera app is the one that we have seen in the last Huawei that we have tested, although in this case we will see a mode dedicated to 50 megapixel shooting. Still keeping the tabbed interface and prioritizing the AI button over one for HDR or video quality on shortcuts, but it works fine and smoothly.

In general, we see a somewhat more realistic result in terms of colorimetry than in previous Huawei phones, but as we also saw in the Huawei P40 there is a certain tendency to red on occasions when there is not that hue.

Highlights the versatility of all lenses and especially that zoom that we will now talk about (supported by two telephoto lenses). The wide angle works well in abundant light but does not look very good when it is scarce.

In the absence of a face-to-face comparison, Huawei will probably continue to take the helm when it comes to optical zoom

In the absence of a face-to-face comparison, Huawei is probably still at the helm when it comes to optical zoom. This Pro + also goes up to 10x thanks to its second telephoto lens And the truth is that it gives surprising results even at night, when we will miss some exposure but in return we will have a detail that will impress.

The 3x, 5x and 10x are useful in any occasion, not so much the 100x. In all cases we will see worse performance in medium light or situations such as a sunset, and we will see later that the night mode also helps optical zooms but not when we go to digital, since they are much slower shots.

Something to emphasize is that the lens change continues according to what the system considers; that is, it will not always jump to 5x or 10x. This was explained to us by the brand itself, indicating that the telephoto cannot have a large aperture and needs more light, that is why they are combined with the main one. The system evaluates the light and focal length, noise and other aspects, and then judges when to jump.

In any case, the Huawei P40 Pro + is the mobile for those who want the best zoom on the market on a mobile and set the bar high. The white balance holds up quite well and so does the colorimetry, so the only thing we will notice is some underexposure due to the type of lens as we have seen.

The video experience is equivalent to what we had with the P40 Pro, both for the app and for the quality and that particular leap of lenses that we have described in photography. More detail in 4K and the one that loses is the wide angle, especially at night (losing stability).

Huawei P40 Pro +, the opinion of Engadget

Huawei wanted to differentiate a second more sophisticated and elegant flagship in a year in which competition for the zoom is growing and in which we have seen the biggest drop in the history of the mobile market. Despite the impact on sales, the brand remains second in the world ranking, but given the fall that is perceived due to the reverse of Google services, it is at least a risky move as it is not a very affordable mobile.

Being so, so similar to the Huawei P40 Pro, it is difficult to justify its purchase with respect to the other, being also somewhat lighter and equally robust, but if the apparent investment they have made in the cameras of this team is noticeable, it is that the zoom is One last. Maybe not all of us use the zoom or the wide angle very regularly, but with the one of this mobile it makes you want to use it all the time. And it is the umpteenth proof that Combination of optical zoom with optical stabilization wins out when it comes to zooming in as far as possible.

In favor

  • The zoom is outrageous. Even the 100x, within what is possible, come to surprise.
  • Although it is somewhat heavy in hand, it is not large due to its width, and it does not slip.
  • The software’s own services are becoming more and more complete.

Against

  • Although it sounds repetitive and EMUI is completing, the software can limit the experience depending on how dependent we are on certain apps.
  • Maintaining a certain quality, the sound through the screen cannot emulate the stereo itself.
  • The camera app could be a little less confusing: in the end, so much choice becomes overwhelming.

The terminal has been loaned for testing by Huawei. Can inquire our policy of relationships with enterprises.

iOS 17.3: release date and new features coming to your iPhone

A few weeks after the deployment of iOS 17.2, marked by the introduction of the Journal application and a new option to change the default sound of alerts, Apple is already looking to the future.

And as expected, the first beta phase of version iOS 17.3 has begun, thus offering all registered users Apple beta software program the possibility of testing it. This next version of the iPhone operating system, which comes with a series of improvements and new features, should be deployed globally in January. But what should you expect? What are the new features? We take stock.

What release date for iOS 17.3?

So far, Apple has not announced a release date for this latest iteration. But as we recall our colleagues at SamaGame, the Cupertino company tends to follow the same roadmap from one year to the next. Therefore, it is possible to predict the release day of iOS 17.3 based on previous deployment dates:

  • iOS 16.3: January 23, 2023,
  • iOS 15.3: January 26, 2022,
  • iOS 14.3: December 14, 2020,
  • iOS 13.3: December 10, 2019.

