After the Pixel 6 (Pro) brought a breath of fresh air to Google’s phone division, a successor is already in the works. Everything you need to know about the Pixel 7 is here.
Last year, Google gave its phone division a new boost with the Pixel 6 (Pro), and now it’s important to continue on its path to success. Attention is high, and the rumor mill is bubbling up. Here, we gather the latest information about the Pixel 7 for you.
When will the Google Pixel 7 appear?
So far, it’s unclear when the new Google smartphone will appear. However, a pattern has emerged in recent years. So it’s probably between September and October, since the Pixel 5 and 6 were last released in those months.
What versions will the Google Pixel 7 have?
A recently released image leak suggests there may be at least two versions. So far, there hasn’t been any official name, which is why the words “Pixel 7” and “Pixel 7 Pro” are floating around on the internet.
How much does the Google Pixel 7 cost ?
Nothing is known about it so far. For the Pixel 6, Google set the entry price at just under 700 dollars, which is relatively low. It’s questionable whether Google will follow this approach with its successor.
What innovations does the Google Pixel 7 bring?
We know from previous leaks that the two variants of the Pixel 7 should be more differentiated than their predecessors. According to the current state of knowledge, this mainly affects the size of the phone.
This information comes from the CAD data leak that underlies the first rendered image. The informant was also able to read the dimensions of the two new models from this data. In a direct comparison with the Pixel 6, these are as follows:
Ex for Android 13
The Pixel line of phones get the latest Android version before most other models on the market. The Pixel 6 (Pro) is the first model to ship with Android 12. So it can be assumed that the Pixel 7 will ship with the upcoming Android 13 out of the box.
Google Tensor 2.0
We’re seeing significant hardware innovations with the second-generation Tensor chipsets. While little is known about the next iteration of the internal processor, it should build on the performance and AI advantages of the previous generation. Photo performance should also benefit from this, which will rely more on software optimizations than new hardware.
Design
Design-wise, the Pixel 6 (Pro) made quite a splash with its unique camera island strip on the back. The first renders suggest that Google is also using this design for the Pixel 7, and will even develop it further.
This suspicion is confirmed by recently released renders that are said to show the Google Pixel 7 Pro. A modified camera island can be seen above.

Will there be a Google Pixel foldable?
After Samsung gathered many positive reactions to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, there are rumors that Google may also be working on a Pixel Foldable. It can’t be ruled out that Google is working on a foldable Pixel, but there’s no concrete proof of that yet.
A new push has entered the debate since the FCC, the U.S. mobile device regulator, discovered four certificates. Google has apparently registered four phones here – a measure that actually came shortly before launch.
The Pixel 7’s announcement is premature, but perhaps the internet giant will surprise us with a foldable phone at Google’s I/O developer conference.
How about the Google Pixel Watch?
Since Samsung showed off its new WearOS operating system for wearables at MWC 2021, rumors about Google’s smartwatches have been rife. The operating system was eventually developed by Google and Samsung in partnership. However, so far, there is no concrete news.
