Awesome Games Done Quick 2021: More than $ 2.7 million raised for charity
Awesome Games Done Quick 2021, the latest edition of the well-known event, raised more than $ 2.7 million for charity.
L’Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 has collected more than 2.7 million dollars for the charity. The amount will be donated to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event kicked off last Sunday with a Mirror’s Edge speedrun and ended today with an “All Dungeons” run of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
At the end of the event the amount raised was 2,758,847, but many continued to donate even after, making it grow even more. The total is still less than that of the Awesome Games Done Quick 2020, which raised about 3.1 million dollars. It must be said that this year the event was only online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 saw a whopping 157 speedrun of games such as Hades, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Left 4 Dead 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and many more. This is also the only edition in which Super Mario Bros. 35 has been played, as Nintendo will remove it from the eShop on March 31, 2021.
The organization has already made it known that the Summer Games Done Quick will take place regularly, but will share details in the future. There is probably great uncertainty due to the pandemic in progress and there is no need to unbalance.