So, SamaGame predicts a global rollout during the second half of January, also taking into account “the drop in activity linked to holidays” and the need for the company to initiate additional beta phases.

New features coming with iOS 17.3

Collaborative playlists on Apple Music

Already implemented in the beta phases of the iOS 17.2 version, then finally postponed to 2024, the collaborative playlist functionality on Apple Music should, theoretically, accompany this new iteration of the operating system. Concretely, the option allows, as on Spotify, the creation and modification of collaborative playlists with other users. In addition, Apple’s music on demand service introduces another option within these playlists: reactions to a song through an emoji.

A new protection feature in the event of device theft

Accessible in the tab Face ID and passcodethis additional layer of security provides, when activated, enhanced protection “when the iPhone is not in a known location such as home or work”, details Apple. The idea is this: to deprive a thief, who would have known of your secret code, of access to your sensitive data, such as payment information saved in Safari or iCloud keychain passwords, or of the possibility perform critical operations, such as wiping the device or turning off the option Locate. How ? By requiring identification via Touch ID or Face ID when the location of the iPhone is unknown. At the same time, Apple is introducing a one-hour security delay to make any critical changes when the option is enabled.

Project Gaia: the Pink expansion arrives with lots of new features

I spoke to you recently about best game all-time expert for me: Project Gaia! Despite the presence of new people created by fans I couldn’t wait to see an official expansion arrive! Feuerland has just revealed the first information on it! I am joy!

New planets

Turquoise protoplanets

The new planets are found on small sector tiles. Turquoise planets require 3 stages of gaiaformation for everyone but pay off 6 points. We can already imagine that the coveted gaiaformation track will become even more popular! So imagine a player who only has 1 gaiaforme ore having fun on a turquoise planet the round where the gaiaformation stages earn points! Strong !

Pink asteroids

Asteroids are gaiaformed in spending a gaiaformer. They thus offer them another use… it’s a welcome development… we end up quite often with a gaiaformer which is useless because we had to take the techno tile underneath (for example with the itars) or that we took this first step on the track with the crazy androids… I will be able to get on this track more often, which I shy away from 2 times out of 3.

Beware of Geodens

2 new planets are choice sockets for the Geodens. Indeed, I hope they thought about the fact that with 2 new types of planets they can become the best people in the game (with the 6 science gained in addition!). A priori yes given that the publisher announces covering tiles on the planetary institutes of certain peoples (we can imagine that the Geodens would go from +3 sciences per new type of planet colonized to +3/+1 depending on the type discovered)

The Tinkeroids are coming!

A very mobile but dangerous people

The Tinkeroids promise to be very mobile on the map with several planets that only requirea stage of Gaiaformation. It will be difficult to block them. On the other hand, they should not bother other players too much with other people’s planets which will cost 3 stages of gaiaformation. We can also notice that the Gaia planets cost 2 green cubes! Be careful of games with scoring on gaia or types of planets.

A very adaptive people

They start with a single building the planetary institute. Unlike Terra Mystica or more recently Age of Innovation, starting with a single building is not too risky in Project Gaia (hello Swarm). And this Planetary Institute allows you to choose one additional action per turn (the top 3, turns 1 to 3, then the bottom 3 in the photo below). A model of its kind to adapt!

It seems very strong

Additional actions are very strong ! Having a free shovel (imagine with the shovel booster) at the start of the game or even 3 at the end seems really strong to me! And the +4 power action can also make a combined turn at +8 power with the right technology (it seems to me the perfect opening turn 1 in fact, where few players have power early).

Other promising additions

New technologies

We will also find in this extension new technologies to place at the very top of the tracks for even more renewal: points for large buildings, for peripheral sectors, for asteroids, or even points in gaiaforming (that seems so strong to me). My favorite: points using green cube actions!

New roundboosters

We will also be able to have fun with new round boosters : points for the types of planets (another great thing for the Geodens), for the gaiaformers (finally a gift for my favorite people: the Bal Tak), for the peripheral sectors and direct gaiaformation (to be confirmed it seems excessive to me underpants).

New round scoring

And finally new tiles round scoring (you know the precious tiles to follow to win): points for the construction of labs, points for new sectors (that will change the dynamic of development in the game), points for new types of planets ( here too the pace of play will really be changed).

An already essential extension

With all these little additions already presented I already see this extension as essential. And the people seem really ___y to me to play. I’ll let you know as soon as we have information on the 3 other peoples and the new additions!

