Sony and Microsoft | Partnership was a move to compete with Google Stadia

Sony and Microsoft | Partnership was a move to compete with Google Stadia

Surprising half the world, a few weeks ago, Sony and Microsoft, signed a memorandum of understanding regarding technology and innovation. This was a big surprise, and according to Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, this was a response to Google’s game streaming platform, Stadia.

In an interview with CNET, Ryan says that this transition to the next generation “will probably be more interesting than any we’ve seen in the past”, highlighting the emergence of a new competitor on Google. He says Sony would be “at serious risk of having events around us” if the company does not take steps to move forward.

Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6 and others in the possible Microsoft Xbox event on Bethesda?

The partnership between Sony and Microsoft is an example of how Sony is preparing for an industry that is “changing very fast and in a very interesting way”. Although the deal apparently covers several areas, cloud gaming is a big part of it. With Stadia looking to effectively replace traditional consoles, it makes perfect sense.
