Anthem and the graphics downgrade: does it really make sense to criticize the BioWare game?
Here comes the new episode of Pierpolemica and once again EA and Anthem are at the center of the spotlight. But this time not as you might imagine!
The network is starting to speak extensively of Anthem now that the new work of BioWare is in the hands of the first, lucky PC gamers who have decided to invest some money on the Origin Access Premiere subscription. Even here on Multiplayer.it our coverage of the game has begun to show the first fruits and starting from the numerous comments written by you readers at the bottom of the recently published trial, the editorial controversy could not help but launch into a new video of debate.
But it is not so much the new work produced by Electronic Arts that is at the center of Pierpaolo’s aims, but the incredible and violent debate surrounding the graphic downgrade suffered by this game compared to the announcement trailer almost 2 years ago. But does it really make sense to criticize the product for the technological compromises reached by the development team? It really is a stuff that needs to be taken into account in the process of analyses of a title: is it smart to penalize a game a priori just because it does not respect the target renderings of years before? Wouldn’t it be more fair to try and evaluate the title as it is at the time of its release, without looking back?
And above all if a title like Anthem has to be pilloried for a graphic downgrade, what about a title like No Man’s Sky that has suffered the downgrade in the contents and in the gameplay promises made to the players? These are just some of the questions that Pierpaolo has tried to answer, in a controversial way, in the new episode of the Pierpolemica that you find at the head of this news. Check it out and then throw your head down in the comments!