AirPods 3rd generation VS Marshall Minor III, which Bluetooth headphones to buy?

The 3rd generation AirPods are one of Apple’s best wireless Bluetooth headphones. At least, they are the most balanced. But are not since they have a fairly high price, they lack active noise cancellation and their compatibility is limited to Apple devices.

The Marshall Minor III also do not have ANC and their autonomy is slightly less than that of Apple headphones, but they attract attention for their design and sound. Let’s discuss some details in more depth. that can make the difference between choosing one or the other.

sound technology

As has already been mentioned several times, both models of Bluetooth headphones lack active noise cancellationwhich is a function as interesting as it is useful for users looking for greater concentration or disconnection in saturated or noisy environments.

However, it must be taken into account that the 3rd generation AirPods have Spatial audio with dynamic head trackingwhich is a function that puts the user in the center of the content being listened to, whether movies, series or even music, and that surrounds and follows them as they move their head.

The Marshall Minor III does not have functions of this type, but they are compatible with the aptX codec, which is a technology that allows you to improve audio quality significantly and enjoy higher quality wireless sound.

Compatibility

It’s no surprise that Apple devices are a bit complicated when it comes to compatibility. Between them they work perfectly, but when used with those from other companies, problems appear. And although the incompatibility is not complete as in the Apple Watch and Android smartphones, AirPods functions diminish when used with, for example, a Galaxy device.

This is something that does not happen with the Marshall Minor III since they are not designed to work with specific devices. They work with both Android or Apple phones and tablets, as well as Windows or Mac computers.

The price

It must also be kept in mind that there is a price difference between Bluetooth headphones. The 3rd generation AirPods start at 199 euros for those with the Lightning charging case, and a little more if you want them to have the MagSafe charging case compatible with Qi bases.

The Marshall Minor III are not the cheapest wireless Bluetooth headphones on the market either, but they are cheaper than Apple’s, and if the budget is tighteror you have devices from different brands and compatibility is an essential requirement, they are more suitable.

Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, G2 and G1: features and specifications of the new processors for Android consoles

Almost two years ago, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 alongside a reference device made by Razer. We were able to test it in Hawaii and, basically, it was a portable console that allowed us to demonstrate the benefits of this processor created for this type of device.

Later, and already in the form of a commercial product, we were able to test the Razer Edge and, now, Qualcomm has presented the new generation of its SoC focused on video games. In addition, it is accompanied by two other proposals for machines with different capacities. Next, we tell you all the details of the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, the Snapdragon G2 and the Snapdragon G1.

Given the characteristics, we are going to delve a little into each of the processors. The most striking is obviously the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2. It is the one that is focused on machines for enthusiasts and, according to Qualcomm, the GPU is 30% faster than the previous generation. It is expected to be on par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it is too early to tell.

Qualcomm has published a series of features that accompany this SoC in a reference device and we can verify that it is a device created to enjoy video games to the fullest. It has 12 GB LPDDR5X at 4.2 GHza storage of 256 GB UFS 4.0 and active dissipation of 15 W.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon G2 is a SoC built for a machine capable of running native games No problem, but not to the last. The company has not published concrete details about this SoC, but at XDA Developers we can read that it would be on par with a Snapdragon 778G.

Finally there is the Snapdragon G1. There are no specific details about the SoC either, but this processor is focused on streaming gaming. Hopefully it will be very efficient both on power to maximize battery life and on latency.

When we have concrete details such as processor frequency and other data, we will update the article.

New PS5 update brings many changes and new features

Owners of a PlayStation 5 can get a new update today. Sony has released a new PS5 update, which brings many changes.

As has been the case with many previous PS5 firmware updates, Sony is once again keeping the latest patch secret. According to the publisher, update 22.01-05.02.00 ensures that the ‘system performance of the PlayStation 5 is improved’. It is not clear what exactly the update changes.

  • Order the PS5 DualSense controller now in new colors!

But the update that PS5 owners can now download is more than one patch, because the update is twofold. The other PS5 update, 22.01-05.00.00 brings many changes, as can be read in the patch notes.

What does the PS5 update add?

For example, Game Base is now divided into three different tabs, namely Friends, Parties and Messages. If you’re wondering what Parties are exactly, those are voice chats, because Sony has changed the name with the patch. With the update it is now also possible to start an open party or closed party, where only people you have invited can come to a closed party.

Sony has also made finding and rejecting friends a bit easier. For example, you can search for friends and now find them under the Friends tab. A Decline button has now been added if you don’t want them as a friend in your list.

To make the PlayStation 5 as accessible as possible, Sony has also added a number of options. For example, the screen reader has been given six new languages, including Dutch. In addition, you can now control your PS5 with your voice, if you enable the option, by first saying “Hey, PlayStation!” to call. That feature was tested earlier this year with certain users.

Johto Pokémon and brand new features are being added to Pokémon GO!

As Niantic just announced on its official Pokémon GO blog, the long-awaited wait for the 2nd generation pocket monsters will soon be over! Later this week, players worldwide will have the opportunity to grab more than 80 Johto Pokémon that originally debuted in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. But that’s not all, because a bunch of new features are also intended to expand the gaming experience in a refreshing way:

  • New developments: Among the more than 80 new Johto Pokémon, there will also be evolutions of older pocket monsters from the Kanto region. This will be possible with the help of new development items available at PokéStops.
  • New encounter gameplay: Wild Pokémon should react in new ways when attempted to be caught. New item carousels will be added to the encounter screen, allowing you to select Berries and Poké Balls directly.
  • New berries: In addition to raspberry berries, you can also find nanab berries and sanana berries at PokéStops. While the Nanab Berry slows down its movements when used against a wild Pokémon to make it easier to catch, the Sanana Berry doubles the number of candies in the event of a successful capture attempt.
  • New Avatars and Clothing Options: Thanks to a new selection of hats, shirts, pants and other items, you can make your character’s appearance even more individual.

Discover and catch more than 80 additional Pokémon anywhere in the world in Pokémon GO

Game update introduces Pokémon first discovered in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. Additional changes affect encounters, evolutions, berries and trainer fashion.

San Francisco, February 15, 2017: Niantic, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International announced that 80 additional Pokémon will be coming to Pokémon GO later this week. These include Pokémon that were first discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, including Endive, Fiery Urchin, and Carnimani. Trainers can encounter and catch these “wild” Pokémon on adventurous exploration hunts in their neighborhoods and cities. In addition to the Pokémon appearing in the game for the first time, the latest update also includes changes to game mechanics. The new challenges for trainers include changed play behavior during encounters, new development items, two new berries and an expanded selection of outfits and accessories for trainer avatars.

“Today is an exciting day for Pokémon GO as we welcome more Pokémon while expanding encounter and capture mechanics for the global community of trainers who love playing the game,” said John Hanke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer from Niantic, Inc. “Pokémon GO is a live experience that we will continue to support and evolve in new and interesting ways for many years to come.”

“With Pokémon GO, The Pokémon Company wanted to create a compelling game that had real-world interaction with Pokémon as its core concept,” said JC Smith, senior director, consumer marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “The amazing response that Pokémon GO has received from millions of Pokémon fans, old and new, around the world is truly phenomenal. We’re excited to continue the adventure and fun of the Pokémon brand in this innovative way by introducing new Pokémon.”

The new evolution options introduced by this update to Pokémon GO allow players to evolve their Pokémon into Pokémon first discovered in the Johto region using evolution items. When catching Pokémon, trainers will be able to use two new berries – the Nanab Berry, which slows down a Pokémon’s movement, and the Sanana Berry, which doubles the number of Candies a trainer receives the next time a trainer is successful at catching them. Trainers will also have a new selection of headwear, shirts, pants and other items to customize the look of their avatar. Additional items will also be available in the in-game Pokémon GO shop.

Nokia Streaming Box 8010 VS Apple TV 4K (3rd generation), which media center to buy?

The Apple TV 4K is one of the most unknown devices of the brand for the general publicsince it does not generate as many expectations nor is it as “essential” as an iPhone, iPad or Mac. But that is not why it is useless, since there are many users who use it to access their favorite content even if they have a latest model television of thousands euros with a recent operating system, especially if they are immersed in the Apple ecosystem.

However, like the Nokia Streaming Box 8010, It has some delicate points or that make it directly a discard for certain groups of usersBesides, it is quite expensive. So we are going to analyze them in depth to know their strengths and weaknesses.

Yield per flag

The 3rd generation Apple TV 4K is one of the most powerful multimedia centers on the market. That’s how it is. That Apple has endowed it with the chip A15 Bionic It is the assurance that the user will not find any type of performance problem when using it.

Since the Apple TV is not only a device to consume multimedia content from Netflix or Prime Video, but also it is also a “game console”. The Apple Arcade subscription service allows users to enjoy titles such as , , , , , among many others, and the device is compatible with game console controls such as the PS4, the PS5 DualSense or the Xbox.

If you are going to install many applications, especially video games, you have to take into account the internal storage capacitysince the base model of the 3rd generation Apple TV 4K comes with 64 GB, there is a superior option with double, 128 GB.

The Nokia Streaming Box 8010 is not up to the performance of the Apple TV 4K (2022), but this is not a problem either if it is going to be used mainly for its purpose: watching series and movies. And it is that Its processor, together with 4 GB of RAM, makes the operating system run wonderfully and the experience is optimal, which is what fails in alternatives such as Google or Xiaomi: fair hardware, bittersweet experience.

The software problem

If the 3rd generation Apple TV 4K wants to shine for its hardware, it’s the software that keeps it in the shade. And not because tvOS 16, its operating system, is bad, but it is very limited and does not take advantage of the full potential that the processor can offer. This is because apps from the store can’t squeeze it, and Apple doesn’t allow users to install apps that aren’t on the App Store.

Thus, unless the user is willing to tinker a bit, they cannot enjoy emulators or one of the most widely used applications in multimedia centers: KODI, which is a media player with Virtually endless possibilities thanks to the option to install plugins () and unleash its full potential. This is possible with the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 when using Android TV.

In addition, there is the issue of the ecosystem. It is not necessary to have another device from the company to enjoy Apple TV, but it is true that it is designed for use by users who, at least, have an iPhone or iPad. And it is that it benefits from having more products from Californians by offering AirPlay 2, integration with HomeKit and support for the HomePod, so the speaker can be converted into a sound bar that provides very good quality audio.

The same happens with users who have Android devices and the Nokia Streaming Box 8010, because when using Android TV comes with Chromecast and Google Assistantand Google is working to make the unified experience even more powerful.

Automatic adjustment of the frame rate (refresh)

This could be something that fits perfectly into the previous point, but it is so important that it deserves to be mentioned separately. Automatic frame rate adjustment is a feature that allows Apple TV to play content the way it was recorded for proper consumption.. It may seem simple, but it is a feature that is not implemented in all devices of this type; even some as popular as Amazon’s Fire TV only do it halfway because almost no app is adapted (although Netflix recently added support).

The Nokia Streaming Box 8010 does not have the automatic refresh rate adjustment function because it comes with Android TV 11, and it is a feature that Google integrated natively in Android TV 12, so you have to wait for the device to is updated (although there is no news about it). In fact, the only device that does it officially is the Chromecast with Google TV.

This makes Apple TV one of the best multimedia centersbut it must also be taken into account that not all applications are developed with this function and we will find the problems suffered by the alternatives, but the number of compatible apps is greater.

Clarify that not all users are affected in the same way for him for several reasons. The first is that not everyone is equally sensitive, and some notice it more than others. The second is that the television plays a fundamental role, since there are models and brands that manage this feature natively better than other alternatives.

connectivity

Nokia Streaming Box 8010 connections

The 3rd generation Apple TV 4K is not badly equipped in terms of connectivity because Apple is clear about its function: play streaming series and movies. That is why we will not find any physical port beyond the power or Ethernet if we opt for the 128 GB model, which has it integrated. This multimedia center bets everything on wireless connectivity with its WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Although the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 is also designed to play streaming movies and series, It has a USB-A 3.0 port, another USB-A 2.0, MicroSD card slot (with which to easily expand the internal storage), AV jack, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

These extra ports allow users to recharge wired devices or connect external storage media to play movies that are downloaded locally. A configuration proposal would be to occupy USB-A 2.0 with a USB receiver for a keyboard with a trackpad (many models designed for Smart TVs do not work with Bluetooth) and use USB-A 3.0 to put a hard drive and play multimedia content.

There are very powerful applications that take advantage of these ports, such as the vlc player or the aforementioned KODI.

And the price

We end with the point that is usually one of the decisive purchase factors: the price. There is not a big difference between the two, as if it could exist if compared to the proposals of Google or Amazon. The 3rd generation Apple TV 4K starts at 169 euros and the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 is priced at 129 euros.
